- 2. Introduction SMAC (social, mobile, analytics and cloud) is the concept that four technologies are currently driving innovation in business that creates an ecosystem to improve its operation. The convergence is proving to be a disruptive force that is creating entirely new business models for service providers.
- 3. Description Social technologies allow for the rapid sharing and creation of knowledge over social networks. Mobile technologies are continuing to evolve, reshaping the technology landscape. Analytics enhance supply chains, facilitate closed-loop marketing, and optimize existing customer relationship management processes Cloud technology is the linchpin of the SMAC stack – and it is quickly becoming the new foundation of the IT ecosystem.
- 4. Trends SMAC has moved beyond the rhetoric. IDC estimates that IT services firms will generate more than $225 billion of revenue from SMAC by 2020. As organizations architect SMAC as the new pillars of revenue growth. SMAC enhances potential for increased revenue, cost savings, employee productivity and customer service. Internal and external structural changes of the business are driving SMAC adoption.
