ABSTRACT In this project we are trying to minimize the gap to capacity of a
channel given by Shannon s theoretical limit of a rate 1/3 code. This is done
through a convolutional encoding/decoding by varying memory elements for
both soft and hard decision decoding. The basic concepts associated with the
convolution code with its encoding and decoding schemes are used in this project.
Using Shannon s optimal code we compare the gap to capacity of the algorithm
that is implemented. Finally we show that the gap to capacity can be minimized
with respect to the sub optimal un coded code word or a 1/3 repetition code.

leader having authority to evaluate performance and administer rewards or

skills to adapt their behavior to the maturity of their followers. It is comprised of
three components: the amount of task related behaviors a leader displays, the
amount of relationship related behaviors a leader displays, and the level of maturity
of the followers to perform a specific task. The first and second components are

the first generation of stars that give way to the universe. These stars, most likely
from the late developing cluster of the first generation of stars, are strong evidence
of primordial stars. Primordial stars are stars that are considered the original stars of

David Sobral and his team at the University of Lisbon led the work in finding this

University of Lisbon used the Subaru Telescope in Hawaii to first detect the light
spectrum from CR7, and used three additional telescopes to determine which of the
distant bright galaxies the light originated.
The Subaru Telescope is located in Mauna Kea, Hawaii, and is an 8.2 metre optical
infrared telescope, operated by the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (

light using a mirror, and focuses the photons to create high resolution image. The

over looked. As we know in 1862, President Abraham Lincoln signed the
Emancipation Proclamation abolishing slavery, yet more than one million people are
enslaved in the U.S. today. Human trafficking involves different ages, gender, ethnic
backgrounds, and they are being trafficked throughout the world. At the end I hope to

Political science is a broad topic that covers the history, political and geographical
aspect of the world. The course started with a revision on the basics of the
constitution, types of power and the political scene that happens around us. My first
