themes loss, madness, and fear were used. They both seem to start with some type of
loss and end with a type of madness. In both stories Montresor and Penny from The
Thing in The Forest have lost something affecting their lives greatly. These losses put
these characters in some type of state of madness. Their loss make these stories, they
are the most important because without them, there wouldn t be a story.
Montresor is known for his name, he was once really wealthy and with not a whole
lot left Montresor really has nothing. When Fortunato insults Montresor, though

I Am Attending Duke Street Daycare
I am attending Duke Street Daycare, which is apart of the Collingwood
Neighborhood House for the next six weeks. This is a 3 to 5 center that has 32
children, and are open from 7:30am to 6:00pm; Monday through Friday. The
children are divided into two groups; the butterflies that 4 5 years of age and
caterpillars that are early 3 4 s. Duke Street Daycare has a ratio of 1:8, with a total
of six staff members. I have attached the center s guidance policy and daily

A teacher must have their back facing the wall, which allows a clear view, prevent
injuries or conflicts and learn about staff and then children more.
On the first day of practicum the children were all engaged in free playtime and I
would position myself in a play area with my back facing a wall so I was open to
the children. I would periodically look around the room, while still being attentive
to what I was doing. I would move throughout the room spending time with each
child, or group of children, equally sharing the time and attention I was giving to

Chester has recently displayed some behaviors of great concernt to his mother. She
states that he has begun hitting himself when he is denied access to desired items
and has shown an increae in attention seeking behaviors. When giving him a bath last

Prior to any services being put into place, there will need to a functional behavioral
assessment needs to be completed. A functional behavioral assessment (FBA), as
stated by Cooper, Heron and Heward (2007), is used to acquire information about
what the function of a certain behavior serves for a person. Through the use of a direct
functional assessment mehtods and an indirect functional assessment methods,
information can be gathered on Chester s behaviors and what the function of those
behvaiors are.
Indirect functional assessment methods are used to gather information from others
who are acquainted with that person, such as parents and teachers, through the use of
questionairres, checklists, personal interviews and rating scales (Copper, et al, 2007).
This type of assessment is done to determine when, where the problem behaviors are
occuring and, who they are occuring with.

agreed most with Jude Davies reading, The Future of No Future : Punk Rock and

Not many people are aware of how residential schools have affected First Nations
people in Canada. These Christian boarding schools, which were government
sponsored and aimed at assimilating Indigenous children, have deeply impacted the
