This white paper discusses using 60GHz wireless backhaul to address increasing mobile data demand in dense urban areas. It notes that service providers are deploying more small cells and traditional base stations to boost capacity. However, this requires efficient backhaul solutions, as fiber may not reach all locations. 60GHz technology is presented as an optimal solution through its high bandwidth, small form factors suitable for street furniture mounting, and lack of interference between short-range links. A case study describes replacing aging Nokia microwave radios with a new 60GHz system for interference-free small cell backhaul.
Business case for fixed wireless 4G/LTE using outdoor antennasAndre Fourie
LTE/4G networks business plans involve capex spend on radio access infrastructure to meet business objectives ito customer offerings ito bandwidth, data rates, bulk data and QoS. Assigning some Capex to CPE equipment with outdoor antennas can reduce Capex significantly for same capacity and considerably better reliability and QOS

White Paper-Evolution from 10Gbps to 100Gbps for a Metro Network-hsSusmita Adhikari Joshi
Overlaying flourishing 10 Gb/s services with additional co-propagating 10 Gb/s channels in different colors, or wavelengths, is already common practice. Network operators eager to increase capacity have begun overlaying 40 Gb/s channels onto available fiber without leasing more dark fibers as the best pragmatic approach. With the advent of 100G technology, the interest is now shifting from 40G to 100G installations.
LONG HAUL MULTI-GIGABIT MICROWAVE: A NEW APPROACHAviat Networks
As the data capacity demand on mobile phone and other wireless operator networks booms, their telecom backbones, or backhaul infrastructures, have struggled to keep pace. To get high volumes of data from coast to coast, operators have in more recent times relied on fiber optic technology for their voice and data traffic. However, for these long-haul operations, fiber lacks practicality, flexibility, cost effectiveness, security and quick time-to-market. Increasingly, operators are turning to the original long-haul telco solution to meet all these needs: microwave radio.
In this paper, we delve into the basics of existing monitoring technology and discuss an interesting in-service real-time monitoring solution that provides instantaneous root cause of
the fault without any influence on data traffic. Furthermore, applications of this novel technology are also illustrated.

Innovations for Better Performing NetworksAviat Networks
In the past decades one innovation has radically changed the way we approach our daily life - the smartphone. Adopted by the entire world this indispensable device combines three core characteristics: intelligence, compactness, and simplicity of use. Now, imagine if you applied these same characteristics to your network. The future is smarter ,smaller, simple.
The Next Generation Mobile Networks Alliance feels that 5G should be rolled out by 2020 to meet business and consumer demands. In addition to providing simply faster speeds, they predict that 5G networks also will need to meet new use cases such as the Internet of Things (internet connected devices) as well as broadcast-like services and lifeline communication in times of natural disaster. Although updated standards that define capabilities beyond those defined in the current 4G standards are under consideration, those new capabilities have been grouped under the current ITU-T 4G standards. The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved the spectrum for 5G, including the 28 Gigahertz, 37 GHz and 39 GHz bands, on July 14, 2016. 5G research and development also aims at improved support of machine to machine communication, also known as the Internet of things, aiming at lower cost, lower battery consumption and lower latency than 4G equipment. To put it simply, the use cases for 4G networks has expanded well beyond the initial scope of the standard. 5G is what you get when you reset the standard/design to cope with the increase in scope.4G networks don’t just support mobile devices anymore. IOT (Internet of Things) devices are everywhere and the number of them is only going to increase. We’re seeing 4G modems in smart watches, in CCTVs and even in doorbells.

Understanding User Needs and Satisfying ThemAggregage
https://www.productmanagementtoday.com/frs/26903918/understanding-user-needs-and-satisfying-them
We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
In this webinar, we won't focus on the research methods for discovering user-needs. We will focus on synthesis of the needs we discover, communication and alignment tools, and how we operationalize addressing those needs.
Industry expert Scott Sehlhorst will:
• Introduce a taxonomy for user goals with real world examples
• Present the Onion Diagram, a tool for contextualizing task-level goals
• Illustrate how customer journey maps capture activity-level and task-level goals
• Demonstrate the best approach to selection and prioritization of user-goals to address
• Highlight the crucial benchmarks, observable changes, in ensuring fulfillment of customer needs
