Detail explanation about the HOQ ( House of quality ) concept in engineering ...Nt Arvind
while designing a new marketing based or feasibility product we have to look a proper understanding about the concepts of engineering design concepts
House of quality is also known as Quality function deployment
In today's highly competitive market environment, products that fully respond to customer expectations must be designed for survival and growth of the company. Therefore, defining and analyzing customer expectations is an important issue. In recent years, one of the most commonly used and effective methods for resolving the issue is Quality Function Deployment (QFD). As a customer-oriented approach that reflects consumer expectations, QFD provides the planning/improvement of the process by taking advantage of this information. In this study, the QFD method was used to identify and analyze the expectations of students enrolled in a language school. First, data related to student expectations were received. House of quality was established and evaluated, and as a result of the study, managers were informed that the teaching techniques practised by the teachers and equipment of the school should be developed by adopting a new trend. In the account. Based on these results, administrators are advised to improve the student's satisfaction. This study provides key researchers and decision makers working on the QFD approach and its programs in the education sector.
Methods and Techniques to Improve the Design of Cell Phones Using Quality Fun...Prathamesh Mohite
With the advancement of technology the world is becoming increasingly interconnected, both
economically and socially. Over the years there has been a significant increase in the percentage of people
accessing the internet and using a mobile phone. The quality of mobile services and the smartphones is
ultimately judged on the basis of one key factor that is, customer satisfaction. This is particularly true in case of
third or fourth generation connectivity. For this purpose we make use of QFD to acquire and analyse the
voice of customer (VOC) and then transform it into product requirements and quality assurance measures
throughout the design, build, test, commercialisation and even product retirement process. In this paper we
have presented an example to illustrate the use of QFD in the process of designing a smartphone based on
customer reviews and their requirements.

QSO 300 Final Project Guidelines and Rubric
Overview
The final project for this course is the creation of a comprehensive case study analysis. Every business—whether a beauty salon, automobile manufacturer, or
professional baseball team—has an operations component that creates goods and services by transforming inputs into outputs. There are a wide variety of tools
and techniques that operations managers draw upon to increase efficiency and effectiveness, creating value for customers. Operations management
professionals are in high demand across a variety of industries. Having basic knowledge of operations functions and their integration capabilities is critically
important in the world of business. For example, applying the limitations of production in marketing and sales is a routine task. Managing the equipment and
supplies needs of operations management is a basic skill looked for in finance and accounting workers.
For your final assessment in this course, you will analyze a case study that addresses several key operations management fundamentals. You will use the tools
and techniques that operations managers use and incorporate your instructor’s feedback into the final summative analysis. You will address the typical problems
that operations managers face using the knowledge you have gained from this course. Finally, you will discuss the emerging concepts of sustainability in business
management, specifically the topics of corporate responsibility and environmental compliance.
The project is divided into three milestones, which will be submitted at various points throughout the course to scaffold learning and ensure quality final

In this assignment, you will demonstrate your mastery of the following course outcomes:
Evaluate the influence of operations functions on generating value for a firm and its customers
Explain theories and techniques used by operations managers for informing production processes
Accurately apply problem-solving and decision-making skills to real-world problems using quantitative and qualitative methodologies
Integrate emerging principles into operations management functions by addressing corporate responsibility and environmental sustainability

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

3. Case Study: Services Operations Management at XYZRestaurant
XYZ restaurant has been performing satisfactorily over the last 30 years. It opened its first outlet in
the year 1980 in Pune, and since then it has grown to 1000 outlets in the mid-east Asia. In the year
2000, XYZ restaurant enjoyed the maximum footfall in almost all the nations it was present. By
2005, it added Italian and French food in its menu to compete with the established international
brands in this field. XYZ followed a process of service operations management, which focuses on
delivering excellent services to the customers.
After some time, XYZ faced a problem of low quality of French and Italian food that was not at par
with other restaurants. The nations of mid-east Asia did not welcome the change in the image of
XYZ from local food chain restaurant to international restaurant. The customers found lower
quality of French and Italian foods in XYZ than they used to get in other restaurants. The offering,
delivery and image of XYZ could not match the new services and customers avoided to visit XYZ for
Italian and French foods. The market of this restaurant was still favouring its local sense of cooking
food. XYZ soon reverted to the earlier service operations and policies of local belongingness and
thus recoveredthe lost customers.
Discussion questions:

4 Organization: Fortune solutions

The market place for pharmaceutical companies is highly competitive. As a result there is a need for
a flexible, accurate and responsive global planning process to support the key factors of rapid time
to market, rapid response to demand changes, low costs. Each difficult tocombine and form a global
view of demand and supply and to maximise sales opportunities. The requirement was to create a
standard SOP process to be used at all the supply chains, incorporating company and industry best
practice. The solution for this problem was developed as follows: A workshop analysed all SOP
models used within the company and compared these with business requirements and best
practice. As a result of combined SOP models, the organisation was able to develop a best fit SOP
model that could be rolled out across the company. The workshop produced a detailed
documentation which described about inputs, meeting agendas and attendees, outputs, key
performance indicators foreach stage of the process.
A simulation of the full SOP model was developed that enabled final design improvements to be
made and training of process participants and key stakeholders. This allowed a successful
implementation plan to be developed. Upon implementing, the process was tried on trial run for a
period of 4 months to facilitate fine tuning. The resulting SOP model was then rolled out across the
company to achieve full benefits. The rapid implementation of a standardised SOP process gave
immediate benefits to the fortune solutions in terms of:
Increased customer service level and superior product availability.
Reduced costs fromhigher resource utilisation, reduced waste.
Improved cash flow due to optimized inventory and improved schedule adherence.
Give the reason for developing a standardized SOP process. How was the solution developed ? What
are the benefits of a standardized SOP process.
