A sensor is a physical system that responds to a
type of stimulus by creating a useful response. A
sensor contains a special material that gives a
particular response to a particular stimulus.

the sponge because its not
a living thing and it
temperature was similar to
the lab’s temperature
in this experiment we explored many sensors, we
realized that each smart sensor has a different
stimulus and different response depending on its
purpose
we made a microphone using PVDF
films. We used flexible PVDF and rigid
PVDF , after testing them out that the
flexible PVDF is more sensitive

5. We used the molecular modal kits to
build the monomer C2F2H2
(difluoroethylene) which Is the building
monomer of the PVDF, then we built the
PVDF polymer (polyvinylidene
fluoride) of the repeating units
Of C2F2H2.
We dropped an iron ball ((different
sizes)) on the PVDF to test the
piezoelectricity of the PVDF. Also we
used a hair dryer to test the
pyroelectricity of the it.
• In this activity we dropped three coins
over the PVDF from the same height for
three times to get the average voltage.

Hypothesis:
We assume that if Sentry is applied in Qatar, it will
prevent many tragedies, the fruit of this project truly
would be worth the investment. That is because
Sentry will notify the bus driver (or supervisor) if a
child is seated.

The motion detector is going
to be above each chair and as
long as the motion detector
detects the child it is going to
glow so the driver would know
that there is a child in this
seat,and if the motion detector
is not detecting heat the light
will be off .

14. Recommendation:
• We recommend to apply our project in all the school
buses(Karwa) in Qatar
• Sentry can be developed in many ways in the future ((we
can add a smart screen that is connected to a pressure
sensor))

15. Conclusions:
All in all, in our journey with albairaq we learned a lot of things about
smart sensors. Each activity taught us something about it. in activity 1
we discovered that the motion sensor only detect the living things. Also
we explored a lot of smart sensors that we are rounded by in activity 2.
Building a microphone in activity 3 was a great way to know and realise
the difference between the flexible and the rigid PVDF films, and there
is a lot of things that we discovered and learned about in this journey
