2. FAQs
Actually what's it?
String theory is a theory, that tries to adjust /
harmonize / reconcile General Relativity and
Quantum Mechanics.
What is General Relativity?
Macroscopically tries to prove the physics around us.
Ex: Newtonian principles – Gravity, Force,
Velocity etc.
What is Quantum Mechanics?
Microscopically tries to prove what is the “matter”
and what is it made of. From that, tries to
connect it with General Relativity.
Ex: Atomic level energy transfers – α,β,γ rays
4. What was before String theory?
Before string theory it was believed that electrons
and quarks within an atom were 0 dimensional
(non-dimensional/dimensionless) objects.
Now what?
Now, it's proved that they're made up of
1-dimensional strings. The strings can oscillate. Gives,
Flavour (field)
Charge
Mass
Spin
So, string theory is a quantum theory of gravity.
5. What String theory gives?
It gives/describes all the observed fundamental
forces and matter with a
Zero constant & some new fields.
Ex: F α a --------> F = m.a ------> m = constant
But, string theory doesn't involve any constant
like this, but involves
many fields like Higgs field.
If Higgs particles are interacted with Higgs field,
they will get mass.
So, It describes the origin of mass.
Why needed?
To understand our universe fully. We can get to know
what's happening in low energy levels.
String theory can break the mystery of
strong nuclear force i.e. Quantum chromodynamics.
6. Can you imagine?
All strings are oscillating in an almost unimaginable 10 dimension!
