This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
3. There are nine planets in our solar system:
04/05/14
Mercury
Mars
Jupiter
Saturn
Neptune
Uranus
Pluto
Venus
Earth
4. The Sun is the star at the centre of the Solar
System. The Earth and other matter orbit the
Sun, which by itself accounts for about 99.8%
of the Solar System's mass.
5. Mercury is the innermost and smallest planet in
the solar system, orbiting the Sun once every 88
days.
6. VENUS
VENUS IS SISTER PLANET TO EARTH. IT HAS
NO MOONS OR RINGS. IT IS COVERED WITH
CRATERS,VOLCANOES AND MOUNTAINS.
7. Earth is the third planet from the Sun. Earth is the largest of
the terrestrial planets in the Solar System in diameter, mass
and density.
8. Mars pronounced is the fourth planet from the Sun in the Solar System.
The planet is named after Mars, the Roman god of war. It is also
referred to as the "Red Planet" because of its reddish appearance.
9. Jupiter is the fifth planet from the Sun and the largest planet within
the Solar System. It is two and a half times as massive as all of the
other planets in our Solar System combined. Jupiter is classified as a
gas giant, along with Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.
10. Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun and the
second largest planet in the Solar System, after
Jupiter.
11. Uranus or is the seventh planet from the Sun and
the third-largest and fourth-most massive planet in
the solar system.
12. Neptune is the eighth and farthest planet from the
Sun in the Solar System. It is the fourth largest
planet by diameter, and the third largest by mass.
13. A star is a massive, luminous ball of plasma. The nearest star to Earth is the Sun, which is the
source of most of the energy on Earth. Other stars are visible in the night sky, when they are
not outshone by the Sun.
14. A meteorite is a natural object originating in outer space that survives an impact
with the Earth's surface. While in space it is called a meteoroid. When it enters the
atmosphere, impact pressure causes the body to heat up and emit light, thus
forming a fireball, also known as a meteor or shooting star.
