2. PLANNING OF THE INTERVIEWS
In our group we came up with a topic that we all knew very well and were all extremely
passionate about. We felt that the Barclays Premier League was the most suitable topic.
Our 5 questions was..
Do you watch the premier league or not?
If you do what team do you support?
What is your review of your team this season?
What is your highlight of the league?
What do you think is going to take place in this summer’s transfer window?
What are your predictions for euro 2016 and next year’s premier league?
3. ZOOM MIC
We used a zoom mic to record our question and our responses. The most effective way to get a clean
sound from it is by adjusting the mic at a certain distance from your mouth, not too close and not too
far as this effects the proximity. We needed to be very weary of the environment we recorded in for
the acoustics so therefore we recorded in the studio and inside the college building. This helped us cut
out all the background noises that may have been heard.
4. DURING RECORDING
Whilst we were recording there were things had to be done to improve our overall interview. For
the first two interviews we did I interviewed somebody and another member of our group called
Tyrone indicated me when to start. Tyrone interviewed all the rest so I then indicated when he
should start. There were time were we had to do pickups meaning we has to delete and restart the
interview due to the lack of a continuous conversation or because of numerous amounts of word
stumbling. For my two interviews my voice sounded really clear and this is due to me speaking
into the mic at just the right distance. On the other, Tyrone put the mic extremely close to the mic
effecting the proximity. In the future Tyrone could adjust the distance making it a little further
away from his mouth. This will make his voice more effective and clearer.
5. DURING EDIT
Firstly the software that we used to edit our interviews was Logiz. We first imported and
converted all our sound files to the software so that we could play about with it and edit. We
then organised all our interviews in to the order we recorded in so that it was ready to be
trimmed. Whilst trimming, we looked for the most important things that we wanted to
include in our final sound. To do this we selected the part of each sound we wanted by using
T and then we used the scissors to cut it. We then included our soundtrack were we adjusted
the levels of the sound to low. The reason for this was to make our main thing which was
the interviews still clearly heard. The transitions and effects we used were one part was
humorous so we included no soundtrack but just his voice to make it entertaining.
