Introduction to social bookmarking Social bookmarking is used by marketers to run low-cost and effective grassroots marketing campaigns. Social bookmarks allow you to store, rank, search, share, and browse websites, videos, photos, and just about anything else found online. Some social bookmarking sites are StumbleUpon, del.icio.us, and Google Bookmarks.
Cost and timeframe Social bookmarking is a free, or very low-cost way to market your sites. If you already have a blog or a website then adding some bookmarking features to your existing or future content just requires a bit of time. Patience and time are needed to allow for a viral effect to take place.
Action plan You must look for influential people with large contact lists to help. They can work wonders in helping to build networks, recommend others, and create a large base for you to work with. It should go without saying that the content you create should be of a high order and quality. In addition to the main article you can also consider adding photos or videos.
Tips Topics covered should always be relevant, well-written, and informative to your clients. Professionalism should be your priority, and you must welcome, moderate, and respond to visitors comments. RSS feeds will give your readers the opportunity to quickly and easily stay connected with your publications, which will eventually lead to more readers.
Additional considerations Posting any funny, poignant, or just plain weird videos on your site, even if they are not really related to your overall theme is a good way to take a shot at getting some stray hits.
