tense forms 
Curricular Statements 
The learners: 
1)get to know about different forms of tenses. 
2)develop the ability to identify tenses 
3)understand the usage of tense forms 
Content Analysis 
The form of the verb that expresses the time of 
the action is called tense. Since there are three 
divisions of time(present, past and future), there 
are three main tenses: Present tense, past tense
and Future tense. Each of these tense forms has 
four different forms. 
Pre-Requisites 
The Learners 
1) have heard of tenses 
2) have studied verb 
Teaching-Learning Resources 
Charts with activities 
Teacher warms up the learners by asking some 
casual questions. 
1)How are you all? 
2)Have you ever thought of time? 
3)What do you know about time? 
Teacher makes the concept clear to the learners 
by mentioning about tenses. 
Tenses are the different forms of verbs indicating 
the time of action or state.
Teacher then explains the learners about different 
forms of tenses. 
In English, we have three tenses. They are 
present, Past and Future tenses. 
Teacher first explains the present tense. 
The four different forms of present tense are: 
1)Simple Present Tense 
2)Present Continuous Tense 
3)Present Perfect Tense 
4)Present Perfect Continuous Tense 
Teacher provides the learners with the activity 
chart carrying present tenses. 
Teacher asks the learners to create a sentence 
using subject ,auxiliary verbs and different forms 
of content words, and an object. 
Teacher makes them aware of different tense 
forms by giving them the structural rules of 
present tense forms. 
1)Simple Present Tense

Teacher makes the concept clear by giving 
examples.

Eg:I am writing a letter 
He is writing a letter 
They are writing a book 
3) present Perfect Tense

Eg: I have written a letter.

4) present perfect continuous tense

Teacher makes the learners thorough with 
concepts by giving them more exercise.
Teacher gives the rules of past tense forms and 
future tense forms also.
