Convertible Bond Funds invest in bonds that can be converted into preferred or common stock. The
benefit is that if an issuing company performs well after the issuance of the convertibles, the fund will
be able to gain by converting the bonds into the now more valuable stock.
Advantages to Issuing Companies
Lower interest rate on its debt The fund is, in effect, substituting the certain stream on interest
payments for the uncertainty of the growth prospects for the uncertainty of the growth prospects of
company that issues the bonds.
They represent potential common stock This future common stock feature may be desirable for a firm
that currently needs equity capital for an investment but does not want to issue common stock
immediately because of the potential dilution before the investment begins generating earnings.
Advantages to Investors
They provide the upside potential of common stock and the downside protection of a bond The upside
potential occurs because convertible bonds contain an option to buy stock by simply surrendering the
bond. If the stock price increases, the convertible bonds gain in value due to the increase in value of
the stock into which it can be converted. The downside protection occurs because, irrespective of what
happens to the stock, the price fo the bond will not decline below what it would be worth as a straight
bond.

The Effect Of Advertising On Society
The Harms Of Advertisements
Today, in such a globalized economy, advertisements play a vital role in helping to reach consumers
across the globe. Compared to the past, advertisements appear to be much more numerous now and
their aim is to lure people into buying products at all costs, even if it means misleading the average
consumer. Many turn a blind eye to these promotions as they see it as an essential tool in an
increasingly capitalistic free market to fuel economic growth. Unfortunately, the surge of unchecked
advertising has lead to some adverse effects on societies whether they be moral or ethical in nature.
The SAFRA gym advertisement, is an impeccable example of the adverse effects of advertising in
today s society. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The misconceptions of advertisements can clearly be seen in this case as it is implying that your life
will always be dull if you are not a member of our establishment even if a person is already a member
of a similar establishment. As a result, people might start to find things that are wrong with their lives
when their isn t and convince themselves that the only solution to the nonexistent problem that is to
become a member of this establishment. These misleading advertisements can also lead people to
develop body image issues especially women as they begin to think that the reason why they aren t
getting the same attention as the woman in the advertisement is because they don t look like her even
though they might look like perfectly healthy individuals themselves. In most societies, it is
considered quite important that women prioritize their physical appearance in order to attract men as it
is expected that men are to make the first move in a romantic setting. This is showcased in the SAFRA
gym advertisement where the lean fit woman manages to catch the eye of the two muscular men who
completely abandon their workout. This gym advertisement targets the younger female audiences by
giving the impression that if you want to be like that woman who can attract two strong men, you
must come to our gym. The advertisers use this

Strategic Transformation Of Alexander I And The Napoleonic...
Napoleon Bonaparte was a strategic mastermind who aimed for the domination of all of Europe.
Russia was the opposing force to this plan. The Napoleonic Wars began in 1803 and lasted to 1815.
The Napoleonic Wars affected Russia when they were under the reign of tsar Alexander I. Russia s
allies during the war were Great Britain, Prussia, Sweden, and Austria (Greenspan). In this time
Russia grew as a country and became an independent force to be reckoned with. Russia was greatly
changed through the Napoleonic Wars as a country, because of powerful leadership. The leadership
and decisions of Alexander I played a large role in the transformation of Russia. Alexander I came to
power after the assassination of Paul I, and his reign lasted from 1801 1825. Alexander s reign
followed a dark time in Russia of monarchs and tyrannies. Alexander was favored by his subject for
he wanted to create a new and happier beginning for all of Russia. The beginning of Alexander I s rule
was very crucial for Russia s success in the Napoleonic Wars. Alexander atoned for the faults of his
predecessor and once again created an alliance with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Global Climate Change
Global climate change is no big secret things are heating up and humans are starting to
see the implications of the global warming phenomena. As these consequences have begun to
impinge upon our realities of a healthy, functioning world, scientists have been hard pressed to
find a solution, a save all for mother Earth called geoengineering. One side of these solutions is
in carbon dioxide removal tactics that target the disease of too much carbon in the atmosphere
(Hamilton, 20). One of the most largely supported arguments for CO2 removal iron fertilization.
Global warming is also a hot topic of political debate because the problem is now so extensive
that effective action is needed on a global scale (20). It s time for humans assume responsibility
of our own self created mess, and also ponder the ramifications of our past, present, and future
Fertilizing the Ocean: adding iron, sequestering carbon
The ocean is a massive carbon repository. Scientists looking combat global
warming thought that carbon from the atmosphere could be moved into the oceans, where it
would stay for millennia. The man accredited for this idea is the late John Martin, who
discovered that in many regions of the ocean, iron has been found to be the limiting nutrient for
growth (NASA). Iron, a macronutrient, is needed for photosynthesis to occur and has been
linked to phytoplankton blooms (see image 2) and ice ages (Martinez Garcia). It reaches the
ocean in the form of dust

A Brief Note On The American Civil War

Civil War
The American Civil War, that took place from 1861 to 1865, marked one of the most important
changes in American history, it was fought between the Union and the Confederate States of America.
A total of even southern states that left the Union to form their own country in order to protect the
institution of slavery. The Civil War transformed the country s economy, politics, women, African
Americans, along with major breakthroughs in technology. The war increased northern prosperity,
whereas the South s entire society quickly collapsed. The war s impact on northern society was
positive, which led to an advancement in all aspects of northern life.

economy dominated over the country that help rebuild the United States as a country.
The Union developed their own country in order to abolish the institution of slavery. The union was
not going to allow the confederates to practice slavery. Many northern states favored the abolition of
slavery. The southerners favored the institution of slavery and favored the power of state governments
over the federal government. This caused a split in political parties and led to the formation of new
parties in the United States. The Constitutional Union Party rose and was formed by former Whigs.
The Constitutional Union Party s stance held in preserving the union by refusing to take sides on
slavery. When it became obvious that support for the party was weak, many in the Constitutional
Union Party attempted to join with Northern Democrats who supported appeasement. The United
States defeated the Confederate States and abolished slavery nationwide.( America s Reconstruction
People and Politics After the Civil War ).
During the Civil War, American women want to find a way to contribute to the war. Women in the
North and South joined as volunteers and signed up to work as nurses. It was the first time in
American history that women were allowed to

the wrinkles in my un ironed blue shirt. Ohhh, you should tell me about it later, when you look
presentable. She insulted. Damn her. I gave a tired nod before turning my attention to Mr. Harland
who was about to begin speaking. Good morning everyone, I hope you re ready for the day. Today we

could never actually bring myself to hate her. Who could, really. She meets my intellectual level, and

Czech s New Immigration
In the 1850 most immigrants were farmers or laborers, most immigrants to the United States derived
frequently from middle, or cottager, class. Many of them worked at the cigar making industry in New
York. Their conditions and wages were poor, it would take a Czech about ten years of labor to attain
the economic status of the average American laborer. Women were also employed in these factories.
The Czechs created the building and loan association, an institution which became of the their most
significant contribution to U.S. economic life. Czechs immigrants in the urban setting worked as small
businessmen and as skilled and unskilled laborers. During the late 1870 s new immigrants the
overwhelming majority were poorly educated, found

The Perspective On Demography And Its Effects On The...
Every aspect on demography comes into play when combined into unison from the perspective of a
person s environment. Factors such as age, ethnicity, gender and class are highly important in shaping
a person s environment, where a different combination is met with a distinct response, thus placing
great emphasis on the understanding of intersectionality through the lens of the sociological
imagination. Through social ecology, intersectionality and the sociological imagination intertwines
together to connect social issues and environmental problems as interrelated, where to solve one side,
the other side can not be ignored. To help protect our environment, we must begin to consider beyond
the industry cultures, but on the combination of all our carbon footprint s effect on the environment.
While equality is important, does all the countries have to reach the standard of Western societies,
instead for Western society to meet the developing countries somewhere in the middle. Perhaps
Eurocentrism is not so great after all when its existence is everywhere. The China Price provides an
excellent example of the consequences of the industrial culture prominent in many Western countries,
in which this culture takes advantage of the poor and marginalized groups for the economy to prosper,
as shown by the abundance of goods made from China. The environment in many cities are covered
with smog due to all the manufacturing and its byproducts going on in China, and through this means,

Hoplites Into Democracy Analysis
In his 1996 work titled Hoplites into Democrats: The Changing Ideology of Athenian Infantry, Victor
Hanson analyzes the timeline of the Athenian government as it transitions into a democracy and the
effect this transition had on their warfare culture. Throughout the article, Hanson refers to the seventh
and sixth century BC as the normative polis before democracy when the government was timocratical
and Athens was an early agrarian polis; and then continues his article to emphasize the fifth and fourth
centuries BC during the political reforms and the emergence of democracy as the main form of
government. Hanson mentions the tensions that arose between landowners and non landowners as the
government transitioned from timocratic to democratic, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With continuous war and battles being fought, the Athenian farmers gained profits because of greater
opportunity for theft (301). Hanson pulls from the fragmented works of an anonymous Oxyrhynchus
Historian to support his plundering claim. The historian writes that the Athenian countryside was the
most lavishly furnished in Greece (300). Hanson draws to the conclusion that Attic farmers in the fifth
century BC often took rural property from conquered subjects and then re employed it on their own
farms (301). With money being the new standard of privilege, as stated earlier, farmers utilized the
lavish material items they plundered to gain economic status within their culture. Another policy that
Attic farmers enjoyed under democracy was the introduction of pay for hoplite military service...
sometime around the mid fifth century BC (301). Hanson notes that Athenian farmers were
discovering the attractions democracy had to offer (301) since compensation was nonexistent during
agrarian warfare because it was a necessity to fight to save the farm. The burden of battle shifted
between the old regime, where the agrarian community faced battle alone, and the new regime, where
the burden was on the entire polis to fight for each other s land (301). As generations continued, a new
kind of self interested Athenian hoplite became prevalent due to their

Mustard Seed Supplier In Western Canad Article Summary
Economic Journal Summary of the article The third largest mustard seed supplier in Western Canada
has experienced a shortage of crops. India is another supplier of mustard seed and rapeseed and have
increased their prices to 20%, due to the heat wave that is expected at end of October. Due to this price
increase and the low supply of seeds, companies like Kraft Heinz Co and Reckitt Benckiser, have been
forced to raise the prices of their good, smaller companies with low consumers have been most
affected by this situation. Many exporters are panic buying due to scarcity. Many businesses owners
say it s not about the price, rather supply. Canadian farmers are to blame for this as farmers sowed
only 325,000 acres of mustard, which is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They strive best in cool climates with some moisture. They need well drained, loamy and fertile soil to
grow sufficiently. These conditions make Canadian grounds a very difficult place to grow mustard.
Since we have a climate that fluctuates between seasons, the only months that we are able to host the
breeding of mustard is in the fall seasons. This time period is not enough for mustard to grow to its
maximum potential and is far from efficient. After conducting some research, I do not believe that
Canadian farmers should continue to grow mustard because it is putting a strain on the Canadian
economy. This is because farmers who are planting mustard are not receiving high rates of crop
returns due to the unfavourable climate conditions, as a result they are not able to supply the
anticipated amounts of mustard and can not earn their maximum profit. Canadian governments are
gaining a bad reputation from the mustard shortage because the demanded amount of mustard is not
being satisfied with the scarce supply of mustard. Consumers are also also upset because prices of
mustard are higher than what it was before this mustard crisis, therefore many want the product, but
are not able to afford it. Businesses are also angry because they now have to pay more for the price of
mustard and have to compete against other businesses for the supply of mustard and are losing
consumers because they are being pushed to raise the prices of their goods. Therefore, they are not
able to meet their maximum potential because mustard is at disequilibrium, since demand exceeds

George Washington And Jefferson s Influence On The...
There are very few people who wouldn t think about George Washington,John Adams and Thomas
Jefferson when someone mentions the Founding Fathers. Without a doubt we can say that they were
three very important men who greatly affected the independence of our country. Out of three,
Washington and Jefferson are more talked about. They helped form this nation into a sovereign and
free country. Both were great men who did so much to shape and protect this country and it is
impossible to say that one did a better job than the other. Washington and Jefferson did what was best
for this county even though they had different views on many issues. Both grew up in Virginia, but
they were from two different class levels of living. Jefferson grew up in more famous and richer
family which gave him many opportunities in education. He went to college where he was introduced
to the writings of Isaac Newton,John Locke, and Francis Bacon which later influenced his political
views. After Jefferson graduated from college he worked as a lawyer and later got into politics. Prior
to his presidency he had many government positions such as Member of Virginia House of
Burgesses,Member of Continental Congress, Governor of Virginia,Secretary of State, just to list a few.
He was well educated in many different fields. Because Jefferson had very good writing skills he was
asked to write the main draft of Declaration of Independence, but when he was done it was edited so
much. Another writing,which Jefferson

Why Do Neanderthals Exist
Anthropologists of primeval and present times have been tasked to research on the Neanderthal and
find out the exact time that they lived. They argued that the first humans that had proto Neanderthal
traits existed as early as 350,000 600,000 years ago (Jordan 114). Later they discovered that true
Neanderthals appeared between 200,000 and 250,000 years ago. Nevertheless, the exact date during
which they existed has been disputed by many scientists. According to (Pääbo 76), the first recognized
human fossils were discovered in 1856 a pre historic site a long Neander Valley in Germany (hence
the name Neanderthal man); this creature is suspected to have a close resemblance to the modern man,
differing in their genetic composition by just 0.12%. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to (Lunine 204), modern humans share one gene (FOXP2) with the Neanderthals.
However, the main difference between Neanderthals and modern humans is that they had a more
robust and idiosyncratic morphological traits, especially on the cranium. (Lunine, 234). Neanderthals
had relatively shorter limbs, wider barrel shaped rib cage, with reduced chin and relatively longer and
enlarged nose. Unlike the modern man who had reduced ribcage and sizeable nose. They were more
masculine than the modern man with particularly strong arms and hands. If a physical altercation
between a Neandertal and a modern man occurred, the Neandertal would have the ability to
completely physically dominate him. Additionally, recent research shows that Neanderthals could
have had better eyesight than modern humans owing to the size of their skull and larger eye sockets.
They had a brain capacity of about 1600cm3 which is bigger than the modern humans. Neanderthals
skeletons were much stronger with robust muscles embodied on it, and the shafts found on both the

I believe that one of the main reasons why this restaurant is so successful is the fact that people who
eat here enjoy the unique environment and want to come back. The design at all Cheesecake Factories
is very elegant and the architecture at each restaurant is more developed and fancy. People often come
back for more because, even though they know the prices are slightly higher than at other restaurants,
the meal sizes are bigger and of a better quality. The Cheesecake Factory takes pride in being known
for giving their customers large portions of food which is why many of them take the leftovers back
home with them all the time.
One of the strength is the common knowledge of cheesecakes. When people think of
Cheesecake Factory the number one thing that comes to their minds is the cheesecake. There are so
many different kinds of cheesecakes and with this amount of varieties to choose from, it definitely is
one of the most significant strengths that the Cheesecake Factory has. I believe that
The Cheesecake Factory should take an advantage of this strength and start selling all the kinds of
cheesecake they make to stores around the country. This will be a way to over come the weakness of
advertising. If they sell in stores, and even other places they will also be advertising at the same time.

Why Gender Inequality Stalled By Stephanie Coontz
Stephanie Coontz, author of Why Gender Inequality Stalled, emphasizes on how women are still

instead of staying at home to care for her family. Women making the choice to have a baby and have a
career is often frowned upon. According to Coontz, when they become mothers, they face more
scrutiny and prejudice on the job than fathers do (7). In a two family household, mothers often have to
take off work to care for their children in case of emergencies than fathers do. In single household
families, mothers are full time parents and have a full time job. This makes it harder for the women to

The Standard Oil Company Essay
The Standard Oil Trust of Ohio was and American oil producing, refining, and transporting company.
It was founded in 1863 by John D. Rockefeller and lasted until 1911. During 1868, Rockefeller
expanded the oil company to become the largest oil refining company in the world. In 1870, the
company was renamed Standard Oil Company. After it was renamed, Rockefeller purchased most of
the oil companies that were currently in business to make one large company.
Rockefeller s actions created a monopoly. A monopoly is when someone owns most or all of the

Her work for this magazine caught the attention of Samuel Sidney McClure, the founder of McClure s

Despite this negative label, Tarbell campaigned with the other journalists.

Stereotypes In The Babysitter
For this week s blog I ve decided to discuss the two dichotomizing views of women portrayed in the
first thirty minutes of the horror comedy movie The Babysitter. This horror comedy Netflix original
movie tells the story of Cole, a young teenager who is one of the last of his age to still have a
babysitter. The film presents two schemas of women in American society: the first as the sexy, young,
promiscuous babysitter and the other as the suburban superwoman. The superwoman stereotype is
defined by Harris and Sanborn as the portrayal of women who appear to handle the demands of career,
marriage, and parenting with amazingly little stress and difficulty (Harris Sanborn, 2014, p. 81).
The movie s discussion of the babysitter as being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

attractiveness the babysitter embodies and find themselves lacking.
For the superwoman portrayal, women in similar positions may see how easy the mom in this film
makes fulfilling these obligations look and again may find themselves lacking in comparison. Both
young girls and older women could see this portrayal of the superwoman as the societal average of
what a woman should be able to achieve. This could lead young girls to place an expectation on
themselves in future. Overall, I found little in these two depictions of women to be supportive of a
positive portrayal of women in the

How Is Hester Prynne A Heroine
The Scarlet Letter is a classic novel written by Nathaniel Hawthorne. It is set in puritan times around
the 16th century. The story tells of a women of the name Hester Prynne who commits adultery with a
man who is kept a mystery until the end of the book, and bears a daughter named Pearl. It follows the
lives of the people in Boston, Massachusetts from the point of the beginning of Pearl s life, to the
death of Hester. Though the books tells of the many scenes of Hester s life, I believe that through it all,
Hester Prynne is a heroine and has many traits of being so in this book. I believe that she is a heroine
because she was brave, she was faithful to who she really loved, and she was calm through it all.
Hester Prynne was a heroine because

Procedure Of The Bernoulli s Theorem Apparatus
Procedure Experimental set up The Bernoulli s theorem apparatus is set up on the hydraulic bench so
that its base is horizontal for accurate height measurements from the manometer. The rig outflow tube
is positioned above the volumetric tank. The rig inlet is then connected to the bench flow supply
followed by closing the bench and the apparatus flow control valve. The pump is then started. The
bench valve is gradually opened to fill the test rig with water. The bench valve and rig flow control
valve are closed in order to bleed air from pressure tapping points and manometers. Then, the air bleed
screw is opened and the cap from the adjacent air valve are removed. A length of small bore tubing
from the air valve to volumetric tank is connected. The bench valve is then opened and allowed to
flow through the manometers to eliminate all air from them. After that, the air bleed screw is tightened
and bench valve and test rig flow control valve are partly opened. The air bleed screw is opened to
allow air to enter the top of the manometers. Lastly, the screw is re tightened when the manometer
levels reach a convenient height. Experimental procedure to obtain results Pump is turned on and bpth
the control valve on hydraulic bench and the venturi tube are adjusted so the tube is filled up with
water. Using the valve on the manifold at the top of the manometer, the air bubbles are bleed off. To
obtain flow rate so that the total head at the inlet

Introduction Country Background
Geographically, Italy is comprised of a peninsula that extends into the Mediterranean Sea, as well as
two large islands. The shape of Italy has been depicted as a boot in many cartoons and drawings for
years. The country covers over 116,000 square miles, making it approximately the combined size of
Florida and Georgia. (Killinger, 2002) Italy is a democratic republic that has a current population of
around 60 million people, making it the twenty third most populous country in the world. Italy ...

Italy is also the fourth largest tourism earning nation in the world and the fifth most visited country. (
Economy of Italy, 2010)
Italy is currently said to be in a recession, with industrial output dropping 6.6 percent in the last year.
The shutdown of factories has been announced by Fiat in the wake of falling car sales. Italy is referred
to as the sick man of Europe due to political instability, lack of infrastructure development and
economic stagnation. The average annual rate of growth in Italy is 1.23 percent compared to the 2.28
percent average growth rate in the EU over the last ten years. In January of this year unemployment
hit 8.6 percent yet it is predicated that Italy will pull out of its recession by the end of 2010. (

Culture
Values and Norms
Since World War II, Italian society has profoundly changed, with a significant impact on daily life.
One of the main elements of change is the more visible role women play in society outside the home,
such as increased participation in higher education and various professions. One aspect of this
changed role is that Italy records one of the lowest average numbers of children per woman in the
world, as well as some of the lowest birth and fertility rates. (Brittanica Online Encyclopedia)
For Italian families, popular daily leisure activities include watching television, listening to the radio,

Kaleidoscope Eyes Analysis
Internal Comments:
No. While the idea that we choose to see the world either optimistically and pessimistically is
beautifully expressed throughout the poem, it comes across as trite in parts. The main idea of the poem
is not completely developed instead, the author spends too much time on unnecessary side characters.
In addition, there are several errors in terms of grammar as well as imprecise word choice.
To the First Reader:
Dear Denee Freeman, thank you for your commentary on submission 10405 ( Kaleidoscope Eyes ).
All of your comments are formatted correctly, and I particularly appreciate your depth on your
specific comments. In terms of things to work on, I would recommend being more gentle in your
wording. A question posed with language ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author does this by presenting a variety of snapshots of people with this grey world view,
lingering on the last snapshot of the family, to expand on the kaleidoscope view of the children. You re
obviously aware of how language impacts mood, and do a nice job choosing their words.
I wished this poem had more showing, instead of telling, such as with the failed marriage and the will
to continue living. I think more specificity in your images, would eliminate both some of the moments
where the poem borders on cliche as well as the moments that distance the reader from the snapshots.
Personal details with make the poem stronger, and feel like the reader is in your snapshot scenes.
The second note for revision I have for this poem is to think about the form. Right now the form isn t
particularly helping you, and in some places with the uneven spacing and unnecessary stanza breaks, it
actively hurts your poem. I would consider fewer stanzas personally. I wonder even about having a
very regimented line, stanza, or even a syllabic pattern, except for those lines speaking about
kaleidoscope eyes. Thank you so much for submitting to Polyphony H.S.; continue

John Paul II Hero
Joseph Campbell, American mythologist and religious writer, once said, A hero is someone who has
given his or her life to something bigger than oneself. A human being who is brave and represents
leadership, is a hero. One who is committed fully and selfless. One who is patient and courageous.
One who is fair minded, altruistic, and tenacious. They are all heroes of this world. Saint John Paul II
was born in Wadowice, Poland in the 1920 s with the name Karol Wojtyla. He faced various hardships
during his early life. His mother passed away when he was only eight years old from kidney failure

The War On The Home Front
In a very short amount of time, America went a serious of events which had great influence on the
home front. Those two events were WWII and the Cold War. Civil rights, the cultural norms, and
society at large, had changed greatly during a short amount of time due to these events. The United
States was fight a war on two fronts, both at home and overseas. The wars overseas had great
influence and impact on the successes that would come over time on the home front. Without these
wars and times of trials and tribulations, the civil rights movement and society as a whole, would most
likely have not had made as large of a shift as it did. During WWII, two groups that had it very rough
on the home front, was African Americans and women. Both of these groups faced many challenges,
but both seen the war as a gateway into regular, white male society. With the advent of WWII, African
Americans saw a further opportunity to press their cause. Hundreds of thousands went to war, with the
expectation that their service would earn them equal rights, once and for all. (Many Rivers to Cross)
When reflecting on the past though, African Americans have fought in every American war since the
revolution, and yet they were still bound by unjust laws. (October 8th Lecture) Both groups had
already overcame many diversities in the pasts, but were faced with an opportunity to possible
triumph over the ones they had left. African Americans before the war, also had little chance of

The Retail Industry Is Highly Competitive, With Few Barriers
The retail industry is highly competitive, with few barriers to entry. Each Company competes with
many other local, regional and national retailers for customers, associates, locations, merchandise,
services and other important aspects of the Company s business. Those competitors include other
department stores, discounters, home furnishing stores, specialty retailers, wholesale clubs, direct to
consumer businesses and other forms of retail commerce. Some competitors are larger than JCPenney,
have greater financial resources available to them, and, as a result, may be able to devote greater
resources to sourcing, promoting and selling their products. There are many factors that characterize
competition, including advertising, service, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There will be several more in 2018. The merchandise is attractive and offered at very cheap prices.
The concept is extremely appealing to young people on a tight budget. Primark will present a
competitive challenge for every promotional retailer selling apparel, fashion jewelry, and various
seasonal and home novelties. Aldi s will be expanding with 400 stores in the United States to keep up
on pressure price. It is a privately held German retailer, known for cheap prices on private brand food
products, being sold in rudimentary stores, has recently included inexpensive fashion to its
availability. This will be a competitive factor for low priced retailers. Nordstrom s Rack, which has
167 stories at the end of this year, will add an additional 25 stores in 2017. This is certainly a sign that
fashion customers are continuing to endorse that company s low priced effort. They scoop up fashion
merchandise, especially shoes, at very discounted prices. Neiman Marcus is now expanding their Last
Call stores to compete more aggressively with The Rack. Macy s is constantly drumming up consumer
interest with another sale I think they ran about 80 sales last year. They are well aware that the
millennial customer looks for value in department stores. There were similar short duration sale events
and other promotional efforts by J.C.Penney and

The Problem Of Offender Profiling
Offender profiling can be described as the process often used in extremely serious offences such as
serial murder or sexual assault. The process aims to identify unique characteristics about the offender
through examining the characteristics of the offence and gathering information about the victim
(Farrington, 2007) as well as using information gained from previous similar offences before
gradually building up an offender profile.
In order for offender profiling to be considered useful, it must gather detailed information about the
offender, victim and crime scene which can then be used effectively by police detectives to eliminate
any suspects who do not match with the profiler s offender specification and aid authorities in ... Show

The information gained from the interviews was paired with information from the FBI s Behavioural
Science Unit as well as examinations of forensic evidence, nature of attacks and the crime scene itself.
The crime is then put into a classification system of being either organised or disorganised by building
a set of characteristics likely to be identified in each category in order to distinguish the type of
criminal that may have committed the offence.
For a criminal to be considered organised this would mean that evidence had been found that
suggested the offender had carefully planned out the offence before it had taken place, left very few
clues and had carried out the crime with a stranger as the victim. It is also inferred that an organised
criminal would have an above average IQ, be sexually and socially competent and in a highly skilled
occupation. Whereas a disorganised offender would display the opposite characteristics and would
typically be found to leave clues, have a below average IQ, be sexually and socially incompetent etc.
Once the profile of the criminal has been established, investigative suggestions are then made based
on the profile (Douglas et al, 1992).
In the Bottom Up Approach , evidence is gathered to find information that will reflect

The Effects Of STZ On Β-Cells Of Pancreas
The stimulation of experiment in animals using chemicals mainly destroys β cell of pancreas, is very
convenient and easy to use. Strptozotocin and alloxan monohydrate are most common substances to
induction diabetes in animals. The effects of STZ on β cells of pancreas consists of so many processes
such as oxidation of essential SH groups, glucokinase inhibitors, free radical generation and alteration
in intracellular calcium homeostasis (Szkudelski, 2001). It is observed that STZ causes massive
reduction of the pancreatic β cells and finally produced hyperglycemia. Several studies described that
a significant increase in lipid peroxidation were noted in diabetic rats (Limaye et al., 2003). The
present findings are in accordance also with previous report indicated significant increase in TBARS
in STZ diabetic rats (Murugan and Pari, 2006). The lipid peroxidation may attribute to the
hypoinsulinemia caused by STZ progressive deterioration of normal pancreatic β cell function. This
hypoinsulinemia induced an increase in the activity of fatty acyl Co A oxidase that initiate the β
oxidation of fatty acids resulting in lipid peroxidation (Baynes and ... Show more content on

The benefit is that if an issuing company performs well after the issuance of the convertibles, the fund will be able to gain by converting the bonds into the now more valuable stock. As these consequences have begun to impinge upon our realities of a healthy, functioning world, scientists have been hard pressed to find a solution, a save all for mother Earth called geoengineering. With continuous war and battles being fought, the Athenian farmers gained profits because of greater opportunity for theft (301). Hanson pulls from the fragmented works of an anonymous Oxyrhynchus Historian to support his plundering claim. The historian writes that the Athenian countryside was the most lavishly furnished in Greece (300). Hanson draws to the conclusion that Attic farmers in the fifth century BC often took rural property from conquered subjects and then re employed it on their own farms (301). With money being the new standard of privilege, as stated earlier, farmers utilized the lavish material items they plundered to gain economic status within their culture. Another policy that Attic farmers enjoyed under democracy was the introduction of pay for hoplite military service... sometime around the mid fifth century BC (301). Hanson notes that Athenian farmers were discovering the attractions democracy had to offer (301) since compensation was nonexistent during agrarian warfare because it was a necessity to fight to save the farm. The burden of battle shifted between the old regime, where the agrarian community faced battle alone, and the new regime, where the burden was on the entire polis to fight for each other s land (301). They need well drained, loamy and fertile soil to grow sufficiently. These conditions make Canadian grounds a very difficult place to grow mustard. Since we have a climate that fluctuates between seasons, the only months that we are able to host the breeding of mustard is in the fall seasons. This time period is not enough for mustard to grow to its maximum potential and is far from efficient. After conducting some research, I do not believe that Canadian farmers should continue to grow mustard because it is putting a strain on the Canadian economy. This is because farmers who are planting mustard are not receiving high rates of crop returns due to the unfavourable climate conditions, as a result they are not able to supply the anticipated amounts of mustard and can not earn their maximum profit. Canadian governments are gaining a bad reputation from the mustard shortage because the demanded amount of mustard is not being satisfied with the scarce supply of mustard. Consumers are also also upset because prices of mustard are higher than what it was before this mustard crisis, therefore many want the product, but are not able to afford it. Businesses are also angry because they now have to pay more for the price of mustard and have to compete against other businesses for the supply of mustard and are losing consumers because they are being pushed to raise the prices of their goods. The rig outflow tube is positioned above the volumetric tank. The rig inlet is then connected to the bench flow supply followed by closing the bench and the apparatus flow control valve. The pump is then started. The bench valve is gradually opened to fill the test rig with water. The bench valve and rig flow control valve are closed in order to bleed air from pressure tapping points and manometers. Then, the air bleed screw is opened and the cap from the adjacent air valve are removed. A length of small bore tubing from the air valve to volumetric tank is connected. The bench valve is then opened and allowed to flow through the manometers to eliminate all air from them. After that, the air bleed screw is tightened and bench valve and test rig flow control valve are partly opened. The air bleed screw is opened to allow air to enter the top of the manometers. Lastly, the screw is re tightened when the manometer levels reach a convenient height. Experimental procedure to obtain results Pump is turned on and bpth the control valve on hydraulic bench and the venturi tube are adjusted so the tube is filled up with water. Kaleidoscope Eyes Analysis Internal Comments: No. While the idea that we choose to see the world either optimistically and pessimistically is beautifully expressed throughout the poem, it comes across as trite in parts. The main idea of the poem is not completely developed instead, the author spends too much time on unnecessary side characters. In addition, there are several errors in terms of grammar as well as imprecise word choice. To the First Reader: Dear Denee Freeman, thank you for your commentary on submission 10405 ( Kaleidoscope Eyes ). All of your comments are formatted correctly, and I particularly appreciate your depth on your specific comments. In terms of things to work on, I would recommend being more gentle in your wording. The author does this by presenting a variety of snapshots of people with this grey world view, lingering on the last snapshot of the family, to expand on the kaleidoscope view of the children. You re obviously aware of how language impacts mood, and do a nice job choosing their words. I wished this poem had more showing, instead of telling, such as with the failed marriage and the will to continue living. I think more specificity in your images, would eliminate both some of the moments where the poem borders on cliche as well as the moments that distance the reader from the snapshots. Personal details with make the poem stronger, and feel like the reader is in your snapshot scenes. The second note for revision I have for this poem is to think about the form. Right now the form isn t particularly helping you, and in some places with the uneven spacing and unnecessary stanza breaks, it actively hurts your poem. I would consider fewer stanzas personally. I wonder even about having a very regimented line, stanza, or even a syllabic pattern, except for those lines speaking about kaleidoscope eyes. The process aims to identify unique characteristics about the offender through examining the characteristics of the offence and gathering information about the victim (Farrington, 2007) as well as using information gained from previous similar offences before gradually building up an offender profile. In order for offender profiling to be considered useful, it must gather detailed information about the offender, victim and crime scene which can then be used effectively by police detectives to eliminate any suspects who do not match with the profiler s offender specification and aid authorities in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The information gained from the interviews was paired with information from the FBI s Behavioural Science Unit as well as examinations of forensic evidence, nature of attacks and the crime scene itself. The crime is then put into a classification system of being either organised or disorganised by building a set of characteristics likely to be identified in each category in order to distinguish the type of criminal that may have committed the offence. For a criminal to be considered organised this would mean that evidence had been found that suggested the offender had carefully planned out the offence before it had taken place, left very few clues and had carried out the crime with a stranger as the victim. It is also inferred that an organised criminal would have an above average IQ, be sexually and socially competent and in a highly skilled occupation. Whereas a disorganised offender would display the opposite characteristics and would typically be found to leave clues, have a below average IQ, be sexually and socially incompetent etc. Once the profile of the criminal has been established, investigative suggestions are then made based on the profile (Douglas et al, 1992). Strptozotocin and alloxan monohydrate are most common substances to induction diabetes in animals. The effects of STZ on β cells of pancreas consists of so many processes such as oxidation of essential SH groups, glucokinase inhibitors, free radical generation and alteration in intracellular calcium homeostasis (Szkudelski, 2001). It is observed that STZ causes massive reduction of the pancreatic β cells and finally produced hyperglycemia. Several studies described that a significant increase in lipid peroxidation were noted in diabetic rats (Limaye et al., 2003). The present findings are in accordance also with previous report indicated significant increase in TBARS in STZ diabetic rats (Murugan and Pari, 2006).
