culture.Acculturationallowsindividualstokeeptheirculturalidentity,while
assimilationrequires givingupapreviousidentity.Bothinvolvelearningnew
language,adoptingnewcustoms,changingreligious beliefs.

4. Conflicttakesplaceonaconsciouslevel,competitionisunconscious.Competition
isnon-violent,butconflictmaycreateviolence.Conflictinvolvescontact,
competitiondoesnot.Competition isacontinuousprocess,butconflictisan
intermittentprocess.

5. STRATIFICATION:
Stratificationisdefinedastheactof
sortingdata,people,andobjectsinto
distinctgroupsorlayers.Itisatechnique
usedincombinationwithotherdata
analysistools.
EXAMPLE:

categorizationofitspeopleintorankings
basedonfactorslikewealth,income,
