The document presents a presentation on Six Sigma by Amit Sharma and Mahmood Khan. It defines Six Sigma as a measure of quality that strives for near perfect production processes. It explains the Six Sigma methodology using the DMAIC model of Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control phases. An example is given of how dabbawalas in Mumbai achieve over six sigma levels of accuracy in their lunch deliveries with very few errors. The conclusion states that Six Sigma aims to eliminate inefficiencies and produce excellent products and services through efficient production systems with leadership and resource support.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Dabbawalas pick up 175,000 lunches from homes and deliver to their customers everyday. Only one mistake is made in every 6 million deliveries. Accuracy rating is 99.999999. More than Six Sigma.
23. PRESENTED BY AMIT AND MAHMOOD DEPT. OF FASHION TECHNOLOGY 17 Conclusion Six Sigma is a measure of excellence. Embarking on a Six Sigma program means delivering top-quality service and products while virtually eliminating all internal inefficiencies. A true Six Sigma organization produces not only excellent product but also maintains highly efficient production and administrative systems that work effectively with the company's other service processes . The primary factor in the successful implementation of a six sigma project is to have the necessary resources, the support and leadership of top management.
