Implementation of pi, fuzzy & ann controllers to improve dynamic response...eSAT Journals
Abstract Nowadays, vector controlled induction motor drives with variable speed applications are widely used in order to achieve good dynamic performance and wide speed control. In this paper a new method of controlling technique based on Artificial Neural Network is proposed to improve the speed control of indirect vector controlled induction motor drive. Indirect vector controlled induction motor with conventional PI controller is developed and is replaced with Fuzzy logic controller to overcome the problem of overshoot occurred in conventional PI controller. To obtain quick steady state response and better speed control, ANN technique is proposed and implemented using MATLAB/Simulink. In this paper the speed, torque and stator voltage responses with conventional PI controller, Fuzzy logic controller and proposed artificial neural network based controller are compared and found that the proposed ANN based controller showed increased dynamic performance. Power optimisation scheme of induction motor using FLC for electric vehicleAsoka Technologies
In electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid EVs, energy efficiency is essential where the energy storage is limited. Adding to its high stability and low cost, the induction motor efficiency improves with loss minimisation. Also, it can consume more power than the actual need to perform its working when it is operating in less than full load condition. This study proposes a control strategy based on the fuzzy logic control (FLC) for EV applications. FLC controller can improve the starting current amplitude and saves more power. Through the MATLAB/SIMULINK software package, the performance of this control was verified through simulation. As compared with the conventional proportional integral derivative controller, the simulation schemes show good, high-performance results in time-domain response and rapid rejection of system-affected disturbance. Therefore, the core losses of the induction motor are greatly reduced, and in this way improves the efficiency of the driving system. Finally, the suggested control system is validated by the experimental results obtained in the authors’ laboratory, which are in good agreement with the simulation results.

FLC based on static var compensator for power system transient stability enha...TELKOMNIKA JOURNAL
Transient Stability is the capability of a system to be able to return to its normal state after experiencing large disturbances. The static var compensator (SVC) is a shunt device of the flexible AC transmission systems (FACTS) family using power electronics to improve transient stability in power system. For the SVC control, it is usually used a PI controller, although PI controller is simpler and cheaper but not suitable when power system is subjected to transient stability since power system become non-linear system. In order to overcome this problem, the PI controller combined with Fuzzy controller is designed. Two types of faults were considered for this study to examine the effect of the fuzzy-SVC controller on system transient stability, the proposed fault types are single line to ground fault and three lines to ground fault. The performance and behavior of the designed fuzzy controller compared with that of the conventional PI controller in term of terminal voltage, rotor angle, and transmission line active power.

An Automatic Load Controller for Domestic Applicationsijtsrd
This paper presents a system to avoid the procedure of load shedding. Here the relation with frequency and power is utilized. A system of automatic controlling of devices which will help us to save the power to a greater extend is proposed here. For each device connected to the system, a cutoff frequency is fixed. When the frequency of the power supply goes below this cutoff frequency, the particular device will be automatically turned off and the device will return to its normal operating condition when the frequency reaches its normal value. This paper presents steps in designing dimensions of antenna and feed in axisymmetrical Cassegrain Antennas. Corrugated conical horns are used as feeds in applications with circular polarization. In the initial design steps, diameter of the main reflector is determined considering communication link budget, then feed dimensions are designed to create optimum aperture efficiency. In the last step of design, considering feed dimensions and the amount of its center phase displacements with respect to its aperture plane, dimensions of subreflector is determined to avoid additional blockage. To illustrate the procedure, an applicative design example is presented in X-band.

Speed Control of Induction Motor Using PLC and SCADA SystemIJERA Editor
Automation or automatic control is the use of various control systems for operating equipment such as
machinery, processes in factories, boilers and heat-treating ovens, switching in telephone networks, steering and
stabilization of ships, aircraft and other applications with minimal or reduced human intervention. Some
processes have been completely automated. The motor speed is controlled via the driver as an open loop control.
To make a more precise closed loop control of motor speed we will use a tachometer to measure the speed and
feed it back to the PLC, which compares to the desired value and take a control action, then the signal is
transferred to the motor – via driver – to increase / decrease the speed. We will measure the speed of the motor
using an incremental rotary encoder by adjusting parameters (PLC, driver) and also we need to reduce the
overall cost of the system. Our control system will be held using the available Siemens PLC. In addition, we will
monitor motor parameters via SCADA system.

In the past two decades, the utilization of supplementary excitation control signals for improving the dynamic stability of power systems has received much attention. In recent years, several approaches based on intelligent control and optimization techniques have been applied to PSS design problem. This paper introduces a review on the techniques applied on the conventional PSS design only. Power System Stabilizer (PSS) is the most cost effective approach of increase the system positive damping, improve the steady-state stability margin, and suppress the low-frequency oscillation of the power system. A PSS has to perform well under operating point variations. This paper introduces a review on the techniques applied on the conventional PSS design only. The techniques could be mainly classified into linear and nonlinear.

Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Controller Based Power System Stabilizer for Damping of ...IJMTST Journal
Maximum power transfer and optimal power flow is desired which is affected by the inter area oscillation
of low frequency .To avoid low frequency inter area power oscillations power system stabilizer is added to
the automatic voltage regulators on the generators. Stabilizer provides the means to damp these low
frequency power oscillations .Different types of stabilizers are available to damp power oscillations still a
power system stabilizers can be developed to effectively damp low frequency power oscillations. Without
increasing the system complexity these oscillations can be reduced with the help of developing power system
stabilizer to damp the low frequency inter area power oscillations.
Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Interface system (ANFIS) is designed to achieve fast and effective power oscillation
damping in two area four machine power system. This work is implemented with MATLAB simulink 2012(b).
Also comparative analysis of low frequency power oscillation damping of ANFIS controller based stabilizer
and conventional PID power system stabilizer is presented in this paper. Comparison of results show that
low frequency inter area power oscillation damping of ANFIS controller based stabilizer is much higher than
PID power system stabilizer. Also damping time provided by ANFIS controller based power system stabilizer
is 75% less in comparison to PID power system stabilizer .
DESIGN OF MPSS AND TCSC DAMPING CONTROLLERS IN MULTI- MACHINE POWER SYSTEM U...Editor IJMTER
The main approach of this paper is to do the small signal analysis in a two area four
machine power system which has coordinated design of both MPSS and TCSC. TCSC controller is
design based on power oscillation damping controller which is used for voltage series compensation
at the voltage sag, voltage swell .Small signal stability analysis is nothing but analysis in power
system for low frequency components in the range of 0.1hz to 2hz.Linear modeling of the power
system is carried out to find out the frequency analysis at the different system components like
transformer, other devices. BFO algorithm is used to minimize an Eigen value based multi-objective
in which it tunes the parameter of the POD controller ,it will be improve the system stability and it
saves the computational cost and in less iterations we can achieve the good optimized POD
parameter values. The time domain simulation in MATLAB/SIMULINK environment carried out on
two area four machine power system over various perturbations shows that superior enhancement in
damping of power system oscillations has been obtained by utilizing proposed PSS-POD coordinated
controllers in comparison with the CPSS-POD.

Abstract
This paper is basically based on the optimization of working of Automatic voltage regulator by the proportional Intigral
derivative controller. In this analysis, optimization is done by very novel concept Particle Swarm Optimization and simulated
using MATLAB Simulink software. The primary reason for a programmed voltage controller framework is to keep the voltage
extent of a synchronous generator at a predetermined level the generator excitation framework keeps up the generator voltage
and controls the reactive power stream.

Intelligent control included ANFIS and type-2 fuzzy (T2FLS) controllers grown-up rapidly and these controllers are applied successfully in power system control. Meanwhile, small signal stability problem appear in a largescale power system (LSPS) due to load fluctuation. If this problem persists, and can not be solved, it will develop blackout on the LSPS. How to improve the LSPS stability due to load fluctuation is done in this research by coordinating of PSS based on ANFIS and T2FLS. The ANFIS parameters are obtained automatically by training process. Meanwhile, the T2FLS parameters are determined based on the knowledge that obtained from the ANFIS parameters. Input membership function (MF) of the ANFIS is 5 Gaussian MFs. On the other hand, input MF of the T2FLS is 3 Gaussian MFs. Results show that the T2FLS-PSS is able to maintain the stability by decreasing peak overshoot for rotor speed and angle. The T2FLS-PSS makes the settling time is shorter for rotor speed and angle on local mode oscillation as well as on inter-area oscillation than conventional/ ANFIS-PSS. Also, the T2FLS-PSS gives better performance than the other PSS when tested on single disturbance and multiple disturbances.
Model based PI power system stabilizer design for damping low frequency oscil...ISA Interchange
This paper explores a two-level control strategy by blending a local controller with a centralized controller for the low frequency oscillations in a power system. The proposed control scheme provides stabilization of local modes using a local controller and minimizes the effect of inter-connection of sub-systems performance through a centralized control. For designing the local controllers in the form of proportional-integral power system stabilizer (PI-PSS), a simple and straight forward frequency domain direct synthesis method is considered that works on use of a suitable reference model which is based on the desired requirements. Several examples both on one machine infinite bus and multi-machine systems taken from the literature are illustrated to show the efficacy of the proposed PI-PSS. The effective damping of the systems is found to be increased remarkably which is reflected in the time-responses; even unstable operation has been stabilized with improved damping after applying the proposed controller. The proposed controllers give remarkable improvement in damping the oscillations in all the illustrations considered here and as for example, the value of damping factor has been increased from 0.0217 to 0.666 in Example 1. The simulation results obtained by the proposed control strategy are favorably compared with some controllers prevalent in the literature.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
