This document discusses storage in Kubernetes. It covers stateless vs stateful containers, volumes, dynamic provisioning, PVCs, PVs and storage classes. It introduces flex volume drivers which allow mounting vendor volumes by installing the vendor's driver on nodes. The Container Storage Interface is presented as an industry standard storage interface that is out-of-tree, containerized and deployed via standard Kubernetes primitives to provide storage for Kubernetes as well as other platforms like Mesos and Cloud Foundry. It follows a standard workflow with PVCs, PVs and storage classes.
