Rap Music And Hip Hop
Gangsta rap has been around since the late 1980s, and has been categorized as a specific type of hip
hop. Reflecting the violent lifestyles of many black American youths living within the inner cities of
the West and East coast, gangsta rap became a voice. The genre reflected on and spoke about the harsh
realities of what life for a black person during the 1980s. One of the most prominent rap names during
this era that became the voice for many people throughout the nation was the N.W.A (Niggaz Wit
Attitude) rap group. Originally from the streets of Compton, California, these teenagers decided to
take on a risk, tackling the music industry head on, publishing their own works that spoke out against
corruption. The creation of hip hop s sub genre, gangsta rap during the late 1980s not only sparked
widespread controversy, but also gave black communities a prominent identity within their hip hop
movement of the arts; it offered the nation an understanding of the black struggle through lyrics and
went against established culture.
Hip Hop is the only genre of music that allows us to talk about almost anything. (Flash. Foreword)
Dating back to the late 1970s, hip hop originated within predominantly African American
neighborhoods. The youth, who resided in communities throughout the South Bronx, sparked a
movement and developed a culture within this genre that has had a lasting effect for decades. What
made this genre an aspect of everyday life for these New York

Paleolithic Civilizations
One of the most incredible achievements of Paleolithic people was their ability to migrate across the
globe. Paleolithic people first originated in Eastern Africa near the present day countries of Tanzania,
Uganda, and Kenya. The need for food and resources led to the initial migration out of Africa. The
discovery of fire and warm animal skin clothing enabled people to live in colder climates which
increased migration. In conclusion, the need for resources and discoveries such as fire and warm
clothing, led to global migration. Agricultural societies first emerged in the Middle East, India, north
Africa, and Europe. They gained popularity after present day countries like Turkey, Iraq, and Israel
developed farming. The surplus of grains ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A political institution that emerged during this time was writing. Cuneiform, which was used in the
Middle East, enabled civilizations to organize more complex political structures by sending and

they were able to communicate with more ease on paper and in person. An economic institution that
emerged was taxes due to the increased literacy rate and advanced record keeping process. A religious
institution that emerged was people s dedication to their religion and in turn to the creation of places
of worship like ziggurats and godlike leaders. In conclusion, many political, religious, economic, and

Extreme Sorrow In Romeo And Juliet
As Romeo thinks that he is successful, he makes a gratifying amount of horrible decisions, in which
are turned into life lessons. A tragedy is a story in which the main characters suffer from extreme
sorrow. Nevertheless, when Romeo makes one terrible move on his community and family, each
person would react differently like killing themselves. In the meantime, Romeo suffers through
extreme sorrow from tragic flaws, moral weaknesses, and has the inability to cope with unfavorable
circumstances. To begin with, Romeo has a tendency to become impatient when he is waiting for
someone or something. For instance, Benvolio, who is telling his speech says, And, as he fell, did
Romeo turn and fly (3.1.136). Since Romeo kills Tybalt in front of a couple of people, he cannot wait
for the serving men to come, so he ran away as rapid as he could. Also, Romeo says to Juliet, And
trust me love, in my eye so do you./Dry sorrow drinks our blood. Adieu, Adieu! (3.5.57 58). Romeo is
trying to secretly become impatient when he tries to leave the Juliet s bedroom, due to Lady Capulet
coming. As Romeo is getting impatient, he does not notice anything that he did wrong. ... Show more

In this case, Romeo soothed, O true apothecary!/Thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die (5.3.131).
The moment when Romeo makes that decision, he is going to notice that other individual s reactions
will not be too virtuous like Juliet killing herself. As a result, Lord Montague sobbed, Alas, my liege,
my wife is dead to night!/Grick of my sons exile hath stopp d her breath (5.3.225 226). In other words,
Lady Montague basically kills herself from stress of Romeo being killed. All of these examples prove
that Romeo s decisions are not the

The Concept Of Emotional Branding
The concept of emotional branding refers to the relationship and connection people have with certain
brands. Built through strategic marketing and communications, brands have been able to develop
campaigns that shape attitudes of its audiences that drive decision making and behaviour. The concept
stems from the realization that many customers do not, in fact, make buying decisions through a
purely rational approach, focusing solely on the financials, and attributes of products, but rather, these
decisions are influences in large part by their emotions. While many purchasing decisions are certainly
influenced by the subconscious emotions of the consumer, emotional branding can also determine the
strength and length of a customer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, Volvo has historically focused its campaigns around it s superior safety features, but
with the advancement of technology in recent years, Volvo has been losing its position as a leader for
safe vehicles and its market share as a result. This is a great example of what could happen to an
automotive firm that focuses solely on the attributes of its vehicles and ignoring the potential of
emotional branding. There is little doubt that Volvo could have leveraged its position as a leader in
safety to develop strong emotional marketing communications and messaging, but it has failed to do
so, forcing the brand to rethink the way it positions itself relative to its competition.
Conversely, German automaker, BMW, has been successful at capturing the hearts and minds of
consumers through its Ultimate Driving Machine campaign which feature its vehicles driving through
opulent scenery with a focus on posh and luxurious interiors, suggesting that their cars are the ultimate
status of success and that working hard deserves to be rewarded with the best. Moreover, BMW s
commitment to post purchase service and customer experience (BMW offers owners Driver Training
where they can drive their cars around a closed track at ungodly speeds) has had significant returns,
with the brand experiencing the highest rates of repurchase of any luxury car brand. Similarly, VW s
Das Auto and Drivers Wanted campaigns, were wildly successful at attracting

The Antimicrobial And Antioxidant Activities
Medicinal plants are used traditionally in the treatment of various kinds of diseases since time
immemorial. The present study was carried out to evaluate the antimicrobial and antioxidant activities
of leaves from Elephantopus scaber by using different solvents (ethyl alcohol, acetone and aqueous).
The ethyl alcohol, acetone and aqueous extracts of leaves were subjected to phytochemical analyses,
which revealed the presence of alkaloids, phenols, flavonoids, saponins, steroids, tannins, coumarins,
quinones and glycosides in most of the selected of leaves useing different solvents. Ethyl alcohol
,acetone and aqueous extracts of leaves were investigated for in vitro antimicrobial activity against
Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhis, Klebsiella pneumonia, Streptococcus pyogenes, Staphylococcus
aureus, and Candida Albican by well diffusion method by using a different concentrations (20, 40, 60,
80, 100)mg/ml. Ethyl alcohol and acetone extract of leaves showed promising antimicrobial activity
against all test organisms. Ethyl alcohol of leaves has the best activity against all test organisms.
Found a high effective for ethyl alcohol extract of leaves compared with the other parameters, also it
was recorded a high increase for ethyl alcohol of leaves compared with the acetone extract of leaves
for a concentrations of (100, 20)mg/ml. The aqueous extract of the leaves has a weak activity against

1) Thank you for contacting me with your questions regarding the incoming Norwegian female skier.
The female skier may receive that skis from the manufacture and expenses from the Norwegian

The Importance Of Firing Firearms
The Second Amendment gives American citizens the right to keep and bear arms. Many people own
firearms, whether it is a handgun, rifle, or shotgun, but not everyone knows how they function. The
process is a bit more complex than to pull a trigger, some magic happens, and the projectile
accelerates out of the barrel of the firearm. Every person who owns a firearm should be educated on
the physics of how a firearm functions. Once you are confident with your shot on a target, pull the
trigger. The specific mechanics from the trigger to the hammer or firing pin are different because it
depends on the type of firearm and the company the manufactures it. However, pulling the trigger will
produce the same end result for all firearms. The trigger will release the hammer or firing pin, which

The cartridge is the ammunition that is placed into the chamber of the firearm. Each firearm is
designed to fire a certain caliber cartridge. Each caliber ensures a tight fit in the chamber of its
assigned firearm, which will not allow any gases to escape once fired. Firing the wrong caliber
cartridge could result in a gun jam, or you could destroy the firearm. Bullet cartridges are a
combination of a projectile (bullet), a propellant (gunpowder), and a primer (explosive cap), all
contained in a metal casing. The spark ignites the gunpowder. Most people believe that it is the
explosion that propels the projectile; however, this theory is false. When the powder ignites, it releases
gases that expand and push on the projectile. Sir Isaac Newton s third law of motion, which implies
that for every action, there is an equal but opposite reaction. As the expanding gases exert force on the
projectile, it is forced into the barrel of the firearm. The recoil of the firearm is the equal but opposite
force created by the gases forcing the projectile to accelerate out the

What Is Crane s View Of Nature
The diction of The Open Boat arguably demonstrates Crane s view of nature as all three: subjective,
wicked, and existing as a separate entity. This story clearly represents the struggle of conflict between
man and nature. The crewman s dire circumstances place them in a position against nature that
provides ample opportunity for them to feel slighted. However, though man may rage against nature
when confronted by it; nature does not concern itself with the whims of man. For example, Crane
states, When it occurs to a man that nature does not regard him as important, and that she feels she
would not maim the universe by disposing of him... (Crane 21). The author outlines the stark contrast
between the thoughts of man and those of nature. Additionally, ... Show more content on

The use of repetition implores the reader to share concern and empathy with the ravaged crewmen. As
one of them contemplate death he curses the wickedness of nature, If I am going to be drowned, why,
in the name of the seven mad gods who rules the sea, was I allowed to come thus far and contemplate
sand and trees (Crane 11)? Ultimately, I argue that Crane believes nature to be a separate entity
entirely that is neither subjective nor wicked but rather exists. However, he does change his
perspective when he writes from the angle of man. In this, he shows that nature is in fact personified
by humans and given a personality of its own. Crane consistently uses personification when describing
nature to attest to this and demonstrates how far interwoven man is with nature. For example, the
author states, The third wave moved forward, huge, furious, implacable. It fairly swallowed the
dingey... (Crane 21). This represents just a fraction of the personification Crane exemplifies in his
nature writing. The use of this literary device snares the reader s attention and transforms the sea into a
character with thoughts, feelings, and

Overview of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, otherwise known
as ADHD, is a very common brain disorder that is predominantly found in children but can continue
through adulthood (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 2012). It prevents individuals
from focusing their attention, and individuals often have trouble with their conduct due as well
(hyperactivityto hyperactivity or , impulsivity). Brain imaging studies have revealed that the brain
matures normally in youth with ADHD, but it is delayed an average of 3 years. The delay is most
profound in the brain region involving planning, thinking, and paying attention. More recent studies
have found that the outer layer of the brain showed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These treatment guidelines are helpful for clinicians to determine which treatments parents are likely
to initiate for their children (Robert, 2013). The primary care physician should initiate an evaluation
for ADHD for any child 4 through 18 years of age, who presents with academic or behavioral
problems and symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity. To make a diagnosis of ADHD,
the primary care clinician should establish that the DSM 5 criteria have been met; information should
be obtained from reports from parents, teachers, and other school or mental health clinicians involved
in the caretaking of the child (Robert, 2013). During the evaluation for ADHD, the primary care
doctor should include assessment for other co existing conditions, including emotional,
developmental, behavioral, and physical problems. The primary care physician should inform the
parents or guardian that ADHD is a chronic condition because it does not typically go away. If a child
is diagnosed with ADHD, they will more than likely experience it in adulthood as well. However, it is
possible for children to out grow some of the behaviors. As children mature, symptoms usually
become less prominent. By late childhood and early adolescence, signs of excessive activity are less
common, and hyperactivity symptoms may be confined to jitteriness or an inner feeling of restlessness

Textual Analysis Of Music
I find the process of thinking of something on a conceptual level and turning it into a conceivable
object really intriguing. It requires excellent communication not only with people but also within one s
self; I think this is also the hardest part making something new and different creating. It requires
finding an inspiration and then creating something that other people can understand and relate to
because they have either experienced what the art piece represents or because they have thought of the
same concept. I found it interesting how the four students interpreted the same piece of music
differently and how drastically different their representation of their concepts were. For example,
while one took a political stance, the other took a more philosophical view of good vs. evil. I think this
shows their personality and their thinking style and how they interact with the world. ... Show more

I wouldn t be surprised if Crumb himself had asked himself the same question when composing the
piece and designing the musical philosophy behind the piece.
I think they all formed excellent connections with the philosophical inquires of the music they

girls used silver to show the metallic, unorganized, and sharp aspects of the music. I didn t make this
connection before seeing it but once I saw how she used it, the artistic connection and representation
was clear to me too. It is this part of art I find most intriguing a form of communication of ideas

Technology And Digital Storage Space
For years, traffic cameras have been a mainstay of public roads and highways without engendering
significant public concern. As long as the most significant fear was a speeding ticket in the low three
figures, the technology of mounting a moving or stationary camera with the ability to detect and
capture automobile license plates was allowed to live in peace. Since the year 2000, however, and in
part due to the falling costs of the technology and digital storage space , the United States has seen a
drastic increase in the numbers of the traffic camera s mechanically similar cousin, the Automated
License Plate Reader ( ALPR ). An ALPR system is simply the coupling of a normal high speed traffic
camera and software to store, analyze and crosscheck the data gathered with external databases. A
2011 survey by PERF found that 71% of responding agencies reporting using ALPR, and 85% plan to
either begin or expand usage over the next five years. (IACP but find primary source). The key
difference between the two is how the data is stored and used. ALPR technology is most efficient
when data from several millions of these cameras is retained and aggregated into massive databases
that can then be queried on demand by law enforcement personnel and matched against lists of
vehicles of interest, colloquially called hot lists . This approach offers innumerable advantages over
the contemporaneous point and check approach of traditional traffic cameras, which most often delete

How Audiences Perceive Strong Female Characters,...
To test how audiences perceive strong female characters, Oppenheimer, Goodman, Adams‐Price,
Codling, and Coker (2003) ran a study where they had participants rate strong female characters on a
feminine to masculine scale, as well as attractiveness, sex appeal, relatability not a word, and humor
on a 7 point scale. The aim was to see how participants would respond to a female voice, if an
assertive actress would be characterized as masculine, and in general how female characters are
perceived by viewers. What they found was that women found the female characters to be slightly
stronger than men did, that the actresses were seen as slightly feminine do you mean they were found
to be slightly above the mean for femininity? Not sure what slightly feminine means, and that
attractiveness, sex appeal, and humor had no real impact on the perception of power. Also provide
more detail here were there weaker female characters that were also rated? Or those perceived as less
attractive? Knowing that women and men both consume and internalize representations and
stereotypes portrayed in media, it is important to then look at how women are being depicted and what
some causes behind this shift could be. Lauzen and Dozier (2005) investigated if popular films
continue to carry out the idea too vague use more precise language that men are powerful and
successful and women are submissive and not as successful by looking at an analysis of the top 88
domestic grossing films of 2002.

This means that in the second quarter of each year Cabela s sell its inventory at a slower rate than the
rest of the quarters. The Day s Held ratio calculates how long it takes a company turn inventory into
sales. Cabela s sells mostly goods that are non perishable, meaning that their goods can last in their
shelves much longer. For Cabela s there is a continuous pattern showing their days held in inventory
ratio being much lower in the 4th quarter of each year. This may be due to consumers purchasing gifts
for the holiday season.
Dick s Sporting Goods
Dick s Sportings goods saw relative increases in both their inventory and COGS over the period. Their
inventory percentage change/overall sales change for the period, and their COGS percentage
change/overall sales change for the period experienced very similar fluctuations across the period.
Both ratios saw a sharp decline from 2006 2007, indicating the time of the recession. The inventory %
change ratio even dropped to 2.3%. Since 2008, both ratios have seen minor increases and decreases.
Dick s sporting goods inventory turnover ratio increased by an overall percent of 8.82%. This means
that the company is 8.82% better (quicker) at selling its inventory after they have purchased it. They

Ethical Dilemma of Hiv Disclosure in Intimate Relationships
HIV Prevention with Positives in Thailand: Ethical Dilemma of HIV Status Disclosure in intimate
relationship.
Abstract
Every year, there are about ten thousand new HIV infection cases in Thailand. The majority of new
HIV transmissions in Thailand have changed from commercial sex to intimate relationships while HIV
prevention generally focuses on self protection and universal precaution. In 2003, Center for Disease
Control and Prevention recommend to integrate HIV preventive measure into routine HIV care.
According to a survey of People Living with HIV and AIDS (PLWHA) in Thailand, 45% of HIV
infections came from transmission between spouses and 10% believed that their partners knew their
HIV status before having a relationship. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of these preventive measures aim at self protection of the general HIV negative population and
vulnerable groups. HIV positive people have not been included in prevention strategies and messages.
Fear of further stigmatization exclude concept of responsibility for health of sexual partner as an
alternative strategy and prevention program. (Bayer 1996) However research has shown that after
most PLWHA learn their HIV status they reduce their unprotected sex, though some still engage in
unsafe sex.(Janssen, Holtgrave, Valdiserri et al. 2001; Marks, Richardson, Crepaz et al. 2002) In 2003,
the Centers for Disease Control recommended the Prevention with Positives strategy to promote
sexual health among PLWHA attending HIV/AIDS clinic and to help reduce onward HIV
transmission.(Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 2003) Positive prevention was
recommended by UNAIDS (the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS); it has been
implemented in industrialized countries, and should be a priority in high prevalence regions.(Bunnell
R, J. and K 2006)
Advance in medical treatment, especially antiretroviral treatment have improved quality of life and
prolongs survival. Antiretroviral treatment also reduces the probability of HIV transmission by
reducing virus to undetectable level. (Vernazzaa, Hirschelb, Bernasconic et al. 2008)

Tony Kushner s Angels Of America
Tony Kushner s Angels in America and Mwaganu wa Kaggia s Not Ashamed but so Ashamed both
explicitly address the social, religious, and political stigma associated with HIV/AIDS and
homosexuality. The use of split scenes in Angels in America allows Kushner to demonstrate the
similar ways in which both Joe and Prior respond to alienation despite having distinct personal
conflicts. The two characters societal and personal dilemmas are most evidently intertwined in Act 2,
Scene 9 of the play. In a similar manner, by using repetition of the phrases I m HIV positive and I am
so ashamed , Kaggia s poem confronts the ironic notion that it is not the nature of illness that causes
suffering; rather it is the persistent stigmatization of HIV/AIDS that continuously impedes any attempt
to end this epidemic. The dramatic techniques shown in both texts are strategically used by the authors
to emphasize the influences that social, religious, and political stigmatization have on individuals with
HIV/AIDS and those openly disclosing their homosexuality.
Compared to other split scenes in Angels in America , Act 2, Scene 9 is furiously explosive as both Joe
and Prior simultaneously confront their partners with their personal dilemmas. During Joe s encounter
with Harper, he struggles to identify himself as a homosexual. Joe reveals lack of confidence in his
self identity when he says to Harper: You want the truth. This is the truth. I knew this when I married

The Three Huge Questions Leading Into Week 10 Against...
THREE HUGE QUESTIONS LEADING INTO WEEK 10 AGAINST THE BUCCANEERS
1. Will Matt Cassel finally figure out to deliver and take home a W? OK, so he hasn t been horrific
since he took over for a struggling Brandon Weeden, who took over for an injured Tony Romo. (the
fact that, there are this many quarterbacks in the talks for the Cowboys this season is beyond
heartbreaking) Anyway, Cassel has shown some life and even made some impressive plays on the
field. However, we are still sitting in at 2 6 and dead last in already abysmal division. Other than a 30
6 loss to the New England Patriots the Cowboys have been in every game until the last quarter, most
of those games pushing into the final seconds and two of them even into overtime. Sounds accurate
right Cowboy s fans? If the Cowboys lose its always in a heart stopping, gut wrenching fashion.
Nonetheless, should all of these losses lay at the feet of our man under center? Of course not, but on

People make Choices Introduction:
From 1941 to 1945, The Holocaust took place in many countries, and millions of people died. Adolf
Hitler came to power in 1933 in Germany, and had an Aryan Race which was the Nazi s idea of a
master race. They thought that people with blonde hair and blue eyes were perfect. Adolf Hitler
developed a plan called the Final Solution, which was to kill mostly Jewish people, but also anyone
who did not fit his standards. Hitler rounded up all of the people he disliked, and he placed them in
concentration camps and death camps. In these awful places, these prisoners got tortured not only
physically, but also mentally. In France, many Jews were being deported to Germany, however; there
was so many, that they had to stay in concentration camps in France. The survival rate in France was
higher than any country in Europe during the Holocaust. Two very similar people who made very
different choices were in France during the Holocaust. A priest named Andre Trocme made a good
choice to save many Jews, and a SS officer named Klaus Barbie made a bad choice to kill thousands
of Jews ( The Holocaust ).
1st body paragraph: Andre Trocme was born on April 7, 1901 in northern France. When he was a
child, he spoke his mind, and did whatever he felt like he needed to do, which led him to be an
objector during World War 1. He attended seminary school in Paris as he was growing up, and then

Definitions Paper
What are creativity, innovation, and design, and how are these concepts important to meeting the
objectives of an organization? To understand these concepts they must first be defined. Webster s
dictionary (http://www.merriam webster.com) defines creativity as the Ability to produce something
new through imaginative skill, whether a new solution to a problem, a new method or device, or a new
artistic objects or form. The term generally refers to a richness of ideas and originality of thinking.
Psychological studies of highly creative people have shown that many have a strong interest in
apparent disorder, contradiction, and imbalance, which seem to be perceived as challenges. Such
individuals may possess an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
New sciences have also contributed to technology, as in the theoretical preparation for the invention of
the steam engine. In the 20th century, innovations in semiconductor technology increased the
performance and decreased the cost of electronic materials and devices by a factor of a million, an
achievement unparalleled in the history of any technology.
I would define innovation as the ability to apply this creative thinking to an existing product, solution
or approach that improves the outcome of a solution to a problem or usefulness of a product.
Innovation is the ability to put creative thoughts to use in a way that is beneficial to a person, product,
object, problem or situation. .
Design is defined by Webster as to create, fashion, execute, or construct according to plan; to conceive
and plan out in the mind; to have as a purpose; to devise for a specific function or end; to conceive or
execute a plan; or to draw, lay out, or prepare a design.
I would define design as taking these creative thoughts and ideas, or applying an innovative concept,
and putting them into a plan of action. Design is the point at which creativity and innovation become a
useful part of a solution. It is the ability to take creative thoughts and manifest them into a tangible
object or cohesive solution, and incorporate that into a plan of action to solve a particular problem or
take a product to market,

The Mood Of My Papa s Waltz By Theodore Roethke
Theodore Roethke s poem, My Papa s Waltz , is subject to the interpretation of the reader. One may
choose to see waltz as a recollection of a beautiful moment in time. Another interpretation has a much
darker tone as one could choose to see the violence within the movement of the waltz and not the
beauty for which it is known. Thus, one may interpret the poem as a fond memory of a father as told
by his son, the author. However, the poem could also be viewed as a revelation of a complicated
relationship between a father and a son. With that said, the first set of lines The whiskey on your
breath / Could make a small boy dizzy (lines 1 2) reveal the fact that his father may have been an
alcoholic or was at least drunk during the waltz. The fact that the author chose to blend something as
elegant as a waltz with something so violent as an intoxicated individual is indicative of the author s
clever use of words. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the line You beat time on my head (13) the beat has a musical denotation of the father tapping the
rhythm of the waltz on the son s head. On the other hand, an abusive connotation is present as well
with a possibility of the father inflicting blows upon his son s head. Roethke proceeds to continue his
trend of ambiguity in the final lines of the poem which state Then waltzed me off to bed / Still
clinging to your shirt. In this the reader can still find the positive and negative interpretations
coexisting within the lines. In a positive sense the reader can view these lines as showing the love that
the speaker has for his father, but in a negative sense the reader can view these lines as showing the
speaker literally clinging on to the shirt while begging for the abuse to stop. Even though dark
meanings were woven into the lines of each stanza it wasn t able to overcome the overall lighthearted
and buoyant vibe of the poem as a

Discuss the main theme advanced in this class. Use examples.
One of the main themes advanced in the class is the emergence of cities as global leaders, which we
have also referred to as the rise of cities. Cities are becoming globally competitive and playing a larger
role in international relations. Cities are also becoming leaders and finding solutions to problems such
as poverty and climate change that nations have either been reluctant to tackle or have failed to make
progress on. Atwell provides a few examples of cities participating directly with other nations or
global cities in international relations. One of these examples is the City of Chicago working with the

The United States, through the use of the UN, used it s money and influence to achieve its personal
agenda for how it saw that the world should attain peace and development. In short, President Truman
was combating the influence of the USSR by attempting to help countries develop and attain
economic prosperity in order to stop and deter the spread of communism. The Four Point Program was
introduced by President Truman to spread democracy and peace. The plan advocated for using
Western advances in technology and sciences to help lift developing nations. The UN and developed
nations also believed that the best way to help the global South develop was through the use of
development theory, as long as it happened on terms that were compatible with Western values and
interests. Development theory was seen as a series of ideas and practices such as market liberalism,
democracy, the use of social sciences and technology to help underdeveloped countries. These ideas
would later go on to be enhanced and advocated by American Walt Rostow in his book The Stages of
Economic Growth: A Non Communist Manifesto. He believed that expert led development could
promote democracy and if done right, could be more appealing than marxist ideas to young people in
developing nations. Development was seen as a global project intended to focus on individual nation
economies. To tackle these global issues, the

much time and money they spend gambling. Meanwhile, they ignored other responsibilities. For them,

The effects of gambling can be classified into individuals, family and the society. Each of them had

The unsteady of economic is one of the reason. Due to the bankruptcy of a personal will affected the
economic growth. In addition, during the time of economic success, casinos tend to take labour supply
away from neighbouring business. Casinos offer higher wages, hence many employees from other
business such as restaurant, saloon will leave the neighbouring business and work for casinos.
Customers that are normally went to the restaurant now instead go to the casino for foods. This
demonstrates how not all growth by a casino can be attributed as economic growth, sometimes casinos
merely transfer growth from other businesses into their own.
It would never dawn on them that the casino itself would never pay out more than it brings in. There

Science Fair Project Hypothesis
Introduction
The purpose of my science fair project is to see if plants can survive in a miniature greenhouse
setting.I did this project by planting cilantro in two mason jars, and putting a lid on one and not
putting a lid on the other. I became interested in this experiment when I grew a flower in a smart water
bottle with a closed lid. The information gained from this experiment will help others by know which
types of plants grow better in closed bottles, jars, pots. The problem is to find out what effect does/do
closed jars have on plant growth? How does/do water and humidity and sunlight determine a plant s
health and how much it will grow? What amount of water and sunlight is optimal for plant health and
growth? How do different types of potting soil affect a plant s growth? These questions have guided
me through my project and helped me find out the pieces of information to solve these problems. This
project took me two to three weeks long, and the progress was so slow that I had limited write in my
Science Fair notebook to once a week.

The reason I am interested in this research is this can help me when I grow my own plants, and that it
can help people growing plants that have to be grown in humid climates or have to be grown in small
areas. Plants are incredibly hard to grow and this project will help people in the future. I have made a
hypothesis about this before, and I didn t have the right info to prove it before, but with this project, I
can get the information. Another reason I am interested in this project is that I wanted to see if parsley
or cilantro would grow better in these conditions.
I hope to achieve results that prove growing plants with closed jars makes them grow better than
opened jars.

Bilingual Education And Multiculturalism
First, it is important to identify two main types of bilingual education; transitional and maintenance.
Transitional means the primary focus is on learning the dominant language, while drifting apart from
the minority language. On the other hand, maintenance deals with maintaining and developing the L1
while also trying to learn the dominant language (Hidden Curriculum, 2014). The main focus of
maintenance is to help the child maintain their cultural identity while also trying to help them learn the
minority language while living in a society that is prevalent in that specific language (Hidden
Curriculum, 2014). Now that we have had the chance to talk about bilingual education and talk about
two important aspects of bilingual education ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This case led to the next crucial case in 1982, which was the Plyer v. Doe. The Supreme Court ruled
that undocumented children cannot be denied access to education solely on the basis of their
immigration status (Noel, 2008). The U. S. Supreme Court felt as though children who were not able
to receive education and who were denied the right to education would be drastically harmed
throughout their lifetime which is why this case was passed. Many of these undocumented citizens
came from Mexico, primarily from Texas and California. The two cases set the stage for immigration
into the United States. Prior to these two cases, many people were turned away because they knew
little to know English and were seen useless in the United States. This goes against multiculturalism
because these minority groups were not treated with the same respect and were viewed as inferior to
the dominant culture which was English. Now that we have some background history on the
immigration and refugee status it is important to talk about the political trends against bilingual
education and multiculturalism that exist today. The first topic that will be introduced is the DREAM
Act (Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act). The Dream Act allows current,
former and future undocumented high school graduates and GED recipients a three step pathway to
US citizenship through college, work or the armed forces (The Dream Act, n.d.). One important aspect

Special Considerations for Branch Office Deployments
Microsoft has identified a number of special considerations for deploying Active Directory in branch
office environments. The characteristics of a branch office environment include:
• A large number of physical locations that need to contain replicas of Active Directory data. • A
small number of users per location. • A hub and spoke network topology where many branch offices
rely on connectivity to a centralized hub site for communications to other parts of the organization. •
Slow network connectivity between the branch office locations and the hub site.
Because of the ramifications of these requirements, Microsoft has developed additional content
focused on deploying Active Directory in branch office environments. The Active Directory Branch

Jon Krakauer s Into Thin Air
The particular descent ahead of those on the hill on May 10, 1996, resulted in the greatest loss of life
in the history of mountaineering on Everest. As news spread of the nine deaths (including that of Hall,
who spoke to his wife in New Zealand by radiophone as he lay stranded in a snowstorm on the summit
ridge), a barrage of questions resounded: What went wrong? Why was the approaching storm ignored?
And, most emphatically, why are tourists with more money than expertise being taken up Everest in
the first place?
Jon Krakauer was one of the survivors, and in Into Thin Air he relives the storm and its aftermath,
trying to answer those questions. As he sees it, essentially nothing went wrong, at least in terms of the
storm, which struck with little warning. Instead, the root of the problem lies in the famous explanation
George Mallory gave when asked why he wanted to climb the mountain, an explanation that still holds
true, albeit with a slight amendment. People climb Mount Everest because it and the money is there.

Built through strategic marketing and communications, brands have been able to develop campaigns that shape attitudes of its audiences that drive decision making and behaviour. The concept stems from the realization that many customers do not, in fact, make buying decisions through a purely rational approach, focusing solely on the financials, and attributes of products, but rather, these decisions are influences in large part by their emotions. There is little doubt that Volvo could have leveraged its position as a leader in safety to develop strong emotional marketing communications and messaging, but it has failed to do so, forcing the brand to rethink the way it positions itself relative to its competition. Many people own firearms, whether it is a handgun, rifle, or shotgun, but not everyone knows how they function. The process is a bit more complex than to pull a trigger, some magic happens, and the projectile accelerates out of the barrel of the firearm. Every person who owns a firearm should be educated on the physics of how a firearm functions. Once you are confident with your shot on a target, pull the trigger. This story clearly represents the struggle of conflict between man and nature. The crewman s dire circumstances place them in a position against nature that provides ample opportunity for them to feel slighted. However, though man may rage against nature when confronted by it; nature does not concern itself with the whims of man. For example, Crane states, When it occurs to a man that nature does not regard him as important, and that she feels she would not maim the universe by disposing of him... (Crane 21). Ultimately, I argue that Crane believes nature to be a separate entity entirely that is neither subjective nor wicked but rather exists. However, he does change his perspective when he writes from the angle of man. In this, he shows that nature is in fact personified by humans and given a personality of its own. Crane consistently uses personification when describing nature to attest to this and demonstrates how far interwoven man is with nature. For example, the author states, The third wave moved forward, huge, furious, implacable. It fairly swallowed the dingey... (Crane 21). Since the year 2000, however, and in part due to the falling costs of the technology and digital storage space , the United States has seen a drastic increase in the numbers of the traffic camera s mechanically similar cousin, the Automated License Plate Reader ( ALPR ). The use of split scenes in Angels in America allows Kushner to demonstrate the similar ways in which both Joe and Prior respond to alienation despite having distinct personal conflicts. The two characters societal and personal dilemmas are most evidently intertwined in Act 2, Scene 9 of the play. In a similar manner, by using repetition of the phrases I m HIV positive and I am so ashamed , Kaggia s poem confronts the ironic notion that it is not the nature of illness that causes suffering; rather it is the persistent stigmatization of HIV/AIDS that continuously impedes any attempt to end this epidemic. The dramatic techniques shown in both texts are strategically used by the authors to emphasize the influences that social, religious, and political stigmatization have on individuals with HIV/AIDS and those openly disclosing their homosexuality. One may choose to see waltz as a recollection of a beautiful moment in time. Another interpretation has a much darker tone as one could choose to see the violence within the movement of the waltz and not the beauty for which it is known. Thus, one may interpret the poem as a fond memory of a father as told by his son, the author. However, the poem could also be viewed as a revelation of a complicated relationship between a father and a son. With that said, the first set of lines The whiskey on your breath / Could make a small boy dizzy (lines 1 2) reveal the fact that his father may have been an alcoholic or was at least drunk during the waltz. The UN and developed nations also believed that the best way to help the global South develop was through the use of development theory, as long as it happened on terms that were compatible with Western values and interests. Development theory was seen as a series of ideas and practices such as market liberalism, democracy, the use of social sciences and technology to help underdeveloped countries. These ideas would later go on to be enhanced and advocated by American Walt Rostow in his book The Stages of Economic Growth: A Non Communist Manifesto. Transitional means the primary focus is on learning the dominant language, while drifting apart from the minority language. This case led to the next crucial case in 1982, which was the Plyer v. Doe. The Supreme Court ruled that undocumented children cannot be denied access to education solely on the basis of their immigration status (Noel, 2008). The U. S. Supreme Court felt as though children who were not able to receive education and who were denied the right to education would be drastically harmed throughout their lifetime which is why this case was passed. Many of these undocumented citizens came from Mexico, primarily from Texas and California. The two cases set the stage for immigration into the United States. Prior to these two cases, many people were turned away because they knew little to know English and were seen useless in the United States. This goes against multiculturalism because these minority groups were not treated with the same respect and were viewed as inferior to the dominant culture which was English. Now that we have some background history on the immigration and refugee status it is important to talk about the political trends against bilingual education and multiculturalism that exist today.
