SPICE is a general-purpose circuit simulation program used to simulate nonlinear DC, nonlinear transient, and linear AC analyses. It was developed in the 1970s at the University of California, Berkeley to save money by simulating circuits instead of physically building them. SPICE allows users to place circuit components graphically, change simulation parameters easily, and run simulations to obtain output, helping engineers learn circuit behavior without physical construction.
