became common well after Mozart s time, hence Mozart s use of the overture to set

over the years; however what separates the extraordinary books from the appalling
books, is the author s ability to visually and emotionally move their readers. In
order to establish a connection to the audience, an author must understand human
experience. In Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen, two narratives are used, one of
an older Jacob, and one of a younger Jacob. This choice is made by the author to
help the reader fully comprehend the circle of life. Everyone succumbs to age
sooner or later, and while many books conclude with the narrator finding
contentment at an early age, this is not the case in reality. In the real world, most
struggle to achieve fulfillment, by creating an elderly Jacob, in this case it does not
necessarily mean that a live has been fulfilled. The old aged are sometimes just as
clueless as the young. Sara Gruen discloses that the old are not very different from

Growing up as a middle class child with both parents working, I learned to
appreciate the little details. In order to grow my parents had to deal with a lot of
un ethical people and the wrongs they did to them. Although they had many

idea of taking advantage of them. Instead, my parents chose the longer but
righteous road. Through their life choices and their struggles, I learned to be fair

feelings. I believe that through art, communication is more passionate and thoughtful.
In paintings, artist have their own techniques in which they use to convey the
messages in their work. The piece In the Studio c by William Merritt Chase1889
1916, he connects with his viewers through expression of lines, space and depth, light
and color, texture and design. This painting was also donated by Mary Reynolds
Babcock Foundation, ARCA Forsyth 1967 2.4.
Viewing the painting, I found that William uses a variety of lines. I found a good
amount of thick and thin contoured line in the body and the clothing of the woman
sitting in the chair. Contoured lines help to add volume and to mold into something.
The pure contour lines in the woman chest helps her character appear more
feminine, as well as the curvy and thin lines in her dress and shoes. The curved
outline in her body gives a visual gesture and communicates body language. We all

Why I Am A Motor Skill
When observing Presley, with her body size you noticed she is larger than the
other children around her. I was informed by one of the caregivers she is the oldest
out of the children there. Not knowing actual height and weight, comparing her to
the other children, she was taller and looked fuller. Presley is two years old and if
fully walking. Under the gross motor skill, the third element in the dynamic
system; practice unbalanced, wide legged, short strides become steady, smooth
gait, Presley was surpassed that stage. She walked with her arms down, not out,
and legs were close together. The other children around her seemed to be in the
practice phase. One fine motor skill I noticed was a mouth skill, pronunciation.
Her words were clear, making it easier to understand what she asked for or talking
in general. She said zapatoes , which is a spanish word for shoes and was said
clearly and understood. Presley grasping was more focused on toys, while I was
there she did not get into any altercations(pulling hair/biting) with the other
