The document proposes strategies for SK to enter China's car battery market by providing lithium-ion batteries to hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) manufacturers. It analyzes the competitive landscape, customer segments, and policies supporting the growth of HEVs in China. Three potential strategies are recommended: becoming a pure supplier, strategic partner of Chery, or cooperating with bus companies.
The global stock of electric vehicles surpassed 1 million in 2015, up significantly from previous years. Policy support has lowered costs and extended vehicle range, helping more countries achieve over 1% electric car market share in 2015. China became the largest electric car market in 2015, surpassing the United States for the first time. Substantial new electric vehicle charging infrastructure was also installed globally in 2015 to support electric vehicle deployment. Further technological progress and economies of scale are still needed to achieve cost parity with gasoline vehicles and facilitate widespread electric vehicle adoption.

SCALING TO MEET THE COMING TIDAL WAVE OF NEED FOR EVSEDesignTeam8
The document discusses the inadequate state of electric vehicle charging infrastructure in the US and the challenges in scaling up to meet growing demand. It notes that while 2 million EVs were on US roads by late 2021, the ratio of public chargers is only 1 per 20 EVs currently, and will worsen to 1 per 40 EVs by late 2022. Building out the necessary millions of private chargers (95% of the market) at locations like apartments, offices and fleets is difficult due to limited electrical capacity at most sites and high costs of upgrades. Data-driven, real-time power management is needed to maximize the number of chargers per site within the existing power constraints.
The document outlines a business plan for a startup developing a wireless EV charging solution called Mobi. The company conducted extensive customer research including over 100 interviews and traveled over 6,600 miles. Their solution aims to make EV charging more convenient and scalable by using autonomous robotic chargers that can move to vehicles. The business model canvas details potential partners, activities, value propositions, customer relationships, segments, resources, channels, cost structure, and revenue streams as the company tests various hypotheses to refine their model.

Abstract :
Electric vehicle market is expected to witness phenomenal growth in the coming years. Increasing fuel costs, rise in pollution level and increasing government support will boost the adoption of electric vehicles in India.
The report highlights the analysis of the drivers and explains the factors for growth of the industry. Government Initiatives, Rise in fuel costs, Low operating and maintenance cost and foreign dependence for crude oil are the key drivers for the Electric Vehicle Market in India. Recently, MNRE had implemented the Alternate Fuels for Surface Transportation Program to subsidize the purchase of electric vehicles. Domestic electric vehicle industry has witnessed significant short term growth owing to the various initiatives undertaken by the Indian government. Fuel costs play a vital role in influencing the consumer’s automobile purchase decision. Indian automobile industry has been witnessing sluggish demand and one of the primary reasons for this is increase in fuel prices. Use of electric vehicles is likely to reduce the increasing dependence on foreign crude oil as electricity can be generated from various natural resources in India. As electric vehicles are considered to be zero-polluting, increasing usage of such vehicles can aid in bringing down the country’s level of pollution.

Abstract:
Netscribes’ latest market research report titled Power Backup Market in India 2014 states the demand-supply gap in power distribution as the main reason for the boom in the power backup market. The power backup sector can be categorized into four broad segments, UPS, Diesel Generators, Inverters and Batteries. UPS segment has witnessed a consistent rise in demand owing to the rapid development of the IT sector along with growing consciousness among individuals to protect costly electronic equipments which can be adversely affected by sudden power failures. Demand for generator sets come from various sectors such as IT and ITes, telecom and construction while inverters are primarily used in households, shops and commercial establishments.
Manufacturing hub of the Indian power backup industry is concentrated in North India, particularly Himachal Pradesh, and Kolkata. Power deficit in the southern region of the country has triggered the demand for power backup in these regions. Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala generate the highest share of the overall demand for power backup in the country. Shortage in coal and gas, the primary raw materials for power generation, further aggravates the shortage in power supply. With time, consumers have emerged to be less tolerant about the duration of power cuts, thus providing tremendous growth prospects, which players can capitalize upon.

1847 Holdings LLC, a publicly traded diversified acquisition holding company, was founded by Ellery W. Roberts, a former partner of Parallel Investment Partners, Saunders Karp & Megrue and Principal of Lazard Freres Strategic Realty Investors. EFSH's investment thesis is that capital market inefficiencies have left the founders and/or stakeholders of many small business enterprises and lower-middle market businesses with limited exit options, despite the intrinsic value of their business. Given this dynamic, EFSH can consistently acquire "solid" businesses for reasonable multiples of cash flow and then deploy resources to strengthen the infrastructure and systems to improve operations. These improvements may lead to a sale or IPO of an operating subsidiary at considerably higher valuations than the purchase price (as successfully demonstrated with the mid-2020 IPO of 1847 Goedeker on the NYSE American) and/or alternatively, an operating subsidiary may be held in perpetuity and contribute to EFSH's ability to pay regular and special dividends to shareholders.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:

Cosa hanno in comune un mattoncino Lego e la backdoor XZ?Speck&Tech
ABSTRACT: A prima vista, un mattoncino Lego e la backdoor XZ potrebbero avere in comune il fatto di essere entrambi blocchi di costruzione, o dipendenze di progetti creativi e software. La realtà è che un mattoncino Lego e il caso della backdoor XZ hanno molto di più di tutto ciò in comune.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

Solar PV generation increased 22% (+131
TWh) in 2019 and represented the second-
largest absolute generation growth of all
renewable technologies.
As competitiveness continues to improve,
solar PV is still on track to reach the levels
envisioned in the IAE’s Sustainable
Development Scenario, which will require
average annual growth of 15% between
2019 and 2030.
