Other models of STPD include the cascade model where champion teachers train colleagues, and site-based training where teachers work with local facilitators. Self-directed STPD allows teachers to determine their own goals and select activities.

face, broadcast, or online means. Training-based models are frequently employed
to develop ICT skills such as those covered by the International Computer Drivers
License (ICDL), and sometimes to introduce the integration of computers into the

otherwise available
• Self-directed activities are part of an overall professional development program that includes
standardized or site-based TPD
