This document outlines a proposed smart fire alarm system using a Raspberry Pi and Amazon Web Services. The system would use machine learning and computer vision on images from the Raspberry Pi to detect fires and reduce false alarms. If a fire is detected, the Raspberry Pi would communicate with AWS services like SNS, SQS and Lambda using the MQTT protocol to alert users through a smart home hub. The proposed architecture diagrams this system and the document concludes that this IoT approach could successfully integrate AWS cloud services and deep learning for real-time fire detection with reduced false positives.
