SMART CROP PROTECTION SYSTEM
MECHANICAL DEPARTMENT

Introduction
• Agriculture is the backbone of the economy, It is the primary source of
livelihood for about 58% of India’s population.
• Because of animal interference in agricultural lands, there will be huge loss of
crops
• But there is no very effective to technique to protect the farms from animals.
Hence, we have designed this affordable system to surveillance and to protect
the farm effectively
Need of this project
 Insects have a direct impact on agriculture food production by chewing
the leaves of crop plants, sucking out plant juice, boring within the roots,
stems or leave, and speading plant pathogen
 Wireless security system are becoming popular because of it nature of
being very user-friendly, simple and fast
 The wireless security system have proper battery backup, with internet
they will work even during power outage
 New and improve type of security system are always coming into the
market but it seems quite difficult or expensive
Smart crop protection system from objects
Here we present computerized crop safety system from animal.
This Arduino uno based system device the use of microcontroller.
This technique makes use of motion sensor to discover object or
animals near the sphere. In case system find motion or detect the
object it alerts the micrcontroller now sounds an alarm to woo the
animals away from farm and send the alert (SMS) to the farmer or
make call, in case of difficulty and come to the spot just in case
the animal don’t run away by the alarm
It very important to improve the efficiency and productivity of
agriculture by simultaneously providing safe cultivation for farmers. So
now we have to adopt intelligent machines and latest technologies,
New strategy in various agricultural operations like spraying of
fertilizers and spraying of pesticides there by providing safety to the
farmers and precision agriculture. Digital technologies to enable
farmers to make better decisions about where, when, how much to
fertilize or spray pesticides

The power supply (12v, 1.3Ah battery) will give the power
to the input circuit, the circuit will take the power how
much it is required
 Arduino-Uno
The main component of the circuit is Arduino Uno controller
and it is also known as Heart of the robot. A driver circuit is
connected to Arduino, which is used for the movement of the
robot.
 DC motor
A DC motor is an electrical machine that converts electrical
energy into mechanical energy. In a DC motor produces torque
to move the vehicle
 PIR Sensor
PIR sensors can detect human or animal motion. Humans emit
infrared radiation. When a human comes into the sensing
range of the PIR sensor, these changes in radiations are
detected by the PIR sensor which causes the output of the
sensor to go high.
NodeMCU
NodeMCU is open source based on ESP8266 which connect
object and let data transfer using the wifi protocol
Boost convertor
Boost convertor, the output voltage is grearter than the input
voltage, to be boosted to the desired system voltage level
 Working procces
In our proposed work, when the animal enters into the farm
area. The LDR's placed in the vertical positions help us to detect
the size of the animal whereas PIR sensors are used to detect
position of the animal Immediately, the APR board will be on,
and the sound is played to divert the animal. The message will
be sent to the farmer. The GSM module is used for sending a
message to warn the farmer about the intrusion.
If the pest,insect detect by the system it gave the notification to
the farmer to spray the pesticides to that particular area not the
whole crop to be sprayed the pesticides
 Advantage
 It automatically detect the animal, insect in the crop
 It help full to the farmer health
 For the help of this full farm not to be spray pesticides
 Reduce the labour cost and saves farmer overall cost of
production
 Receive real-time alerts to insects and animal to
reduce crop loss
 Reduces pesticides consumption by applying them only
where crop health is not good
 It increased work efficiency
 Ease to use
