This document outlines an action planning session from a social media training. It includes links to resources on Pinterest and StockXchange used in the session. The document discusses identifying ideas and actions to take, obstacles to address, and developing short video assignments on issues to promote through social media. Participants were also assigned to write blog posts reflecting on their video projects.

At the Meetup kickoff event, we introduced the concepts of social innovation and design thinking. The participants were taken through a fun and interactive exercise that served as an icebreaker as well as an introduction to some of the concepts in design thinking, empathy, active listening, and prototyping. No fixed answers = to think about! Just 2 mins to discuss, then feed in briefly! Just taking mobile phones as an example… could also discuss the introduction of paper – can be seen as ‘disruptive’ … people can doodle & not pay attention when you’re talking… E.g. thinking we make more flexible plans, cancel more … what happens when your battery runs out? Do you feel lost/relieved, etc.?
Final word – remember – there is always a human being at the other end of the keyboard… think before you type…Questions?
