Abrahah, the Abyssinian viceroy of Yemen, sought to destroy the Ka'ba in Mecca after Arabs stopped worshipping at his church. He mobilized a large army that included elephants, terrifying the Arabs who had never seen them. 'Abdul-Muttalib warned Abrahah that God would defend the Ka'ba, not men. As Abrahah's forces approached, one elephant knelt down and refused to move towards Mecca. God then sent flocks of birds that pelted the army with stones, killing them. Abrahah himself later died of disease on the return journey, fulfilling 'Abdul-Muttalib's prophecy. The Quran recounts this
1) An evil tyrant king named Abraha wanted to destroy the Kaaba in Makka and steal the Black Stone to divert pilgrims to his own temple.
2) Abraha led a large army that included elephants toward Makka, but the people prayed to Allah for help.
3) Allah responded by sending swarms of birds that dropped stones on Abraha's army, destroying them and protecting the Kaaba. The event became known as the Year of the Elephant.
- Arabia in the 6th century AD was home to the important religious site of the Kaaba in Mecca, which was a center of pilgrimage for various pagan gods.
- Before the rise of Islam, the Meccans worshipped a variety of pagan gods including Allah as the moon god alongside the goddesses Al-Lat, Al-Uzza, and Manat.
- Mohammed was born in Mecca in 570 AD and later introduced monotheistic worship of Allah alone, rejecting the pagan practices at the Kaaba.
1) The tyrant king Abraha and his large army of elephants marched towards Mecca to destroy the Kaaba and steal the Black Stone.
2) The people of Mecca did not have the strength to defend the Kaaba, so they prayed to Allah for help.
3) Allah sent swarms of birds, each carrying three pebbles, which destroyed Abraha's army. No one survived except for a few men who returned to inform others.
The document summarizes the story behind Surah Al-Fil (The Elephant), which refers to an event when Abraha's army of elephants, who were sent to destroy the Ka'bah in Mecca, were miraculously defeated by swarms of birds that pelted them with stones. Abdul Muttalib, the leader of the Quraysh tribe, refused to fight Abraha directly but trusted that God would protect His sacred house. God subsequently sent flocks of birds carrying stones that destroyed Abraha's army, thwarting their plan to conquer Arabia and intimidate its people. The story reinforced that God alone protected the Ka'bah and should be the sole object of worship.

1. There is one unique root word in Surah Al-Fil (fā yā lām).
2. Surah Al-Fil refers to the historical event when Allah protected the Ka'aba from an attacking army of pagans riding elephants from Yemen.
3. This event occurred in the year the Prophet Muhammad was born, called "A'amul Fil" or the Year of the Elephant.
Nearly four thousand years ago, in the Sumerian town of Ur in the valley of the river Euphrates, lived a young man named Abraham.
The people of Ur had once worshipped Allah but as time passed they forgot the true religion and started praying to idols, statues made of wood or clay and sometimes even of precious stones.
Even as a small child Abraham could not understand how his people, and especially his father, could make these images with their own hands, call them gods, and then worship them. He had always refused to join his people when they paid respect to these statues. Instead he would leave the town and sit alone, thinking about the heavens and the world about him. He was sure his people were doing wrong and so alone he searched for the right way. One clear night as he sat staring at the sky he saw a beautiful shining star, so beautiful that he cried out: ‘This must be Allah!' He looked at it in awe for some time, until suddenly it began to fade and then it disappeared. He turned away in disappointment saying: I love not things that set. (Koran vi.77)
On another night Abraham was again looking at the sky and he saw the rising moon, so big and bright that he felt he could almost touch it. He thought to himself: This is my Lord. (Koran vi.78) But it was not long before the moon set as well. Then he said, Unless my Lord guide me, I surely shall become one of the folk who are astray. (Koran vi.78) Abraham then saw the
beauty and splendor of the sunrise and decided that the sun must be the biggest and most powerful thing in the universe.
But for the third time he was wrong, for the sun set at the end of the day. It was then that he realized that Allah is the Most Powerful, the Creator of the stars, the moon, the sun, the earth and of all living things. Suddenly he felt himself totally at peace, because he knew that he had found the Truth.

Abraham was born in Mesopotamia around 4000 years ago. He rejected his people's idol worship and believed in the one God Allah. After realizing the sun and moon were not gods, he understood Allah was the supreme creator. Abraham left his home and family in Ur due to his beliefs and settled in Palestine with his wife Sarah. From their descendants came the prophets Moses and Jesus. Abraham established the rites of Hajj and built the Kaaba in Mecca as the first house of worship for Allah. Ishmael, Abraham's son with Hagar, also helped build the Kaaba and his descendants grew into Arab tribes like the Quraysh who cared for pilgrims to Mecca.

The Prophet Muhammad and early Muslims faced increasing persecution in Mecca from the Quraysh tribe. As Islam spread in Medina, it became necessary for the Prophet and Muslims to migrate (hijra) from Mecca to Medina for safety. The Prophet Muhammad tasked Imam Ali with sleeping in his bed to disguise his departure, then traveled with Abu Bakr to a cave where they hid from pursuers. After three days, they safely arrived in Medina and established the first mosque of Islam.
Khalid ibn Walid had a dream that led him to convert to Islam in Madinah. He played a key military role in several early battles including Mutah and the conquest of Mecca. Khalid was known as "The Sword of Allah" for his combat skills and leadership abilities. He led the Muslim armies in conquering territories across Iraq and Iran, defeating the Persian and Byzantine forces in a series of decisive battles.

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like
Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can
occur natural.

2. Surah Background
In the same year as the birth of the Prophet (S), there
lived a Christian King named Abraha. He was the ruler
of Yemen.
At the time, most trade was going through Mecca
because the Arabs considered the Kaaba to be Holy.
Abraha felt envious of this, so he built a massive
Church to lure people to his kingdom. His intention
was to take the attention and trade away from Mecca
and bring it to Yemen.
When his plan didn’t work, he gathered an army of
60, 00 and made his way to Mecca to crush the
Kaaba.
He took with him an army of elephants- this was an
animal that that the Arabs were not familiar with.
3. Don’t you want to protect
your kaaba?
When the people of Mecca heard about the approaching army, many of
them evacuated the city and hid in the mountains.
Abraha arrived to Mecca and asked to speak to the leader of Quraysh.
The leader at the time was Abdul-Muttalib (the Prophet’s grandfather)
Abraha thought the destruction of the Kabaa
would be a piece of cake, with nobody
staying behind to protect it.
The Kaaba has a Lord
and he will take care
of it.
4. Suddenly the sky became black as hundreds of thousands of
birds filled the sky, flying towards the Kaaba.
Each bird was carrying a pebble from Jahanam.
Each stone was pre-programmed by Allah to hit a specific
target.
The pebbles shot at their targets with such force, as to enter
the body and come out of the other side.
Abraha’s army continued the march towards the Kaaba,
when the elephants refused to move forward. Allah ordered
the elephants to stop.
5. 40 years after the people of Mecca saw this miracle,
they were asked to believe that Muhammad (S) was a
Prophet.
After seeing assassin birds covering the sky, and after
witnessing Allah wiping out an entire army, why was it
so hard for the Meccans to believe in the miracle of the
Quran??
6. Did you see how your Lord dealt with the people of the elephant?
Didn’t he destroy all their evil plans?
