There has been an excellent presentation "the convenient truth of smoke' from 'empoweredpresentations' . We have 1.1 billion smokers and they smoke 1.7 trillions of cigarettes a year. There will be 1.6 billion smokers in 2016. I translated the slides and post at Samsung Economic Reserach Institute (SERI) which is an ackowldeged knowledge hub in Korea. 자라면서 아이들은 크지만 정작 조금이라도 아프면 부모 속이 타들어 간다. 정작 어른이 되어 자기 안에 상처받은 내면아이가 사는지도 모른다면? 알고도 내버려둔다면? 반드시 자신의 어린 시절로 돌아가 거기서부터 다시 시작하지 않으면 안 된다. 이쪽과 저쪽 서로가 의지하여 존재하는 상호의존증은 일종의 정체성 상실의 질환이다. 건강한 내면세계를 갖지 못한 채, 외부에서 뭔가 성취하려는 시도나 노력은 아무런 소용이 없다. 어린 시절 겪었던 사건이 계속 남아 오히려 더 악화될 수 있다. 부모의 지나치고 병적인 시각이 내면화되어 여전히 부모의 잣대로 자신을 보고 자신에게 지시, 확인하고, 꾸짖는 등 내면아이는 재연하게 된다. 왜? 상처를 받으며 상처를 받으면 어떻게 되나? 중독되고 습관성으로 치닫는다. 모든 문제는 혼자만의 것이 아니며 가족 전체가 원인이다. 개인 증상은 곧 가족 전체의 문제다. 이 분야 전문가들로부터 치료나 치유의 원칙과 실천 행동을 알아본다

DRIVE 자발적 동기부여의 힘

행복은 무엇인지 알 수 없다. 인터넷에는 가짜가 넘친다. 퍼다 나르다 보면 좋은 글도 엉뚱한 사람 이름으로 달린다. 예의도 아니고 가급적 사실이 중요하다. 부처님이 하지도 않은 말에 턱 하니 붓다라고 달아 놓았다. 여러 명사가 저서에 옮겨 놓았다. 틱낫한 스님의 명문장은 무스떼의 글을 일부 인용했다고 스스로 밝히셨다. 살다 보면 번뇌와 고통이 늘 함께한다. 자기 계발의 구루 Wayne Dyer는 저서에서 자기 변화를 위한 9가지 질문을 제시했다. 행복을 꿈꾸는 인간들의 간단한 바람 목록을 실제 행동으로 옮기는 용기를 가진 이들은 극히 적다. 칼 붓세의 시 구절로 작곡하신 한태근 노은사의 노래처럼 “산 너머 저 멀리 하늘가에는 행복이 있다고 말들 하기에 남 따라 나도야 찾아갔건만 눈물만 흘리고 되돌아왔네.” 그래서 번뇌한다. 열반에 이르는 팔정도를 영국 Bodhipaksa가 권하며 행복은 도상에 중요하다. 행복은 중간이라고 알려준다. 행복에 대해 위인들을 뭐라고 하나? 10월의 파란 가을 하늘 아래 한 번 명상을 해보자.

Involves a cascade effect through G-proteins and second messengers, leading to depolarization and action potential generation in the olfactory nerve.
Quality of a Good Odorant:
Small (3-20 Carbon atoms), volatile, water-soluble, and lipid-soluble.
Facilitated by odorant-binding proteins in mucus.
Membrane Potential and Action Potential:
Resting membrane potential: -55mV.
Action potential frequency in the olfactory nerve increases with odorant strength.
Adaptation Towards the Sense of Smell:
Rapid adaptation within the first second, with further slow adaptation.
Psychological adaptation greater than receptor adaptation, involving feedback inhibition from the central nervous system.
Primary Sensations of Smell:
Camphoraceous, Musky, Floral, Pepperminty, Ethereal, Pungent, Putrid.
Odor Detection Threshold:
Examples: Hydrogen sulfide (0.0005 ppm), Methyl-mercaptan (0.002 ppm).
