The Firebird Suite Analysis
The Firebird Suite is a ballet composed by Igor Stravinsky in 1910. I am particularly fond of this
piece, and place it in my personal top five greatest musical compositions of all time. I first
listened to this piece back in 1999 when Disney s, Fantasia 2000 was released. While I do not
remember the visuals of the film, I recall the musicquite clearly. I have forgotten about, The Firebird
Suite until I recently bought the CD, Stravinsky: The Rite of Spring, Firebird Suite (1999) at
Barnes and Noble. Listening to the piece again brought on a whirlwind of emotions and memories.
For the purpose of time, I will be focusing primarily on the last movement of the suite. The
movement starts in the key of B major in 3/2 time with the french horn, harp, and strings playing
first. Dynamic wise, the movement starts in piano while the french... Show more content on

My experience as a music major in SUNY Potsdam attributed toward my various reactions
throughout this piece. Additionally, my fellow musicians at the Crane School of Music
impacted the way I view this type of music. While I already came into college with an
appreciation for classical music, my peers provided me with new ways to view this type of
music, and I learned much by observing them play. Beforehand, I could not put into words the
emotions and experiences I felt while listening to classical music. Interacting with and learning
from my peers provided me a mean to do so. The Firebird Suite is a piece of music that truly
engages me and brings about a variety of emotions and memories. Listening to this music gives
me a sense of joy and pride of being a musician and reminds me of why I love listening to this
type of music. While other individuals may prefer different types of music, this shows how music
can impact people in various ways. This is important for music therapists to understand as this can
be used as a mean to heal our

Tuskegee Airmen Induction
The work force with the black communities were scarce due to segregation and discrimination.
However, after Pearl Harbor, opportunities arisen in the U.S. armed forces where they were
reaching higher numbers of Black men becoming aviators. The Tuskegee Airmen squadron then
became a result of an experiment to test the efforts from Black military aviators. They were not
expected to succeed, yet that did not stop them from displaying their skills in the all black units.
Their work descriptions were not to work as bombers but as to protect them as the bombers
release the load for an attack. The black airmen became single engine or multi engine pilots and
were trained at Tuskegee Army Air Field in Tuskegee, Alabama. There were photos of the engines

as a symbol of the ability of a Black man to persevere through obstacles towards excellence. In
1943, the 99th Pursuit Squadron was assigned first to Tunisia, then to a combat mission in the
German held Island of Pantelleria. Davis was recalled to to Tuskegee to take over a larger all

Myrtle Wilson Thesis
Is Myrtle Wilson the antithesis of Daisy Buchanan? Fitzgerald presents Myrtle and Daisy in
similar but different ways. For example, Fitzgerald presents them though they re appearance,
behaviour, how they perceive themselves and how others perceive them. Fitzgerald presents
Myrtle s appearance through light imagery suggesting she is a thickish figure of a woman
blocking out the light the lexes thickish figure suggest that Myrtle gives off a sensual ambience,
this also suggests that Myrtle is quite broad and blocks out the light . Oppositely Fitzgerald
presents Daisy as cool as their white dresses this demonstrates that daisy s appearance is light

The Marine Corps Should Have No Restrictions On Tattoos Essay
Winston Churchill, President Theodore Roosevelt, and John Fetterman they all have something in
common and that is tattoos. I am here to argue that tattoos can view as freedom of expression,
strong Naval tradition, and more importantly no hindrance on job performance. The Marine Corps
should have no restrictions on tattoos. Over the past 50 years tattoos have continued to grow in
popularity, yet the Marine Corps wants to place restrictions on their service members; claiming
their policy is design to help their service members to maintain a discipline appearance. It would be
proven that tattoo is viewed as favorable by royalty and the elite. Freedom of expression, Before
one can truly understand the stance of an argument, you have to understand the topic. After
carefully reviewing reliable resource it was discovered that the art of tattooing can easily be dated
back to the 4th millennium BC (Before the Common Era) mummified bodies discovered in ancient
Egypt. Archeologists found themselves identifying tribes as well as historical information the

Out Of The Past Themes
Out of the Past is definitely an interesting movie with a lot of things to talk about. I will touch
briefly upon two main things I have noticed during the screen: the film noire genre and the image of
the femme fatale.
Provided the dark theme of the storyline, film noire is definitely the way to go in terms of genre.
The story follows Jeff Bailey in his quest to wrap up his old unfinished businesses, all the while
tangled up in a web of deceit and plotting of a shady businessman and his girlfriend. There are the
underlying themes of lust, betrayal, violence and some deaths. A lot of the scenes also make use of
low key lighting to intensify the drama, thus contributing to the melodramatic and expressionistic
attributes of the film. For example,

Factors Influencing Nursing Among Nurses
Title: Factors influencing professionalism in nursing among nurses in a hospital in Riyadh, Saudi
Arabia.
INTRODUCTION
Statement of the problem
Healthcare organizations in Saudi Arabia are very dependent on expatriate nurses to meet the
demands of health staffing, a situation exacerbated by the current global nursing shortages and
retention issues (Almalki, Fitzgerald, Clark, 2011). I propose to study the factors that influence the
professionalism in nursing amongst nurses from different countries in a hospital in Saudi Arabia. I
am particularly interested in this field as I have encountered nurses behaving unprofessionally in a
hospital setting.
According to Miller, Adams and Beck (1993), formal education in a university setting and education
with a scientific background are critical for professionalism in nursing. A study done by Rees,
Monrouxe, and McDonald (2015), expressed that while nursing students are shown professionalism
through formal educational module, they ordinarily encounter workplace based professionalism
dilemmas that are frequently created by registered nurses. Peer relationships in nursing is also
important in maintaining the standards of professionalism (Padgett, 2013).
Purpose of the study
The purpose of the study is to determine the factors influencing professionalism in nursing among
nurses in a hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Theoretical framework
The theoretical framework that I would use in this research paper is the Hall s

Principles of Physics in Ultrasound Essay
Principles of Physics in Ultrasound
Physics has become an important part of medicine allowing specialist doctors and radiographers to
rapidly access a patient s condition and to help in long term diagnosis.
This enables doctor s to treat patients before their condition deteriorates.
This procedure would not be possible without the use of X rays, CAT scans, MRI scans, ultrasound
and endoscopes, which allow doctors to see inside the body with little or no surgery.
Without such equipment doctors would be forced to use invasive techniques, which could cause
patients more harm as it increases the risk of infection.

The early work in the 20th century used ultrasound as a therapy tool and it was not until the 1940 s
that research began into its use as a diagnostic tool.
The use of ultrasound in medicine began during and shortly after the 2nd World War in various
centres around the world. (NSC, UK national screening committee)
The work of Dr.Karl Theodore Dussik in Austria in 1942 on transmission ultrasound investigation of
the brain provided the first published work on medical ultrasonic s.
Although other workers in the USA, Japan and Europe have also been cited as pioneers, the work
of Professor Ian Donald and his colleagues in Glasgow, in the mid 1950s, did much to facilitate the
development of practical technology and applications.
This lead to the wider use of ultrasound in medical practice in the subsequent decades.
Rapid technological advances in electronics and piezoelectric materials provided further
improvements from energy to greyscale images, and from still images to real time moving images.
The technical advances at this time led to a rapid growth in the applications to which ultrasound
could be put.
The development of Doppler ultrasound had been progressing alongside the imaging technology,
but the fusing of the two technologies in Duplex scanning and the subsequent development of
colour Doppler imaging provided even more scope for investigating the

Mergers And Acquisitions Essay
Introduction Mergers and acquisitions immediately impact organizations with changes in
ownership, in ideology, and eventually, in practice. There are multiple reasons, motives, economic
forces and institutional factors that can, taken together or in isolation, influence corporate decisions
to engage in mergers or acquisitions. The financial risks of merging with or acquiring an
organization in another country and how those risks can be mitigated are important issues for
corporations to conduct research on. This paper will examine the sensible and dubious reasons for
mergers and acquisitionsand the benefits and costs of the cash and stock transactions.

Cash advance may be safer for the buyer, but getting the company at the other end to agree may be

An Irrevocable Letter of Credit is a good option for both parties because it is a letter from a bank
guaranteeing that a buyer s payment to a seller will be received on time and for the correct amount
(Week 5, 2006). According to the week five lecture, the U.S. organization should select a major
bank that has considerable experience with irrevocable letters of credit. The major bank handling
the Irrevocable Letter of Credit can advise the least risky method of handling the transaction. The
general idea is that funds are transferred from the foreign customer s trusted financial institution to
the organization s bank once the terms of the letter of credit are met. An Irrevocable Letter of
Credit is one financial instrument that can help organizations make sales to a foreign entity safely.
A few decades ago, some U.S. companies began to explore another takeover solution, namely
partial or total acquisition of independent non U.S. companies (Week 5, 2006). In this day, there are
a significant percentage of merger and acquisition transactions, which are cross border. Even in
combinations of two U.S. multinationals, the percentage of international business being
incorporated can be a considerable economic portion of the total (Week 5, 2006).

Mcintosh s Argument Towards The Idea Of The Invisible...
To answer this question, I will be confirming McIntosh s argument towards the ideas of the
invisible knapsack by using instances from my life. I agree with McIntosh s statement of how
as a white person we typically carry around this baggage of these unearned assets of which we
have no clue we really carry1. The idea that myself, as a white woman, carry around this invisible
knapsack is astonishing, yet true. I never knew how entitled I appeared to be as a white woman.
However, thinking back on experiences throughout my life I carried around that knapsack since
the beginning. When I was a young girl starting head start there were some different races in my
classroom. However, the colored girls were always off doing rather boring activities aside from
us white girls. I had an invisible knapsack privilege at that time to have more joy in a school
activity due to the color of my skin. A different time would be closer to today. Over the past
summer, I was selected to be one of the students to go on a trip with a firm to Chicago. While at
Chicago we were in groups, and in my group from the Tulsa office was only one colored person.
At the time I did not think anything of it. Although, when we arrive in Chicago and met numerous
high level firm members none of those do I recall being a person of color.

The book starts out with an introduction that is a few pages long that includes information on the
first and second Marnes attack, a map of the region, explains what countries were involved at this
particular time, key leaders, and provided some much needed background details pre battle. It
would take the combined efforts of French, British, American, and two Italian divisions to defeat
the German offensive. Chapter one starts out talking about the First Battle of the Marne in 1914
and how successful the Allied forces were. The battle took place in the beautiful Marne River
Valley, it was known for its famous champagne and breathtaking land views. This First Battle
immediately obtained an important status with the French and British people because it was the

Neiberg wrote the Second Battle of the Marne that covers this specific battle that took place in

different historians, and accounts of specific attacks and counterattacks that happened within the
battle as well. To write the book Neiberg used several primary sources, which enhanced the
overall detail of the book. There were a few parts that were confusing in the beginning of the
book where he compares the First Battle of the Marne to the second and how the Armies and
countries were different in their techniques, skills, and weaponry but its hard to depict which
battle he is talking about at times. Overall, I liked the detail in the chapters and that the author did
add commentary and not just fact after fact. I also liked the he focused on the French army and

Essay on Outlaw Recombinant Bovine Growth Hormone Now
Outlaw Recombinant Bovine Growth Hormone Now
For a moment, put yourself in John Elway s shoes. Imagine getting paid thousands of dollars to do
a milk promotion. Now, would you still do the promotion if you knew the milk had come from a
cow injected with hormones? The use of rBGH, Recombinant Bovine Growth Hormone, has
become a concern in the dairy industry. The controversy is over whether or not the hormone is
harmful to the cows and people.
In animals and humans, there is a growth hormone produced. This protein hormone, produced in the
pituitary gland, is fundamental for normal growth, development, and health maintenance. It was
discovered sixty years ago that by injecting cows with GH, the growth hormone extracted from ...

Scientific evidence from the United States, England and Europe shows that complications with the

When the police arrived, they were able to observe her shaken state, with fresh injuries on her
forearm and her face. They also observed the frantic state she was in while she was trying to
gather belongings and her children so they could leave. The State charged Davis with a felony
violation. The State s only witnesses were the two police officers who responded to the 911 call.
Both officers testified that McCottry exhibited injuries that appeared to be recent, but neither
officer could testify as to the cause of the injuries. McCottry presumably could have testified as to
whether Davis was her assailant, but she did not appear. Over Davis s objection, based on the
Confrontation Clause of the Sixth Amendment, the trial court admitted the recording of her
exchange with the 911 operator, and the jury convicted him (Davis v. Washington, 2012). Davis
appealed to the Washington Court of Appeals and then to the Supreme Court of Washington. It is
here that we will focus time on how the decisions were made affirming Davis conviction. Davis
appealed based on the Confrontation Clause of the Sixth Amendment. The judge at this time would

How Did Tom Robinson Change In To Kill A Mockingbird
Harper Lee s To Kill A Mockingbird is set in Maycomb, Alabama in the 1930s. Racism is ever
present toward blacks and the trial of Tom Robinson, an African American, clearly displays this.
Tom Robinson was accused of raping a white woman. The huge detail in this is that it was a
white woman. Racial issues are really brought about because of that detail. People during this
time would easily take a white man s word over that of a black man, so nobody would ever trust
Tom Robinson, especially since he was a black man being accused of a crime against a white
woman. Tom Robinson really can t do anything to help his case. The only person that can help
him is Atticus. While Atticus does not believe that he will win the case, he knows that it is right
to do everything he can to help Tom. He knows right from wrong and he will do everything in his
power to help people see that, and to help Tom survive this case. Tom Robinson could also be

I would hear this every time coming from my parents as I reach for the power button of my
laptop. It seems like with the growing belief, time is something priceless , we need not to spend time
on wasteful things such as video games. But, why video games receive such an outrage from the
people in the first place? Probably because of its long history associated with violence and
addiction, video games stereotype had become a practice unconsciously accepted by people
from every culture. To this day, gamers are still placed at the bottom of the ladder being the
worthless one, receiving labels that do not describe who they are as a person, but criticizing what
they like to do. However, as our society moved forward with technology and better understands,
video games have proven to be outweighed any criticism out there with its benefits for individual
and society. (which all dated back to the purpose of its creation)
Games originally created a world in which players freely becomes what they want by working
hard enough. It is unlike any real world situation as they require no social status from you and
based purely on the brain s talent. This gives rise to a lot of people from different places around
the country. The poor class, the underrepresented people succeeded at video game received

A Modest Inaccuracy
Mathematics is a logical and precise subject. Without precision in math everything is imprecise.
A modest inaccuracy can produce a catastrophe. For example, if a doctor fails to calculate the
correct amount of medicine to give a patient, it could result in a serious complication, such as
death. A further example is the logic and precision it takes to construct a building. If there is one
minor miscalculation the whole building could collapse, causing mass destruction. As specified
above, you have to be very cautious in math, especially when designing a building. One tangible
example would be the Sampoong Department Store collapse in South Korea. On June 29 1995, the
5 level department store collapsed, injuring 937 people and killing 502.

English only sink or swim? Yeah right! Instead of English Only Advocates worrying about
bilingual education cost in our school system, why not take advantage of the skills our ethnic
minorities possess to move our economy forward? They are obviously not thinking clearly, because
the benefit of bilinguals, significantly outweigh the bad. To deny our youth the opportunity for
upward mobility and skill to become more marketable in a worldwide capacity is inhumane. They

They should encourage and support students to the attainment of bilingual or multilingual skills.
They should also consider that students coming from homes where two or more languages are used
will face difficulty in applying while in the school environment. The fact that so few Americans

inadequacies. The American economy will benefit from bilingual education because historically
multilingual personnel are smarter, academic skills are sharper, and their contributions to society
are immeasurable. English is the one language that offers the biggest market, the largest pool of

Resident Evil Vs Biohazard
Players who follow Resident Evil closely know that the game made its mark with heavyweight
horror turns and battles. Which is why Resident Evil 7 is said to be more than that. Resident
Evil 7: Biohazard is going to be different. It is described to be a major course correction from
Resident Evil 4. It opens up in a scary house in the teaser demo released. The demo, titled
Beginning Hour, looks nothing like its predecessors. The series seems to be distant in feature,
for RE 7. Comparing RE 4 and Biohazard, The Verge has it that the only thing these games have
in common are both games can t be played today. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard brings back the
horror. The demo features the Kitchen. In the Virtual Reality demo, the vibe is similar to the Saw.
You start with a chair, and your hands are tied. But that VR demo makes it quite immersive for
players. If the character gets stabbed in the leg, it s as almost if the leg physically twitches in

Competition And Monopoly And Innovation Within The Workplace
Introduction In order to remain competitive many companies have integrated a perspective known
as monopolistic competition. Monopolistic competition is a concept that refers to the case where
there are many sellers of a differentiated product and entry into or exit from the industry is rather
easy in the long run.( Salvatore, D., 2011p.373) When we consider the aspect of Transportation and
Logistic companies, we find that there are many that have different products but are suited to meet
the same needs of the consumer. This paper will entail all those portions that help Transportation
and Logistic companies find advantages of implementing both competition and monopoly and
innovation within the workplace. As companies continue to grow into a particular industry, the
threat of substitute goodbecomes substantial, allowing for more to arise. With the rise of these
products; companies can began to see a decline in sales. Many businesses can find out what are the
advantages of innovation in order to derive a more unique perception to stay ahead of the
competition. One concept that will be mentioned that has allowed some logistic companies to get
ahead is that of Intermodal Transportation and how it has allowed many companies to benefit
economically. Innovation is a derivative that has allowed many businesses to flourish and continue
to gain a competitive edge within its particular industry and the market. Many transportation and

Portrait Head Of Caligula Analysis
Portrait Head of Caligula
This bust of Emperor Caligula, was thought to have been made somewhere within Asia Minor,
around the year 40 AD. There is no known record of who sculpted this bust, and no accurate
record of who it was made for or why it was made. It was sculpted entirely out of marble.
After Caligula was murdered by his guards in 41 AD, almost all recorded statues and portraits of
him were destroyed, as well as a lot of writings that were done about him. This led to modern day
historians having to use later historians writings about him, which has led to possible inaccuracies

Britannia, as well as rebuilding the pantheon, and also the construction of the temple of Venus and

Greece the cultural capital of the Roman Empire. His love of all things Greek, lead to the Greek

After Emperor Trajan died in 117 AD, Hadrian quickly secured legitimacy to his claim to power

Renewable Energy On The Uav
What the renewable energy is?
Renewable energy is energy or power that is created from natural resources such as wind power,
oceanic waves, and the sun. These resources can be used to replace other energy generators such as
electricity and gasoline.
The aim:
On this project aiming is to use renewable energy on the UAV , therefore, it will be able to fly for
longer distance without needs of landing for recharging or filled with fuel.
In addition to that, solar panels are the reasonable solution for that which we can categorize these
panels into:
Polycrystalline
Monocrystalline
Hybrid
All Black
These types of panels have different standard and verity of reducing energy, also they are hard
panels and heavy which could produce a great amount of energy and mostly are used for house
usages .However, Ececom Flexible panels give us this option to have a very lighter weight and
great energy to be used on the UAV. Table 1 shows the details of these panels:

Art Movements In The Movement Of The Dada Movement
In the 20th century, there were many art movements that influenced the way we produce art and
design to this very day. Along with the movements, there were several artists that contributed to
making these movements great. During the first World War, as a reaction to the chaos and turmoil,
arose a movement called Dada. The movement started in 1916 in ZГјrich, Switzerland and ended in
1924 ( Dada Movement, Artists and Major Works. ). In 1922, Tristan Tarza wrote a piece called

L.H.O.O.Q (fig 3) is a play on the Mona Lisa, crafted in 1919. It is an excellent example of the
mockery to traditional art. The Mona Lisa in his work L.H.O.O.Q. is printed on a postcard,
where then Duchamp drew a mustache and goatee on the painted woman photographed. He then
labeled it L.H.O.O.Q., and it became an iconic piece of Dada work. If someone who is fluent in
the French language and native to the tongue were to pronounce these letters, it would read Elle a
chaud au cul , which can translate to She has a hot arse. ( Dada Movement, Artists and Major
Works. ) Dada was said to be very anti art, so by taking a well known traditional piece from 1517
painted by Leonardo Da Vinci made a huge statement on how Duchamp was throwing away all
traditional practices of what art was before Dada (Flask).
There are also arguments on what the deeper meaning of the title of the work could be, and how
perhaps Duchamp was attempting to make the Mona Lisa even further androgynous (Jack).
Interestingly, Duchamp revised this piece (fig 4) in 1965, and titled it L.H.O.O.Q. Shaved. The
revision of the work is a white sheet of paper with another photograph that seems to be a playing
card of the Mona Lisa, clean shaven placed in the middle of the paper, with the title written
underneath. The MoMA currently has it in their collection, a gift given to the museum from Philip
Johnson (Duchamp).

Staying out of drama can help one feel less stressed. Avoiding it can also stop individuals from

Christians Celebrations of Holy Communion Essay
Christians Celebrations of Holy Communion
There are many different ways in which Christians celebrate Holy Communion, depending on the
denomination of Christianity, in which they belong. Holy Communion is one of the seven
sacraments found in Christianity. A sacrament is an outward physical act with an inward, deeper
meaning, which can be obtained through various, specific rituals. In the case of Holy Communion,
which is also known as the Eucharist meal or Mass, Christian worshippers believe that they
receive the body and the blood of Jesus Christ, through the act of eating the bread, which
symbolises Christ s body, and by drinking the wine, said to be his blood. This sacrament originates

God sacrificed his son, Jesus, for the good of all people and so that they too would depart from
the slavery and the submission to sins and wrongdoings, in order to enter into a pure state of
forgiveness and freedom. This is the key reason why Christians, of all branches, hold a great
importance to Holy Communion, which remembers Christ s sacrifice to them, which frees them of
their sins up till this day.
Even though, most, if not all Christian denominations agree about the origins of such a ritual, they
now have different opinions about how the service is conducted. The Roman Catholic Church
believes in the idea of transubstantiation, which is the belief that the bread and wine that they
consume at the Eucharist meal, has over the years, mystically transformed into Jesus real body
and blood. Roman Catholics celebrate Holy Communion or Mass regularly. Roman Catholics
believe that the Mass is a sacrifice. Each time it is celebrated Christ renews the sacrifice that he
made for the sins of the world when he was crucified. This is why they frequently celebrate it. In
some Churches, only people who have been confirmed are allowed to participate in the celebration
of Holy Communion, whereas in the Roman Catholic Church there is no such restriction. This
emphasises how Jesus had welcomed everybody in his own life and had treated everyone

Essay On The Ottoman Empire
In the late 12th century, near the city of Constantinople, an empire originated. This empire was
founded by Turkish natives who wanted to build an empire after their leader, Osman. This
empire had a sultan, who was in the highest position, but was run by a small ruling class. This
imperial system was run by a power of Muslim control over non Muslim populations. They
allowed their people to live under the laws of their own religions. Non Muslims and Christians
however, were given limited freedom, but were still treated as second class citizens.
Furthermore, the Ottoman s held a strong political pyramid. The sultan was the highest and at the
top, followed by a group of wealthy leaders, and then the commoners, who were known as the
Rayyah. Industrialization was a main focus of this empire. Their goal was to develop cities into
commercial and industrial centers. Fortunately for them, they were able to make trade routes within
their empire. In the social life of the Ottomans, the women were put under harsh restrictions from
the Islamic Law. Their life outside of the home was limited, but by no means non existent. The
Ottoman empire was known for their strong military structure. It was organized by Osman in the

performs in the issues at hand. On one aspect of the coin, religion can be used positively in

Samuel Kramer s Argument That The Ancient Civilization Of...
Samuel Kramer s argument that the ancient civilization of Sumer and the modern day world are
fundamentally analogous (p. 250) is supported heavily throughout his literary work History
Begins at Sumer, and has evidenced this from the social perspective, as well as from an
institutional one. The first social comparison Kramer mentions is that of Juvenile Delinquency.
Starting from page 14, Kramer describes a fathers point of view about this social disease and
describe that his child is one of few who, rather than attend school, meet at the street corner and
loiter. He continues, with the father expressing his anger. I, night and day am tortured because
you. Night and Day you waste in pleasures (p. 17) is a perfect example of the parent s emotions,
and can be related to the modern household, for both the ancient parents and those of today focus
on making sure their children rise to economic success. In Sumer, the father wishes his son to be
like him, a scribe, and does not understand why the son doesn t work towards that goal (p. 15).
This contrasts with the modern family, where parents want children to, not only supplant them,
but ascend to a higher economic position. Nevertheless, in today s world and that of the past,
juveniles forming like minded gangs prevails, and is but one example of comparison. Secondly,
best described on page 11 of History Begins at Sumer, apple polishing was yet another example
used within Kramer s argument. In 2016, many see the only way to

The Hellas Planitia colony chose to bring livestock embryos and seeds. The livestock embryos
could be fertilized and the animal would be born. This would be effective because the livestock
embryos would weigh less, than the animal itself. Something else that made the Mars X colony
stand by itself was its all organic way. Unlike other colonies, that brought GMO foods or frozen
food, the Mars X colony didn t do that. The goal was to give fresh food so that the people on
Mars will have a healthy diet. Since GMO foods have chemicals, the Mars X colony didn t want
any unwanted stuff in the body. In the Martian, Mark Watney used his own feces to plant
potatoes. This is similar to the Mars X colony and others did hydroponic farming. Since human
feces will have nutrients that weren t taken into the digestive system, those nutrients will be able
to help the plants grow. In hydroponic farming, the nutrients are delivered in a water solvent so
that the plants can absorb the vitamins and minerals they need. In conclusion, both ways of
obtaining food were similar. In order for all of this to happen to happen you need energy. Though
there were many similarities between how the colonies would receive energy and the Martian, but
other colonies used extra energy sources. The Hellas Planitia colony said that they would get

The Lord s Preparing The First Generation
1.In section one of Numbers which is the Lord s Preparing the First Generation to Enter the
Promised Land covered in chapters one through ten there seems to a very specific message that
God desires to communicate to the original audience. Although various opinions may exist
regarding what this message may be the clearest message that appears to be displayed is that God
has various ordinances and rules regarding the worship, day to day life, and travel of the Israelite
nation which set them apart from the nations around them and must be strictly followed and
adhered to. Chapter two of Numbers gives an account of the organization of the camp of the
Israelitesafter they had been numbered by tribe. Each tribe had a specific leader, a specific head
of each group of three thirds, and a specific location in which they were supposed to camp
relative to the tabernacle. The purpose for all of this was set out by God in order to protect the
ark and the tabernacle along with encampment as a whole from the presence of God and invaders
who sought to raid the encampment. Chapters three and four along with seven, eight, nine, and ten
all have to do very specifically with the roles of the Levities and tabernacle worship and the very
strict guidelines that applied to both of these. The Kohathite clan of the Levities which was to

the state not to purchase the material. That will serve about five million Texas public schools for at
least a decade. Most parent want the best for their children and that includes an education, but how
can they deny climate change and call it an opinion if there is sufficient evidence to say otherwise?

The entire world is experiencing these changes and it will not vanish just because some individuals
are ignoring the causes. We have to face reality and admit that it is happening before we can change
it.
Some might argue that the Green House Effect is needed because it allows the earth to trap
greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere, which are needed in order for the earth to stay warm and
avoid extremes; however, it has never resulted in year that has been labeled to be the hottest
year on record (Rampell). Some argue that it s just a part of the natural process the has been
occurring since the beginning of time, the earth warms up and cools off it happens. However, not
at such an alarming rates NASA has been looking at records that indicate that the warming trend
over the last 50 years is nearly twice that for the last 100 years . Meaning the earth is warmer
today than it was 100 years ago. The larger the amount of carbon dioxide, one of the greenhouse
gasses, that is in the atmosphere the warmer the earth becomes (Talking to Children about Climate
Change).
Another member of the Truth in Texas Textbooks coalition, Karin Gililland, expressed that young
children are vulnerable and what they hear they believe is the truth , which I agree when children

Tyranny In Greece
In the ancient Greek city states and over many centuries, the government (political power) took
many forms: held by a single individual: (monarchies and tyrants), or by a select few (oligarchies
and aristocracies), or by every male citizen (democracy).
A monarchy is a type of governance of the people by a single individual, with the power retained by
blood lines. In the pre Classical period, ancient Greece was composed of small geographic units
ruled by a local king.
People in these small geographic units, paid taxes to the king, obeyed his laws, and depended on
him for their defense.
Greek monarchies were only distinguishable from a tyranny when the hereditary ruler was more
caring and ruled in the genuine interest of his people.
Due to fighting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, Greek tyrants were not necessarily evil rulers, they simply looked after their own interests
(e.g. Pisistratus rule in Athens).
Sparta avoided tyranny, probably because of the need for unity amongst citizens against helots.
As Tyranny governments have the tendency at being insecure, and try to maintain their power by
becoming increasingly oppressive; they decline in ancient Greece because tyrants became greedy
and harsh and were overthrown.
Democracy is the rule by the people (governance by the people).
Democracy was based on principle that all citizens of the city state of Athens had right to attend
and speak at assembly (women, slaves metics were not citizens).
The most important political posts were the 10 generals that were elected by the assembly each
year. Citizens were brought in by random lottery to serve on the Assembly for one year. Assembly
members decisions were made through public debate and voting. The Council (smaller group) was
responsible for day today running of

Michael Sandel Morality
In the video, Michael Sandel discusses moral reasoning and moral decisions that people make.
He starts by giving an scenario where you are the driver of a trolley car, and you realize that the
breaks are broken. Ahead on the tracks there are 5 workers that are in the way. There is a
separate track that only has one worker on it that you can turn onto instead. He then gives the
audience the choice of staying on the track and killing the 5 workers or going onto the other
track and only killing one. The vast majority choose to redirect the trolley and only kill the one
worker. Then Sandel gives another variation of the same story where you are an onlooker of the
scene and there is a fat man leaning over the bridge and if you were to push him over... Show more

One moral principle is consequentialists. They believe that it depends on the consequences that
result. For example, that it is better for 1 to die than for 5 to die. Consequentialists locate the
morality in the consequence of the act. Within this principle is the theory of utilitarianism which
is the right thing to do is to maximize utility, or over balance of pleasure over pain. In other
words, the right thing to do will maximize the overall level of happiness. He gives a real life
example of the boat The Mignonette whose boat crashed and they were stuck on a lifeboat with
no water and little food. The young cabin boy drank sea water and appeared as if he would die
soon. So, the other 3 men on the lifeboat decided that for the good of the majority, they would
kill him and eat him. The audience was asked whether it was morally right for them to do this.
They were also asked if they would change their opinion had the cabin boy giving consent, or if
they would have done a lottery to see who would die. Many people did not stick to this exact
principle when Sandel altered the scenarios that were given slightly. This could be because of
another moral principle called categorical which locates morality in certain duties and rights. So,
in many cases, the people who changed their response did not think it was morally right for them to
take another person s life into their own hands where as in the initial scenarios, they didn t have

How Motivation and Leadership Theories Can Be Applied.
MOTIVATION THEORIES: Goal Setting Theory: In the late 1960s, Edwin Locke proposed that
intentions to work toward a goad are a major source of work motivation. That is, goals tel an
employee what needs to be done and how much effort will need to be made. Specific hard goals
produce a higher level of output than does the generalized goal of do your best . Why? The
specificity of the goal itself seems to act as an internal stimulus. For instance, when a trucker
commits to making 12 round trips between Toronto and Buffalo, New York, each week, this
intention gives him a specific objective to try to attain. The conclusion is that intentions as
articulated in terms of hard and specific goals are the motivating force. Under... Show more content

extrinsic factors(Hygiene factors) are associated with dissatisfaction. The two factor theory was
proposed by psychologist Frederick Herzberg. According to him, the factors leading to job
satisfaction are separate and distinct from those that lead to job disssatisfaction. Therefore,

The Causes Of Organized Crime In The United States
Organized crime, which gained infamous attention in America back in the 1920s during the
prohibition era, can be defined as systematical criminal activities that are controlled by a powerful
group for profit on a city wide, interstate, and sometimes international scale. These types of
organizations engage in illegal activities as a way of generating income, or black money. They
structure like a business, freely taking on violence and bribery to preserve their operations and
maintain internal and external control. Internal controls provide assurance regarding the
achievement of operational objectives (making sure they are effective, efficient, and accurate),
while external controls include different resources and contacts (suppliers). Everything they do,
from gambling to prostitution to dealing with drugs, goes against all government regulations. But
what forces them to commit crimes that are against government regulations and what do they gain
personally? How can we stop, or at least lessen the activities of these crimes?
Organized Crime is considered a major threat to the development and security of their country. They
gain profit through the evaluation of countries risks, benefits, and markets, and have taken to
multiple forms of corruption to invade political, economic, and social levels not only in their own
country, but in the world. Today, organized crime still poses as a major threat in American society
with their illegal operations, especially with the growth of

P G S Pert Plus: A Pan European Product?
QUESTION 1
How attractive is the pan European market for Pert Plus in terms of demand potential?
Competition? Any cannibalization problems?
P G is an international supplier of consumer goods it is a global leader in health and beauty care
products, detergents, diapers and food . P G s presence in the hair care market in the U.S has
been strengthened by innovative technology BC 18 and the replacement of an old brand Pert with
Pert Plus a mild shampoo with a fully effective conditioner. P G decided to introduce BC 18 in
Europe. Traditionally, the European market is highly competitive the main rivals are Colgate,
Unileaver, and L Oreal. The European market is segmented (i.e. value based) and... Show more

Brand choice? Should the BC 18 technology be introduced with a pan European name, or with
local brand names, or even with a mixture of both approaches? Research indicates in Europe
there are large price differences among hair care products. P G has decided that it should place
the new shampoo in the premium priced segment; this is done in order to keep up the image of
the shampoo as a high quality and innovative product. P G should charge premium price in each
country to be sold for 4.99 DM for the 200 ml bottle and for 5.99 DM for the 250 ml bottle in all
the countries which had had been accepted during the consumer tests. The company cannot charge
a price very few people can afford, this will also not be profitable for the company.
P G is to become a leader in the European market of two in one hair products. The first year
objective is to attract new European customers from competing brands to shift to the use of
shampoo to BC 18. The aim is to exert a pull on the population in order to create a new market
niche inside the shampoo market and encourage the people to use the new BC 18. In effect BC 18
technology serves the core need of washing hair and therefore it has to compete with the different
national brands which are often well established.
As I see, the BC 18 technology should be introduced with a mixture of both approaches with a pan
European name and local brand names. If we just introduce

  • 3. The Firebird Suite Analysis The Firebird Suite is a ballet composed by Igor Stravinsky in 1910. I am particularly fond of this piece, and place it in my personal top five greatest musical compositions of all time. I first listened to this piece back in 1999 when Disney s, Fantasia 2000 was released. While I do not remember the visuals of the film, I recall the musicquite clearly. I have forgotten about, The Firebird Suite until I recently bought the CD, Stravinsky: The Rite of Spring, Firebird Suite (1999) at Barnes and Noble. Listening to the piece again brought on a whirlwind of emotions and memories. For the purpose of time, I will be focusing primarily on the last movement of the suite. Beforehand, I could not put into words the emotions and experiences I felt while listening to classical music. Interacting with and learning from my peers provided me a mean to do so. The Firebird Suite is a piece of music that truly engages me and brings about a variety of emotions and memories. Listening to this music gives me a sense of joy and pride of being a musician and reminds me of why I love listening to this type of music. I am here to argue that tattoos can view as freedom of expression, strong Naval tradition, and more importantly no hindrance on job performance. The Marine Corps should have no restrictions on tattoos. Over the past 50 years tattoos have continued to grow in popularity, yet the Marine Corps wants to place restrictions on their service members; claiming their policy is design to help their service members to maintain a discipline appearance. It would be proven that tattoo is viewed as favorable by royalty and the elite. Freedom of expression, Before one can truly understand the stance of an argument, you have to understand the topic. I will touch briefly upon two main things I have noticed during the screen: the film noire genre and the image of the femme fatale. Provided the dark theme of the storyline, film noire is definitely the way to go in terms of genre. The story follows Jeff Bailey in his quest to wrap up his old unfinished businesses, all the while tangled up in a web of deceit and plotting of a shady businessman and his girlfriend. There are the underlying themes of lust, betrayal, violence and some deaths. • 10. Factors Influencing Nursing Among Nurses Title: Factors influencing professionalism in nursing among nurses in a hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. INTRODUCTION Statement of the problem Healthcare organizations in Saudi Arabia are very dependent on expatriate nurses to meet the demands of health staffing, a situation exacerbated by the current global nursing shortages and retention issues (Almalki, Fitzgerald, Clark, 2011). I propose to study the factors that influence the professionalism in nursing amongst nurses from different countries in a hospital in Saudi Arabia. I am particularly interested in this field as I have encountered nurses behaving unprofessionally in a hospital setting. According to Miller, Adams and Beck (1993), formal education in a university setting and education with a scientific background are critical for professionalism in nursing. A study done by Rees, Monrouxe, and McDonald (2015), expressed that while nursing students are shown professionalism through formal educational module, they ordinarily encounter workplace based professionalism dilemmas that are frequently created by registered nurses. Peer relationships in nursing is also important in maintaining the standards of professionalism (Padgett, 2013). Purpose of the study The purpose of the study is to determine the factors influencing professionalism in nursing among nurses in a hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Principles of Physics in Ultrasound Essay Principles of Physics in Ultrasound Physics has become an important part of medicine allowing specialist doctors and radiographers to rapidly access a patient s condition and to help in long term diagnosis. This enables doctor s to treat patients before their condition deteriorates. This procedure would not be possible without the use of X rays, CAT scans, MRI scans, ultrasound and endoscopes, which allow doctors to see inside the body with little or no surgery. The use of ultrasound in medicine began during and shortly after the 2nd World War in various centres around the world. (NSC, UK national screening committee) The work of Dr.Karl Theodore Dussik in Austria in 1942 on transmission ultrasound investigation of the brain provided the first published work on medical ultrasonic s. Although other workers in the USA, Japan and Europe have also been cited as pioneers, the work of Professor Ian Donald and his colleagues in Glasgow, in the mid 1950s, did much to facilitate the development of practical technology and applications. This lead to the wider use of ultrasound in medical practice in the subsequent decades. Rapid technological advances in electronics and piezoelectric materials provided further improvements from energy to greyscale images, and from still images to real time moving images. The technical advances at this time led to a rapid growth in the applications to which ultrasound could be put. The development of Doppler ultrasound had been progressing alongside the imaging technology, but the fusing of the two technologies in Duplex scanning and the subsequent development of colour Doppler imaging provided even more scope for investigating the ... According to the week five lecture, the U.S. organization should select a major bank that has considerable experience with irrevocable letters of credit. • 13. Mcintosh s Argument Towards The Idea Of The Invisible... To answer this question, I will be confirming McIntosh s argument towards the ideas of the invisible knapsack by using instances from my life. I agree with McIntosh s statement of how as a white person we typically carry around this baggage of these unearned assets of which we have no clue we really carry1. The idea that myself, as a white woman, carry around this invisible knapsack is astonishing, yet true. I never knew how entitled I appeared to be as a white woman. However, thinking back on experiences throughout my life I carried around that knapsack since the beginning. When I was a young girl starting head start there were some different races in my classroom. However, the colored girls were always off doing rather boring activities aside from us white girls. I had an invisible knapsack privilege at that time to have more joy in a school activity due to the color of my skin. A different time would be closer to today. Over the past summer, I was selected to be one of the students to go on a trip with a firm to Chicago. While at Chicago we were in groups, and in my group from the Tulsa office was only one colored person. At the time I did not think anything of it. Although, when we arrive in Chicago and met numerous high level firm members none of those do I recall being a person of color. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The State s only witnesses were the two police officers who responded to the 911 call. Both officers testified that McCottry exhibited injuries that appeared to be recent, but neither officer could testify as to the cause of the injuries. McCottry presumably could have testified as to whether Davis was her assailant, but she did not appear. Racism is ever present toward blacks and the trial of Tom Robinson, an African American, clearly displays this. Tom Robinson was accused of raping a white woman. The huge detail in this is that it was a white woman. Racial issues are really brought about because of that detail. I would hear this every time coming from my parents as I reach for the power button of my laptop. It seems like with the growing belief, time is something priceless , we need not to spend time on wasteful things such as video games. But, why video games receive such an outrage from the people in the first place? Probably because of its long history associated with violence and addiction, video games stereotype had become a practice unconsciously accepted by people from every culture. To this day, gamers are still placed at the bottom of the ladder being the worthless one, receiving labels that do not describe who they are as a person, but criticizing what they like to do. For example, if a doctor fails to calculate the correct amount of medicine to give a patient, it could result in a serious complication, such as death. A further example is the logic and precision it takes to construct a building. If there is one minor miscalculation the whole building could collapse, causing mass destruction. As specified above, you have to be very cautious in math, especially when designing a building. One tangible example would be the Sampoong Department Store collapse in South Korea. Samuel Kramer s argument that the ancient civilization of Sumer and the modern day world are fundamentally analogous (p. 250) is supported heavily throughout his literary work History Begins at Sumer, and has evidenced this from the social perspective, as well as from an institutional one. The first social comparison Kramer mentions is that of Juvenile Delinquency. Starting from page 14, Kramer describes a fathers point of view about this social disease and describe that his child is one of few who, rather than attend school, meet at the street corner and loiter. He continues, with the father expressing his anger. I, night and day am tortured because you. Night and Day you waste in pleasures (p. 17) is a perfect example of the parent s emotions, and can be related to the modern household, for both the ancient parents and those of today focus on making sure their children rise to economic success. In Sumer, the father wishes his son to be like him, a scribe, and does not understand why the son doesn t work towards that goal (p. 15). This contrasts with the modern family, where parents want children to, not only supplant them, but ascend to a higher economic position. Nevertheless, in today s world and that of the past, juveniles forming like minded gangs prevails, and is but one example of comparison. • 42. Tyranny In Greece In the ancient Greek city states and over many centuries, the government (political power) took many forms: held by a single individual: (monarchies and tyrants), or by a select few (oligarchies and aristocracies), or by every male citizen (democracy). A monarchy is a type of governance of the people by a single individual, with the power retained by blood lines. In the pre Classical period, ancient Greece was composed of small geographic units ruled by a local king. People in these small geographic units, paid taxes to the king, obeyed his laws, and depended on him for their defense. Sparta avoided tyranny, probably because of the need for unity amongst citizens against helots. Democracy is the rule by the people (governance by the people). • 43. Michael Sandel Morality In the video, Michael Sandel discusses moral reasoning and moral decisions that people make. He starts by giving an scenario where you are the driver of a trolley car, and you realize that the breaks are broken. Ahead on the tracks there are 5 workers that are in the way. There is a separate track that only has one worker on it that you can turn onto instead. He then gives the audience the choice of staying on the track and killing the 5 workers or going onto the other track and only killing one. The vast majority choose to redirect the trolley and only kill the one worker. Then Sandel gives another variation of the same story where you are an onlooker of the scene and there is a fat man leaning over the bridge and if you were to push him over... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One moral principle is consequentialists. They believe that it depends on the consequences that result. For example, that it is better for 1 to die than for 5 to die. Consequentialists locate the morality in the consequence of the act. Within this principle is the theory of utilitarianism which is the right thing to do is to maximize utility, or over balance of pleasure over pain. In other words, the right thing to do will maximize the overall level of happiness. He gives a real life example of the boat The Mignonette whose boat crashed and they were stuck on a lifeboat with no water and little food. The young cabin boy drank sea water and appeared as if he would die soon. So, the other 3 men on the lifeboat decided that for the good of the majority, they would kill him and eat him. The audience was asked whether it was morally right for them to do this. They were also asked if they would change their opinion had the cabin boy giving consent, or if they would have done a lottery to see who would die. Many people did not stick to this exact principle when Sandel altered the scenarios that were given slightly. This could be because of another moral principle called categorical which locates morality in certain duties and rights. So, in many cases, the people who changed their response did not think it was morally right for them to take another person s life into their own hands where as in the initial scenarios, they didn t have ... • 44. How Motivation and Leadership Theories Can Be Applied. MOTIVATION THEORIES: Goal Setting Theory: In the late 1960s, Edwin Locke proposed that intentions to work toward a goad are a major source of work motivation. That is, goals tel an employee what needs to be done and how much effort will need to be made. Specific hard goals produce a higher level of output than does the generalized goal of do your best . Why? The specificity of the goal itself seems to act as an internal stimulus. For instance, when a trucker commits to making 12 round trips between Toronto and Buffalo, New York, each week, this intention gives him a specific objective to try to attain. The conclusion is that intentions as articulated in terms of hard and specific goals are the motivating force. Under... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Causes Of Organized Crime In The United States Organized crime, which gained infamous attention in America back in the 1920s during the prohibition era, can be defined as systematical criminal activities that are controlled by a powerful group for profit on a city wide, interstate, and sometimes international scale. These types of organizations engage in illegal activities as a way of generating income, or black money. They structure like a business, freely taking on violence and bribery to preserve their operations and maintain internal and external control. Internal controls provide assurance regarding the achievement of operational objectives (making sure they are effective, efficient, and accurate), while external controls include different resources and contacts (suppliers). Everything they do, from gambling to prostitution to dealing with drugs, goes against all government regulations. But what forces them to commit crimes that are against government regulations and what do they gain personally? How can we stop, or at least lessen the activities of these crimes? Organized Crime is considered a major threat to the development and security of their country. Should the BC 18 technology be introduced with a pan European name, or with local brand names, or even with a mixture of both approaches? Research indicates in Europe there are large price differences among hair care products. P G has decided that it should place the new shampoo in the premium priced segment; this is done in order to keep up the image of the shampoo as a high quality and innovative product. P G should charge premium price in each country to be sold for 4.99 DM for the 200 ml bottle and for 5.99 DM for the 250 ml bottle in all the countries which had had been accepted during the consumer tests. The company cannot charge a price very few people can afford, this will also not be profitable for the company. P G is to become a leader in the European market of two in one hair products. The first year objective is to attract new European customers from competing brands to shift to the use of shampoo to BC 18. The aim is to exert a pull on the population in order to create a new market niche inside the shampoo market and encourage the people to use the new BC 18. In effect BC 18 technology serves the core need of washing hair and therefore it has to compete with the different national brands which are often well established.
