Abraham was born in Mesopotamia around 4000 years ago. He rejected his people's idol worship and believed in the one God Allah. After realizing the sun and moon were not gods, he understood Allah was the supreme creator. Abraham left his home and family in Ur due to his beliefs and settled in Palestine with his wife Sarah. From their descendants came the prophets Moses and Jesus. Abraham established the rites of Hajj and built the Kaaba in Mecca as the first house of worship for Allah. Ishmael, Abraham's son with Hagar, also helped build the Kaaba and his descendants grew into Arab tribes like the Quraysh who cared for pilgrims to Mecca.
