This document contains lesson plans for two days of a term focusing on analyzing mood in personal writing and practicing different tenses. For the first day, students will analyze language used to express mood in letters and practice writing themselves. They will review vocabulary, discuss what personal writing is, and do activities working in pairs and groups analyzing commentary and writing paragraphs expressing point of view. The second day reviews tenses, identifies them in contexts, and has students use a range of tenses to create mood in a diary entry. Activities include watching diary video clips, reviewing homework, tense identification exercises, and writing a diary entry.
