Four key steps were formulated to develop a smart city framework and recommendations for Phuket: 1) developing a smart city framework, 2) conducting a deep dive of smart city services for Phuket, 3) prioritizing services, and 4) detailing shortlisted services. Over 45 stakeholders at national and provincial levels were engaged. Six smart city services were shortlisted: smart electric metering, smart waste management, smart people movement, smart parking, smart environment monitoring, and smart tourism. The white paper aims to provide global examples, align stakeholders, and leverage lessons from Phuket to support national smart city development.
