A preliminary task allows you to practise on different variety of shots before
filming your actual opening sequences.
Establishing Shot- It is generally a long- or extreme –long shot at the
beginning of a scene indicating where, and sometimes when, the
remainder of the scene takes place.

This is successful as the start of character 1 is established in a location.
Walking down the hallway.
Over the shoulder shot- Shooting a conversation over the shoulder allows
both characters to remain in the scene throughout

This was successful as this type of shot shows that the two characters are
having a discussion and will usually follow an establishing shot which helps
 the audience.
Reaction Shot- It is a shot which cuts away from the main scene in order
to show the reaction of a character to it.

This was successful as it encourages the audience to believe the
characters are in the same geographic space.
4. Long Shot

Long shot- shows the entire object or human figure and is
usually intended to place it in some relation to its surroundings

This was successful as it informed the audience of the character situations
relation both to one another and to their surrounding.
Match on action- is when you cut during an action to another camera
angle bur showing from the same point in time that you left in from
the previous shot.

This is successful as it shows the importance continuation of the
flow of the scene.
180° rule- is a basic guideline that states that two characters (or other
elements) in the same scene should always have the same left/right
relationship to each other.

This was successful as it helps to keep the actors facing the correct
direction. You don't want both coming across as if they are looking off to
nowhere.
Reverse Shot -where one character is shown looking at another character
(often off-screen), and then the other character is shown looking back at the
first character. Since the characters are shown facing in opposite directions,
the viewer assumes that they are looking at each other

This was successful as it have exploited to make improbable meanings
convincing
This video was very successful and so I would give them a level 4 since it used
good a variety of elements as it made me believe what situation they were in and
what was about to occur. It was very believable.

They had good use of shot such as:
-Match on action
-Establishing shots
-Over the shoulders shot
-Reverse Shot
-180 degree rule
This is unsuccessful as the first image doesn’t look believable that he was talking to
someone.
They should have improved this by making the second character be off-screen to
make it more convincing to the viewers that they were making contact.
This is unsuccessful as it doesn’t give away any interest of what's about to happen
when he opens the door. They should have focused more on the guy by seeing him
opening the door and showing the other side of him entering to give it a much better
shot.
This unsuccessful as it doesn’t establish the character where she is. We know that she
corridor because of the board on the side. But they should have used an establishing sh
location of where she is and where is going to go next.
This was unsuccessful as it doesn’t properly state that they are making contact
with one another when discussing a situation. They should have used a over the
shoulder shot to make there scene more effective by using this shot.
This video was unsuccessful and so I would give them a level 2 since they didn't
have good variety of different shots.

They should have included the following shot:
-Establishing shot to show what location they are at
-Over the shoulder shot
-Match on action
-Reverse Shot
How have this helped me?
 This has helped me by making sure I use different
variety of shots in my preliminary task so people can
understand the importance of the shot. Also when I
do my preliminary draft I have an idea of what shots
I’m going to use and how to apply them usefully to
my task. This helped me by making sure that my first
draft would be a good one since I have research on
what is good and bad preliminary task.
