Using Social media to its fullest for PMI chapters takes practice – like learning to ride a bike, swim or drive
Social media is a2 way conversation between the ones that follow you and the those you follow; not a megaphone
Build your presence one platform at a time. Start with the most established platforms before attempting newer platforms.
Share content at regular intervals, not in bursts.
Learn to show genuine appreciation frequently. Also, each platform offers different ways to say thank you.
People chose to follow you, validate that chosice by showing gratitude.
Add humor and a human side to what you share.
Define success from the begininig, preferably beforeyou even set-up an account. What are you looking for? What is your strategy?
Once you have defined what success looks like by creatinga social media strategy and plan, measuring progress towards those goals is critical. There are numerous tools to measure success online. Tha platform you use will help to define the tools you use.
Brand is your most important asset. Be vigilant about ensuring that you follow the guidelines for logo and naming convention.
Make sure you are consistent across all platforms to ensure you followrs recognise it.
Automate, automate.
Volunteers have limited time to spend, they have lives, families, carrers, other responsibilities pulling at their time. They should focus on creating the best content and not worring about posting the content in different palces.
Tools like Hootsuite can help automate the content distribution. Scheduling automated posts in advance, set-up auto tweets when publishing to the website can save time.
Have Fun!
Social Media is about being Social.
When you enjoy the process of engaging with those following you on SM that comes across as genuine and helps increase your exposure which will lead to increase sharing of your content and even increased fundraising.
That's it in a very quick overview. Hope will help you.
