Srila Prabhupada envisioned establishing varnasrama communities based on spiritual principles to benefit all of humanity. He wanted ISKCON farms to demonstrate the full varnasrama system and believed this could change the world by destroying the foundation of animal civilization. Prabhupada emphasized simple living with farming and distributing spiritual books as the solid programs to advance Krishna consciousness globally and bring peace to the world.

Devotion to Godhead was his ultimate aim and when I say that his
sacred memory should be perpetuated not in the ordinary way but in

done in the following manner.
 In the midst of his multifarious duties, Gandhiji never missed to
attend to his randhun kirtana meeting.
… As such the easy way to raise the moral standard of people in
general, is to make this sankirtana movement more popular all over
the world by philosophical discourses based on reasoning and moral
and ethical codes…

9. Prabhupäda: Yes. In the... For the big scale, this is the required. In big scale you cannot
make all of them as brähmanas or sannyäsis. No. That is not possible. This is a small
scale. How many percentage of people of the world we are controlling? Very
insignificant. But if you want to make the whole human society perfect, then this
Krishna consciousness movement should be introduced according to the Krishna's
instruction, if you want to do it in a large scale for the benefit of the whole human
society.
Now we are picking up some of them, best. That is another thing. But Chaitanya
Mahäprabhu said para-upakära. [From Ädi 9.41: "{One who has taken his birth as a
human being in the land of India (Bhärata-varsha) should make his life successful and}
work for the benefit of all other people."] Why a certain section should be picked up?
The whole mass of people will get the benefit of it. Then it is required, systematic. Sve
sve karmaëy abhirataù saàsiddhià labhate naraù. [From Bg. 18.45: "By following his
qualities of work, every man can become perfect..."] Para-upakära means mass
benefit, not there is certain section. Then we have to introduce this varnasrama
dharma. It must be done perfectly, and it is possible and people will be happy...

demonstrate the full varnasrama
system. If these farms become
successful then the whole world
will be enveloped by Krishna
consciousness.

According to the association of different natures, we get a body:
käraëam guëa-sango ’asya sad-asad-yoni-janmasu. Therefore we
should always seek good association, devotee association. Then our
life will be successful. If we live with good association, then we
cultivate knowledge. That means association. A man is known by his
company. So if we have chance of association with devotees, then
our character, nature becomes better. By hearing, by discussing
Srimad-Bhägavatam, this raja-guëa, tama-guëa are subdued. Then
sattva-guëa remains. nañöa-präyeñv abhadreñu nityaà bhägavata-
sevayä. Then raja-guna, tama-guna cannot so harm us. Therefore
varnasrama dharma is essential that people live in sattva-guna, Tama-
guaa, raja-guna increases lust and greediness, and that implicates the
living entity who exists in the material world in many many forms.
That is very dangerous. Therefore they should be brought to sattva-
guna by the establishment of varnasrama dharma.

Therefore I am asking so much

farm..." That is not my program-

Produce greenness everywhere,

this motorcar civilization. If it has
taken in his brain, then it is to be
understood that he can do this
plan. He'll be able.

Prabhupäda: Yes. We are
working. We are not sitting idle.
Now, for our food, if we just get
some food by plowing some land
for the animal, cows, and for me,
and the cow is giving me milk,
the tree are giving me fruit, why
shall I work so hard? The
business of dogs and hogs,
whole day and night simply
working for getting food and
sense gratification? That is not
civilization. Live peacefully, get
your nice food, and save time to
advance in spiritual life.

16. Renunciation Through Wisdom (2.10)
Many may claim that in the
modern age material scientists
have helped increase
agricultural yield. But we
fearlessly proclaim that it is
precisely such atheistic views
that have brought the world to
the present acute food crisis. If
we are not careful, the day will
soon come when fruits will be
reduced to just skin and seed,
cows' udders will dry up, and
paddy fields will grow only grass.
The scriptures predict that these
things will come to pass in the
Kali-yuga.

Prabhupäda: Yes. The oxen will solve the
problem of transport. That bullock cart. Just
like Kåñëa, when He was transferred from
Gokula to Nandagräma, so they took all the
bullock carts, and within a few hours they
transported them, the whole thing, their
luggage, family member, everything.
Bhagavän: How far can a bullock cart travel in
one day?
Prabhupäda: At least ten miles, very easily, very
easily. And maximum he can travel fifteen
miles, twenty miles. But when we are
localized, we don't require to go beyond ten
miles, five miles. Because we have created a
rubbish civilization, therefore one is required
to go fifty miles for earning bread, hundred
miles, hanging.

We must develop our Krishna Consciousness school at Dallas to be
the model for education in all the world, and let anyone see our
Krishna Consciousness children and they will immediately
understand the importance and necessity for such education
amongst the citizens at large. Otherwise, the children of your
country and other countries, they are simply growing up to be
sophisticated animals, so what good will their education do? But if
they will agree to try to understand our Krishna Consciousness
education or way of life and allow their children to be educated by
us, they will see them come out as the topmost citizens with all
good qualities such as honesty, cleanliness, truthfulness, loyalty, etc.
So that is a very important work and you are especially responsible
to make it successful. All other GBC men should give you all
assistance for building up the standard there.

What was possible for Dhruva
Maharaja is possible for anyone.
Any five-year-old child can be
trained, and within a very short time
his life will become successful by
realization of Krsna consciousness.
Unfortunately, this training is lacking

the leaders of the Krsna
consciousness movement to start
educational institutions in different
parts of the world to train children,
starting at the age of five years.
Thus such children will not become
hippies or spoiled children of
society; rather, they can all become
devotees of the Lord. The face of
the world will then change
automatically.
