A reasonable way of "dating" the 1960s is with the "British invasion" of American music. This refers to the numerous British groups, admirers and emulators of American rock and roll, who broke into the U.S. market during the early 1960s. The invasion was spearheaded by : the Beatles , the Rolling stones , The Kinks ,The Monkeys , Petula Clarke .

Ξεκίνθςε το Hard rock και το Glam rock . τα μζςα τθσ δεκαετίασ εμφανίςτθκε θ Punk μουςικι. Αυτι θ μουςικι ιταν τρόποσ ηωισ για πολλοφσ νζουσ που αντιμετϊπιηαν καυςτικά τα προβλιματα , όπωσ θ ανεργία , θ οικονομικι κρίςθ , ο αςτικόσ κακωςπρεπιςμόσ , θ κοινωνικι υποκριςία , το καταπιεςτικό εκπαιδευτικό ςφςτθμα.

Rock music played an important part in the Western musical scene, with punk rock thriving throughout the mid to late 1970s. Other sub-genres of rock, particularly glam, hard rock, progressive, art rock, and heavy metal achieved various amounts of success. Alice Cooper, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Nazareth, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult, and Kiss were highly popular by the mid 1970's. By the second half of the decade, several bands had achieved

( Είχε ιδθ κάνει κραφςθ ςτθν Καραϊβικι και ςτθν Αφρικι απ’ τθ δεκαετία του ’60 ) • Other genres such as reggae were innovative throughout the decade and grew a significant following . Alongside the popularity of experimental music, the decade was notable for its contributions to electronic music, which rose in popularity with the continued development of synthesizers and harmonizers; more composers embraced this particular genre, gaining the notice of listeners who were looking for something new and different.

Μάρτιν Λοφκερ Κινγκ • Μια πολφ ςπουδαία επανάςταςθ του 20ου αιϊνα ιταν το κίνθμα για τθν απελευκζρωςθ των μαφρων .τισ ΗΠΑ υπιρχε μια μακραίωνθ ιςτορία δουλείασ , καταπίεςθσ και εκμετάλλευςθσ ςε βάροσ των μαφρων . • τθν ιςτορία αυτι κζλθςε να βάλει τζρμα ο μεγάλοσ μαφροσ ειρθνιςτισ Μάρτιν Λοφκερ Κίνγκ , τθ δεκαετία του ’60 με το όραμά του για τθν απελευκζρωςθ των μαφρων και τθν κατάργθςθ των φυλετικϊν διακρίςεων . Μια επανάςταςθ κατά βάςθ ειρθνικι απ’ τθν οποία όμωσ δεν ζλειψαν και κάποια εξτρεμιςτικά ςτοιχεία , όπωσ οι Μαφροι Πάνκθρεσ .
- 14. “ I havea dream” • Κορυφαία ςτιγμι του κινιματοσ ιταν θ διάςθμθ τεράςτια πορεία ςτθν Ουάςιγκτον τον Αφγουςτο του 1963 , όπου ο Μάρτιν Λοφκερ Κίνγκ εκφϊνθςε ςε παγκόςμια τθλεοπτικι μετάδοςθ τον περίφθμο λόγο του , που άρχιηε “ I have a dream”
- 15. Σα Νζγρικα • Οαπόθχοσ των αγϊνων των μαφρων για τα δικαιϊματά τουσ φτάνει και ςτθν Ελλάδα . Σο 1975 ο ςυνκζτθσ Μάνοσ Λοΐηοσ και ο ςτιχουργόσ Γιάννθσ Νεγρεπόντθσ κυκλοφόρθςαν τον δίςκο τα νζγρικα , με κζμα τισ φυλετικζσ διακρίςεισ και τθν άνιςθ μεταχείριςθ των νζγρων ζναντι των λευκϊν. • On the other hand the Martin Luther march inspired Greek composer Negrepondis who composed the ‘’ Niger songs ‘’.
