Shot reverse shot is a filming technique used when characters are conversing where the camera cuts between shots of each character, allowing the audience to associate that they are talking to each other, even if not fully in frame together. This technique provides an eyeline match between two characters and switches perspectives to film the conversation from both angles in an alternating pattern during editing.
