Sugar beet is grown in Pakistan from October to November. It is harvested in April and May and transported to processing facilities. There, it undergoes cleaning, diffusion to extract sucrose, purification, evaporation to concentrate sucrose, crystallization through centrifugation, washing, and packaging. Byproducts include beet tops for feed and molasses. Four sugar mills process beet in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while two operate in Punjab and Sindh. Pakistan aims to increase beet sugar production to address water shortages.
