Abraham lived in Ur around 4000 years ago when people had begun worshipping idols instead of Allah. As a child, Abraham rejected idol worship and searched for the true religion. By observing the stars, moon and sun, he concluded that Allah is the most powerful creator. Abraham preached monotheism but his people refused to listen and planned to kill him by fire. However, Allah protected Abraham and he later settled in Palestine with his family. Abraham established the Kaaba in Mecca as the first house of worship for Allah. His son Ishmael also grew up there and his descendants, including the prophet Muhammad, formed the Arab tribes.
