Foursquare conducted its first survey of businesses ("advertisers") using their platform. The survey found that most advertisers have been on Foursquare for less than 6 months and believe it helps their business grow. Most advertisers track check-ins and have claimed their Google Places page. Nearly all have websites and Facebook pages. The majority have advertising budgets under $5,000 and only 10% said they would pay to advertise on Foursquare.
