Q5: Hitler wanted to get rid of the Jews in Germany in order to build a perfect society for him
and he has this long hatred through the Jews since World War I. Even in his book Mein Kampf,
one of his three key points of his book was to get a final solution to the Jewish problem. Hitler
wrote Mein Kampf when he was in jail. The three key points of his book, a Mein Kampf was to
get revenge on France, give Germany more living space, and the final solution for Jews which all
three of his key points happened. For example, giving Germany living s peace happened when
Hitler got Poland. In order for Hitler to get Poland was to make a pact with Russia. This pact was

3. Ruth s Role In The Bible
The word Torah can be a difficult word to understand because in various contexts it can refer to
different things. As discussed in Revealing World Religions, the basic concept of the Torah is
referring to the Five Books of Moses: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy.
This is where things are complex because the word Torah can also be used to refer to the entire
Jewish bible, or Tanakh which is another name for the Hebrew Bible. In Jewish tradition, the
Talmud is a collection writings containing civil and religious Jewish laws and traditions. As clearly
illustrated by The Talmud documentary, the traditional rabbinical approach to the Bible is quite
different from the one that I practice directly and ones I am aware of indirectly.

4. What Are The Disadvantages Of Lay People In The English...
Effectiveness of lay element
The effect of a lay person being part of the legal system is that it creates a positive reputation for
the court. This is because lay people are not chosen because of their qualifications; they are chosen
randomly to come up with a verdict for the defendant. Having lay people in the legal system enable
the court to have a wider variety of opinion given by the community. This scheme allows associates
of the community to become a lay person (magistrates/jury). There are many advantages as well as
disadvantages of using lay personnel in court. An example of an advantages of using a lay person
in the English legal system is that the legal system saves millions of pounds due to the fact that lay
personnel s do not receives salaries but expenses. Another advantage is that lay personnel are an

its advantages, but it also comes with disadvantages. A clear example of a disadvantage of using
both lay magistrates and jurors in the legal system is that racial, cultural, sexual bias has come in
the way and depending on the research, it has shown that this influences the verdict made in the
courtroom. They are not provided with maximum training and juries on the other hand do not get
any sort of training which can be lead to lay people being acknowledged as the second class justice.
Role of jury in criminal cases/problem

5. Comparing Marx s Views On Socioeconomic Status And The...
This paper is going to discuss the differences in classic theorist s views on socioeconomic status
and the level of education a person receives. To begin, let s say that the people who receive a
higher level of education tend to be higher in socioeconomic status and, therefore, the people who
do not receive a much educationtend to be lower in status. Structural functionalist would say that
the different levels of education are to keep society balanced. People with less education tend to
have mediocre or blue collar jobs, while people with a higher education have more noteworthy
jobs. As a society, we need both types of people in order for society to fully function. If everyone
was blessed with the opportunity to get the highest levels of education, it would offset the
equilibrium because no one would want to do the simple yet necessary jobs. If no one did those,
we would not have restaurants or clean public restrooms. The roads would be terrible because there
would be no construction workers to maintain them. Currently, the people with a higher education
depend on the less educated in order to have the standard of living that they have now. The less
educated people currently depend on the higher educated people to require their services, whether it

Marx would have said that because of the differing levels of education, the lower level workers
would feel pressured by the upper class to work the pedestrian jobs. However, Marx would have

that over time, the less educated would become dissatisfied with feeling inferior and would come

7. Contributions Of Florence Nightingale
Florence Nightingale pioneered nursing during the 19th and 20th centuries. She began her work by
improving sanitation in military hospitals and then established the standard form of nursing.
Florence Nightingale embodied the qualities of the Grad at Grad document through her strong work
ethic, promotion of justice, and her ability to gain trust that facilitated the development of
leadership.
On May 12, 1820, Florence Nightingale was born to William Edward and Frances Nightingale
who were wealthy landowners. As a result, Florence Nightingale lived a comfortable life and was
well educated, however, she was never content to only observe traditional women s roles but
preferred to have discussions about politics and social discourse with her father. When she was
sixteen, she reported experiencing a calling from God telling her to serve God by reducing human
suffering and Ms. Nightingale believed nursing was the answer to that. Her parents and family
believed that nursing was an inappropriate occupation for women of her social status. Despite her
family s negative views, Florence persisted in the pursuit of her goal and eventually enrolled as a
nursing student in the Institution of Protestant Deaconesses at Kaiserswerth, Germany for a two
week long training class. Through her family connections, Florence Nightingale secured a job
working as superintendent of the Institution for Sick Gentlewomen in London. As superintendent,

8. Definition Essay On UGA HERO
Hero (n.): a person of distinguished courage or ability, admired for their brave deeds and noble
qualities; someone who fights for a cause; a large sandwich made of a long crusty roll split
lengthwise and filled with meats and cheese
The definitions of a hero are endless ranging from dignified to downright tasty. Still, with all these
interpretations it makes me wonder. What defines a true hero? I found my answer when I joined
UGA HEROs.
When I stepped foot onto UGA s campus I knew I wanted to get involved. To me, trying out a
volunteer organization was an obvious start. It was safe. It was volunteering. No one could make
me do it or stay if I didn t want to and while I was at it I could rack up some good karma points. I
quickly learned that there was basically the big three (among several other awesomely worthy
organizations) when it came to volunteer organizations on campus Relay, Miracle, and HEROs.
HEROs stood out to me for three reasons:
1.They were the most in my face and consistently passionate at organization fairs.
2.I didn t really know much about HIV/AIDS so I thought it could be a good learning experience.
3.The name. I mean it just sounded cool (and not to mention red is definitely my color) ... Show

9. Mary Magdalene
In this paper I will share the life of Mary Magdalene, the faithful disciple she was to Jesus all the
way to the very end and how God wants us to model our lives in the same fashion. Mary
Magdalene s life as we know it begins in her native city of Magdala. Magdala is the Greek form of
mighdol or watchtower, probably named for the tower that guarded the city. (The Zondervan
Pictorial Encyclopedia of the Bible, 1975, p. 105) It is believed that Mary received her last name
Magdalene by designation. According to the Zondervan Handbook to the Bible (2009) this
designation means that she was unmarried, since married women were normally distinguished from
others of the same name by the name of their husband.

She could confirm that Jesus was truly dead. Mary and the other women prepared the spices
needed for the customary burial of Jesus body. Preparing the body for burial was a traditional task
done by the Jewish women. This is seen as a final and gentle service given to the body of their
loved ones.
IV. Mary Magdalene was witness to the Resurrection. Mark 16:1 11, Luke 24:1 11, Matthew 28:1
10, John 20:1 18
Mary found the stone rolled away and Jesus body was no longer there. She received a message
from an angel and was the first person to see the risen Jesus. Making her the first witness to the
resurrection! The excitement she must have felt when she realized she was speaking with her risen
Savior!
All four gospels mention Mary s presence with Jesus as being faithful to the end. Isn t this the type
of relationship God wants us to have with Him, faithful to the end? Mary gave up everything to
follow Jesus and to lead others in His ministry. She was committed to what she believed and she
was willing to risk everything to tell others about the Word of God. Shouldn t we as Christians be
like this as well? I m not saying that our road will be easy but we must stand firm in God s Word
because that is constant and never changes!
We will never have all the answers until the day God returns so we need just have faith in God
and His plan. With Mary Magdalene there are so many

11. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Globalization
The term globalization refers to the increasing interconnection of all parts of the world relating
to political, economic, and cultural aspects. One example of this is where clothing companies
decide to outsource some of their manufacturing to countries like China or Vietnam for lower
labor cost. Another example of globalization would be that car parts are manufactured overseas
in places like Japan,Germany, or Korea and assembled in America. A third example of
globalization is the Silk Road, which carried goods as well as ideas and culture all across India
and parts of Asia. All of these examples show different ways in which goods or ideas spread all
internationally and all over the world. Arguably, without globalization, the world wouldn t be as
diverse and advanced as it is today. Globalization has many aspects but three important ones are
how technology contributed to it, the benefits of globalization, as well as the disadvantages of
globalization. One of the first topics regarding globalization is how technology has contributed to
it. Throughout history, technology has played an integral role in the diffusion of ideas or goods
over a wide area. However, recent history has shown advances in technology the likes of which the
world has never been before. Technology is arguably the driving force behind globalization. One of
these advances contributes to globalization has been technology that has made it easier to gain
information and through better telecommunication capabilities. One example of this technology is
the internet, which allows people to gain access to a global variety of information and resources.
Another example is telecommunications like calling, e mailing, instant messaging, and social
media, which all help people communicate despite massive distances. Both of these technological
advances contribute to globalization because it allows for ideas and information to be spread
throughout the world without it being physically transported. This allowed for different regions of
the world to interact and exchange ideas, philosophies, information, and goods There are many of
benefits of regions of the world becoming integrated with one another. One of these benefits that
relates to the economic aspect of

13. Budget and Budgetary Control Practices
CHAPTER I
1.1 INTRODUCTION
Budget and budgetary control practices are undeniably indispensable as organizations routinely go
about their business activities and operations. These organizations are constantly on the alert on
how actual levels of performance agree with planned or budgeted performance. A budgetexpresses
a plan in monetary terms. It is prepared and approved prior to a particular budgeted period and
explicitly may show the income, expenditure and the capital to be employed by organizations in
achieving their goals and objectives.
Budgeting control practices are then devices that organizations use to regulate their budgets. The
controls are mostly comprehensive systems of budgets that aid management in carrying out its ...

the discussion. Having 10 15 people and just one really broad question doesn t cut it. I feel like
there could have been either smaller groups or multiple questions within one group. Like 10

15. Role Of Natural Resources In The 1930s
Natural Resources in the 1930s Economic growth comes form the use of natural resources. In
the 1930 s, natural resources are what fueled the growth of the U.S. economy. The use of
resources such as water, timber, coal, oil, and minerals were in very high demand. Even now
there is still a market for these resources. The use of natural resources was very high in the 1930 s
and the possible damage that the use of these resources was of little concern, or not even known at
the time. In the 1930sthe growth of the U.S. economy would become a burden due to the use of
natural resources, how the resources were collected and extracted, and the impact that harvesting
had on the environment. The main point of this article, is that the mass consumption and mass
production is not always ideal. First, let s start by first introducing the topics which are introduced
and their use. The first thing Theilmann covers in each paragraph is the use of natural resources.
Again, he mainly concentrates on the U.S. during the thirties. He starts by stating the importance of
each resource. He first starts talking about agriculture, water, and timber use and their importance
during that time. He starts this topic with a brief, but notable topic sentence. He says, Agricultural
and timber production had long been important American industries. By the 1930 s, farmers had
increased production of both food crops and market crops, most notably cotton (Theilmann). He
then starts talking about over

important evidence in the world of criminal justice. Throughout the history of violent and fatal
crimes, bloodstain evidence has recently begun to emerge as a recognized forensic skill. Blood is
one of the most significant and frequently encountered types of physical evidence associated with
forensic investigation of death and violent crime (Eckert amp; James, 11). When a violent crime
has been committed, bloodis commonly left behind at the scene of the crime. This blood evidence

After spraying luminol, in a darkened room, the luminol will react with the iron in the hemoglobin
of the blood which catalyzes the luminescence. This reaction causes the emission of a blue glow
lasting for approximately 30 seconds. Although luminol is useful in detecting small traces of blood,
there are some disadvantages to using it. One disadvantage is the sensitivity of the solution and the
blood itself. 75 years ago, luminol was introduced to the forensic field as a blood search technique.
Since its introduction, much investigation has been done to enhance the solution in order to get a
longer and more intense/brighter luminescence reaction with the blood. Besides the importance of
the pH level of the solution, most of these investigations came to the conclusion that adding more
chemicals and/or solution enhances the brightness and duration of the reaction. However, this
process also potentially damages the DNA and bloodstain pattern itself. Up till now, hardly any
investigation has been done into the enhancement of the catalyst in this reaction process: the blood
(haemoglobin) itself (Eversdijk, 12). The chemiluminescence of luminol can occasionally be
activated by compounds containing copper, bleaching chemicals, animal blood, fecal matter,
semen, and even saliva. To determine if a substance is blood, forensic investigators can perform
other tests. The Kastle Meyer test is another

elements such as Archetypes, Allusions, and the conflict of man vs society in which help highlight
the novel.
John the savage, the protagonist from Bernard is introduced near the mid point of the novel. He
is categorized between two specific archetypes, which are the seeker and the outsider. Being born
into this society he is never given a chance to escape from reservation. When talking about the

DBQ Essay What Drove the Sugar Trade?
Beginning in the late 1600s and continuing through the 1700s the demand for sugar became
incredibly high due to its addictive qualities. To supply the consumers with sugar they were craving,
wealthy Europeans established sugar plantations throughout the Caribbean and built a thriving
slave industry, so their need for cheap labor could be satisfied. Sugar consumption increased from
4.6lbs to 16.2lbs per capita annually from 1700 to 1770 due to the increasing addiction of the
consumers. Since the demand was so high, the manufacturers were faced with maintaining a high
crop yield, but luckily the Caribbean islands provided an ideal location for growing cane sugar.

Due to the efforts to colonize the Caribbean islands, by 1750 they were almost all owned by

requires a specific climate to grow plentifully (i.e. 68В° 90В°F) and this was something the
Caribbean islands provided the Europeans with; if European countries had not had taken control
in the Caribbean islands the sugar industry would not have survived (Doc 2). At this time, the
Caribbean islands were the only location that the Europeans had access to that provided the
correct climate. The landscape was ideal and led to a high crop yield and without it the
consumers would be at a loss (Doc 8). Through the 1700s and into the 1800s, in Barbados,
Jamaica, Saint Domingue, and Cuba, sugar production rates escalated, but this vast increase was
made possible only by the natural conditions of the Caribbean islands (Doc 10). Still, not only

An oft swept under the carpet Biblical story is that of the rape of Dinah and her brothers
subsequent murder of an entire city. Reminiscent of The Rolling Stone s Gimme Shelter, Chapter
34 of Genesis exemplifies sin in the Bible to the point where the story can be looked at many
ways and the blame can be placed on many different people. There is the rapist himself, Shechem,
there are the murderous sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi, who slaughter a defenseless city, and
there is the weakness of Jacob himself, willing to bargain his daughter away after her defilement. At
the height of all the the sin though, is the absence of Godin this story, who does not condemn nor
punish either the actions of Shechem or of Simeon and Levi. That is not to say God is absent from
the story though, in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While Simeon and Levi s actions may not be the hand of God directly, there is certainly the
influence of swift and just punishment over Dinah s rapists. It is not only a chivalrous
defending of Dinah s honor by her brothers, but a Biblical condemnation of rape culture by their
murders. God does not punish Simeon and Levi for their actions but rather lets them carry out
the punishment for Shechem and his sin, creating a clear image that Shechem s actions were
wrong. Simeon and Levi s action also bring up the wimpy actions, or lack thereof, of Jacob, who
is, without much argument, willing to give Dinah away as she is now spoiled goods. Their
insistence on defending their sister is a necessary extension of making this a modern parable
where the rape victim is not silenced but is given a voice of defense. Dinah s defilement is
validated and recognized and avenged, giving expression to her helplessness in the entire situation.
God, with his silence and allowing of this slaughter recognizes Dinah s plight, that the victim is
deserving of more than

24. The Debate On Gay Marriage
A recent Supreme Court decision ruling that homosexual couples were, by law, allowed to marry
sparked great debate when made public. Advocates for same love rejoiced, painting profile
pictures in the colors of the rainbow and crying out that reform was attainable. On the flip side,
opponents mourned the direction the nation was facing, firing back on social media with firm
viewpoints but little else. For its highly controversial standing, the debate on gay marriage brings to
light a question buried beneath the subject. How does the individual determine right from wrong? It
would seem that a person s moralityis predetermined, but has the ability to change when external
influences act upon it. When injustices arise, the person, based on his or her conscience, will step
in and take action to right the wrong.
A person s conscience points the way in his or her life, guiding where to go, what to do, and how
to speak. This conscience is a pre instilled set of morals that directs how an individual feels on a
certain subject and whether it is right or wrong. The Grapes of Wrath, written by John Steinbeck,
makes good note of this natural inclination, saying that people knew of the right to talk and to
listen (265). The migrant families knew automatically what was acceptable and what was
inappropriate. By nature, the migrants instinctively knew where to step and how to interact. In an
earlier chapter, good conscience is also exhibited when Mae, a waitress, sells candy to a few

Benvenuto Cellini
Benvenuto Cellini was born on November 3rd in the year 1500 in Florence, Italy. His father was
Giovanni Cellini and his mother was Marisa Lisabetta Granacci. The time period Cellini was
born is considered to be the beginning of the Cinquecento period of the arts in Italy. By the end
of Cellini s life he was successful in many aspects of cinquecento arts. This paper gives
highlights on Cellini s life as a whole including descriptive examples of his various art
works.(Cellini 128) The cinquecento period in which Cellini was born references the 16th
century as a period of Italian art, architecture, or literature, with a reversion to classical forms.
This is significant because it gives you greater understanding of some of the cultural influences
Cellini would have been subjected to in Italy as he grew up.(O Brien) Its possible that this
influence helped to lead him to be one of the prominent mannerist artist. Another culturally
significant factor of the time is that Cellini lived his life in the era of Italy being ruled by kings as
the Roman Empire had dissipated and been split into the Eastern and Western Empires. The
Western Empire fell in 476 when the barbarian chieftain Odoacer deposed Romulus Augustus and
didn t take the title of emperor.(O Brien) Cellini s father was a musician and wanted Cellini to

Dear Mr. Fielding,
I am writing to provide you with information in relation to the personal injury claim that you want
to bring against Shopping Village Limited Company. First of all, I will repeat the facts in order to
make sure of my knowledge of the incident. Then, as you have previously expressed your concern
about the payment of our firm s fees, I will set out your funding options and advise you with the
most suitable one. Lastly, I will explain the importance and the consequences of a Part 36 offer.

You also implied that all of these symptoms are making your work as an accountant more
difficult as you have to look at complicated figures for most of the time. Based on these facts
along with the information you have provided in the questionnaire, you decided to bring up a
personal injury claim for the recovery of these losses. You have specifically expressed your
concern about paying the fees of our firm. Therefore, I will now provide all the possible funding
methods related to your claim and identify the most suitable one.
Funding Methods:
There are numerous ways which you can use to fund your personal injury claim;
1)Conditional Fee Agreements (CFAs): A CFA is a legal funding arrangement in which you do
not have to pay for my basic charges as your solicitor if your claim is unsuccessful. In other
words, the fees are only payable if your case is won. In the event of a successful claim, you will
have to pay your own costs for the case and a success fee. Success fee will be calculated as a
percentage based on the costs paid by the defendant and this percentage will be decided prior to
the case. The success fee must be paid from the compensation that you have received. As this is a
personal injury claim, the maximum success fee deduction that can be made from your
compensation is 25%. On the other hand, if you lose the case, there will be no success fee
payments but you will be required to pay for your own disbursements as well as for the legal

28. Commodified Labor Power
Commodified labor power is sustained by personal reproductive and female reproductive labor.
Both of these forms of labor are lesser recognized because they don t directly produce
profit...unlike slavery. Slave labor is less recognized by consumers in today s economy because it
is the most extreme exploitation of a human s laborpower, and the commodification of humans
allows the consumer to delay thinking of where the labor came from, or ignore it altogether.
Individuals laboring as slaves give the most to capitalismwith virtually no return. Simultaneously,
an abusive industry grows and its investors profit and thrive from the capital surplus derived from
free labor. Slavery exists all around the world and affects everyone from the clothes they buy to the
food they eat. Although the the 13th Amendment to the U.S. constitution abolished slavery, it still
allows for it to be used as a punishment for crime (13th Amendment, 2016). Therefore, inside the
United States, any prisoner is subject to involuntary servitude and extreme exploitation for capital
gain.
Capital gain is reliant on exploitation by some means. Social division of labor is imperative to the
continuation of human labor exploitation. It coincides with consumers ignoring the condition of
labor behind a product. Even when the exploitation of labor is understood, it s perpetuated by every
class reliance on manufactured goods. Primitive accumulation, coined by Karl Marx, is a form of
exploitation that was critical to the switch from feudalism to capitalism it was the process in which
people were dispossessed of their personal means of production and forced into wage labor. In

For both uprisings then, it appears that criticisms streamed in from every direction to attack
mutinous Indians, rebellious Jamaicans, and/or those Britons who favoured the opposite side of the
controversies. Yet what these critics all had in common was how they asserted their own patriotism
and Britishness while questioning or simply denying their detractors these values. The different
factions thus created their own definitions of what being civilised, being a Briton and being a
faithful subject of the Empire meant. Accordingly, this work draws together the Mutiny and the
Rebellion, and uses them as a case study to trace and interpret one conception Punch s of

renewed by the Jamaica Rebellion, so that it became urgent to redefine what kind of social and

30. I Think About The Word Ethics
When I think about the word ethics the first thing that comes to mind is what is it, and what does
it mean to me? Ethics itself is how one conducts themselves in what they deem is an appropriate
manner. It is the basis of our moral decisions and makes us who we are as people and influences
our choices. There are different components in ethicsthat consist of, acting out of duty, good
intentions, consequences, utility or outcome of one s actions and striving to be a virtuous person.

Overcoming these vices and still maintaining a virtuous attitude shows true strength and virtuous
character. This, I also believe, stands out as one of the important aspects of virtue. Even when

picking the right choice because it is simply that, the right thing to do.
Augustine Aurelius, more commonly known by the name Saint Augustine, was quite astonishingly
one of the most important and influential thinkers in history as we know it. Although he had
extremely pessimistic views, his way of thinking towards contemporary political theory shaped his
following and ideas into what is known about him today. Many critics target Augustine s
pessimism, arguing that his fixation on sin and longing for the heavenly city deny the value of
this worldly politics. (Lamb, 2014) Born in Tagaste in 354, he was particularly exposed to varying
cultures and religion. Living in North Africa throughout his childhood, he saw and recognized the
coexistence of these cultures and religions around the time of Emperor Constantine. The edict of
religious tolerance took the forefront around 1313, and this inspired him to search for the truth. He
set out to reach this goal after examining and reading the works of Cicero. His exhortation to love
wisdom was what sparked the inspiration of Augustine to explore different doctrines that were
presented at the time of his life.

31. Why Do People Commit Crime
Longman dictionary defines crime as an offence that is punishable by law . As BBC Bitesize 2017
describes, doing something wrong is different than committing a crime. For example lying is not
considered as a crime but it is a wrong act that people carry out without getting punished. But why
do people commit crime? Some criminologists believe that people commit crime because it is in
their nature. It has been proved that some people are more likely to commit crime than others due
to the circumstances that they grow up under. According to BBC Bitesize people with anger issues
have a higher possibility of committing a crime. Generally poverty, low self esteem, drug and

Children in these families are at higher risk of committing crime than others. On 13/3/2012
government published Social Justice: Transforming lives which explained government s plans
for changing the lives of who have been struggling with poverty. The government has identified
120,000 families whose lives are chaotic and troubled. These families have caused 9 billion
pounds damage. This is not a huge amount money in contrast to the effects of poverty on
children s lives. Because children s lives get ruined due to poverty and no amount of money can
fix that. The program which the government aimed to perform suggested that vulnerable parents
that need support must be identified and helped from the early days of their children s lives.
Children have the right to grow up in a supporting and loving atmosphere. Social Justice tries to
help society function better. The government admits that over the last decades has ignored the
roots of causes of poverty and this resulted in deepening social problems (GOV.UK, 2013). There
are some examples that demonstrate these social problems. One of these examples is Barry.
Barry s father was a drug dependent and his mother was an alcoholic. She divorced Barry s father

32. The Role Of Yu s Myth In Ancient Chinese Culture
Besides the monarchy politics revealed by the story of Yu, the myth also shows what marriages
are like in the early ancient Chinese society. After Yu had toiled for thirty years he had reached
the age when, according to Confucian tradition, it was proper to take a wife. (p88 Christie,
Anthony) Yu met his wife by following a prophecy that lead to sovereignty. Yu s wife Nu chiao
turned into a stone when she is pregnant. After nine months of transformation a boy Chhi was
born. Unlike Chinese feudal tradition after Qin dynasty, a man as great as Yu only has one wife
and one child. It shows that monogamy is the dominant culture during Yu s time. When Yu was
looking for a wife, he approached the village of Thu Shan and saw a white fox with nine tails
appear. This symbolized that to marry the girl of Thu Shan means to obtain a flourishing lineage.

33. Compare Alvin Toffler
Sociocultural evolution is the idea that as humans evolve biologically we also evolve socially. This
evolution involves technology, religion, and culture. Many theories have arisen about how
sociocultural evolution works and how important it is to humankind. Three well known theories
have come from Gerhard Lenski, Leslie White, and Alvin Toffler. Their theories may be very
different, but they also share some similarities. Looking at these differences and similarities
between these three theories will give greater insight to the importance of sociocultural evolution.

Alvin Toffler quoted, To survive, to avert what we have termed future shock, the individual must
become infinitely more adaptable and capable than ever before . Everyone must search out totally
new ways to anchor ourselves, for all the old roots religion, nation, community, family, or profession
are now shaking under the hurricane impact of the accelerative thrust. It is no longer resources that
limit decisions; it is the decision that makes the resources. Alvin Toffler is best known for the idea
of future shock. He defined future shock as one s personal view that there is too much change in
too short a period of time. Alvin Toffler identified three stages in the development of society:
agrarian, industrial, and postindustrial. The first stage is when humans invented agriculture. The
second stage is when England brought the inventions of machine tools and the steam engine during
the Industrial Revolution. The last stage began during the second half of the 20th century, while
dealing with inventions of mechanical industry, robotics, and the computer (Fretwell 2015). Alvin
Toffler, therefore, knows that the assessment of innovation is outstanding and moves at a faster
pace than people see. Innovation has brought out a great deal of information that has made, what is
named, as information over load. Alvin Toffler illustrated that development today is pushing

39. Symbolism In Kate Chopin s The Story Of An Hour
There are many phrases in the English language that, when analyzed, don t make sense at all.
For example, the kiss of death is one of these phrases. Typically we think of a kiss as something
nice, a way of affection from a partner, a parent, grandparent, or even friend. So pairing this
joyful word with something that so many people dread is admittedly an odd choice. Used as a
marking of fate, a kiss of death is a concept that seems very taboo, but really this comparison of
light and dark has been used more often than we may think. In Kate Chopin s short story, The Story
of an Hour, she utilizes imagery by using language that is often self contradictory. With her
combination of dark and cheerful imagery, Chopin creates a very uneasy mood throughout the story
that helps to reflect Mrs. Mallards emotional conflict with her physical surroundings.
After Mr. Mallards announced death, Chopin used the sky as a type of symbolic imagery. In a state
of suspension, Mrs. Mallard stood at the open window, looking out at the scenery in front of her
house. As she looked out the window, she saw that There were patches of blue sky showing here
and there through the clouds that had met and piled one above the other, (Chopin 1). In this
example, Chopin uses her imagery to reflect the stress that is being lifted from Mrs. Mallard. Over
the course of her marriage, Louise Mallard had been suppressing these feelings of entrapment,
causing them to build on themselves like the heavy weight

41. Analysis Of The Book Redeployment By Phil Klay
Through history further and further studies are ongoing into the unseen horror. Some say it is
caused directly in relation to combat; others may say that it is from the images seen. In the book
Redeployment by Phil Klay, he develops several stories from fictitious Marine Corps veterans
that represent veterans one may encounter in the real world. Phil Klay s book contains stories of
relationships at home falling apart all the way to the high stress of patrols as Marines. With
these stories it better shows the unseen horrors of war. Many veterans return home with a
serious disorder. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is the by product of war, and people need to
know more about it to help our returning hero s. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, PTSD for short,
is very real. It does not solely affect soldiers either. For example, my father, a retired firefighter,
relives moments from when he worked at certain times when images are triggered. However, the
modern soldier is more directly associated and found to have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. As

Under the DR CAFTA, there are provisions that would allow the U.S. to suspend some trade
benefits, but only if Guatemala fails to pay the fine (DiMaggio, As TPP Deal Inked ). It seems
likely that if the arbitration panel finds the Guatemalan government and private sector of violating
labor laws, then this government will make its own people pay for the fine in order to continue
reaping the benefits of this free trade

43. Metis Struggle for Self Identification Essay
Metis Struggle for Self Identification
One of the most contentious issues in Canada s history is that of the Metis. Some people feel this
unique group of people does not deserve any sort of recognition, whereas others believe their
unique history and culture is something to be recognized and cherished. The history of the Metis
people is filled with struggle; not only struggles against other powers, but also a struggle for self
identification. Despite strong opposition, the Metis people of Canada have matured as a political
force and have taken great strides towards being recognized as a unique people. The word Metis is
a French word that means: mixed race . Today it is often used for anyone who has European Indian

The most sought after reason for the envy was because of the jobs they were offered. If they
were able to read and write, they were in huge demand at one of the trading companies. Some
would follow in their fathers footsteps and become trappers and traders, a few Metis would even
become chiefs of Indian tribes , because of their knowledge of the white man. The circumstances
that existed at this time encouraged the Metis people to begin to formulate their own identity. In the
early parts of the 17th century, France created the Voyageur system . Voyageurs were labourers who
would transport trade goods between First Nations peoples and the French trading posts . They
functioned under very strict French and Church law. Eventually, several European and Metis
individuals and groups began to trade without the French state s approval. These traders were
called couriers de bois and were vilified by both France and the Church . Since the couriers de
bois acted as free agents, France, and later England, could not profit from transactions made by
the couriers. To counteract the loss in potential revenue, strict measures were created to prevent
the couriers de bois from doing any business. These strict measures were called the conge system,
this was a licensing system where by not more than seventy five traders would go to the west each
year . Many traders were arrested, and often, were saved only because of strong ties

46. Essay Mergers and Acquisitions
Nowadays mergers and acquisitions are regarded as a key strategic option for the organisations all
over the world. According to Huang and Kleiner (2004) mergers and acquisitions have become the
principal means by which companies have the opportunity to grow revenues due to factors such as
gloabalisation, rapid technological changes, a long term bull market and strategic barriers to
growth. Porter and Singh (2010) admit that mergers and acquisitionsplay an important role in
reallocation of resources in an economy. Despite the huge increase of corporate mergers and
acquisitions during the last decades many surveys show that the majority of them fail (Nguyen
and Kleiner 2003).The purpose of this essay is to give a brief overview of mergers... Show more

Roll (1986) states that the hubris model indicates that over confident managers make wrong
estimations about the value of the potential targets and as a consequence they decrease the value of
their shareholders wealth when the acquisition is completed.
The main objective of mergers and acquisitions is to increase market share and shareholder value
by decreasing costs and implementing improved services (Nguyen and Kleiner 2003). Each
organisation in this process targets the strengths and the capabilities of the other in order to
improve its position in the market. Stallworthy and Kharbanda (1988) argue that one of the main
objectives of mergers and acquisitions is the acquirer s diversification with minimum cost in
order to be protected and be restructured in a possible crisis. Keenan and White (1982) mention
that firms seek for synergies in order to diversify and reduce the possibility of bankruptcy, achieve
a better fit between the talents of corporate managers and the resources at their disposals and
simultaneously acquire a bigger market share. Moreover Moon (1976) remarks that many firms
choose to spread the risks by branching out into other unrelated industries or trades.
Furthermore, mergers and acquisitions give the opportunity to buyers to grow faster, to achieve
larger scales of economies and profitability with an existed market share, to eliminate a competitor
by acquiring it and complete effective

47. A Research Study Of Recruiting Cancer Patients From Ubc...
This experiment has some extraneous variables to contemplate including the age of the participant,
presence of others and time of day. These variables require serious consideration to ensure they are
not impacting the results. Since this study is recruiting cancer patients from UBC palliative care
centre, age is an extraneous variable because cancernot only targets the elder population, but
young children as well. The younger patients may be able to perform the exercises more
efficiently than the older patients, which can have significant impacts on the results. In order to
control for possible effects of age, we will limit our sample to palliative patients aged 30 60 years
old. Another variable to consider is the presence of others it has the ability to impact patients
performance on selective days. Some patients may feel more comfortable when they are surrounded
by certain people, but not as relaxed and poised at other times. In order to control for this variable,
the researcher will be sure to have the patients choose who they would like around them while they
exercise. Finally, the time of day the exercise intervention occurs must be taken into consideration.
This has the potential to significantly impact our results because some patients may not be as
functional at different times throughout the day. Therefore, we will specify that the intervention
will take place in the morning.
20 palliative cancer patients aged 30 60 will participate in the study. They will be

48. History Of Mustang Essay
Ryland Thomas
Mrs.Smith
English Period 2
10 May 2016
The 1960s were the golden years for American auto manufacturers such as Chevy, Ford and
Chrysler. With cheap gas prices at 30 cents and the roads open, americans had the need for speed.
The americans need for speed was met by such cars as the Mustang , the camaro, and the super
charged Road Runner. The 1960 s automobiles belonged to a distinct decade of automobilehistory
with the muscle and pony cars.
The mustang was first introduced in April of 1964. The Mustang was one of the first cars to be
labeled as a muscle car.Contrary to popular belief the mustang was not named after the horse, and
it was named after the P 51 Mustang fighter plane. The car was first introduced at the World s
Fair in Flushing Meadows, New York on April 17, 1964 and has been popular ever since. It
combines sporty looks, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The car was built in 1968 and was called the plymouth roadrunner. Under their Plymouth label,
Chrysler released the Road Runner. They had to pay Warner Brothers $50,000 to use the name
Road Runner. The name was based on the popular Road Runner cartoon. Just like its cartoon
counterpart, the Plymouth Road Runner was one fast car.
Transition
The 1960s was a very important time in the automotive industry. The mustang was the car that
started it all. The mustang created a new category of cars called muscle cars. Muscle cars were
sleek in design a had lots of power. The americans need for speed was met these muscle

49. A Single, Comprehensive Solution For Environmental Challenges
A single, comprehensive solution to environmental challenges does not exist. The subject matter of
the environment is interdisciplinary and entails diverse sets of strategies and solutions. Historically,
collective action solutions have focused on conventional governmental regulations or privatization.
It operates under the assumption that under the established apparatus of government and private
institutions, individuals could join cooperative efforts and contribute to the cause. Hardin argued
for the centralized administration of resources by governmental agencies or the privatization of the
commons and allow the private enterprise to manage the common as it sees fit (Hardin 1968).
Nobel prizing winning economist, Elinor Ostrom disputed such claims, asserting that governments
have large agendas and cannot consider local environmental problems and some resources such as
water and air cannot be privatized. Ostrom insists that the state or the market cannot be successful
in ensuring the sustainable use of natural resources (Ostrom 1990). According to Ostrom and her
research, an alternative approach to the problem of the commons is community mobilization, or
polycentric governance. The alternative approach is characterized by multiple cooperative
independent institutions organized and governed under a general system of rules. The citizens and
officials of the community all come together to jointly chart the priorities and management of their
local resources, while balancing

50. Lab Report On The 20 Wheat Seedlings
The 20 wheat seedlings was the sample size used in each of the five treatments, see Table 1.
Among those 10 unpaired t tests two out of the 10, Test 5 (Shoot length 1XCM vs 4XCM) and
Test 6 (Seedling biomass Water vs 1XCM) had actual p values greater than 0.05 (see Table 1). The
calculated t values for the previously mentioned two t tests were lower than the critical t value,
2.024 (see Table 1). For shoot length (cm), the trend shows mean shoot length to increase with
increasing concentration of nutrient treatment until 3XCM, where the mean and standard deviation
is at its greatest (xМ…= 27.945cmВ±5.605cm) and drops slightly at 4XCM (see Figure 1). The
pattern of the mean biomass (g), increases up to treatment 2XCM (xМ…=0.2275gВ±0.0488g) at
which mean values begin to decline a slight degree afterwards (see Figure 2).
Table 1. Data collected of shoot length (cm) and seedling biomass (g), depicting the calculated t
value and actual p value for each of the 10 two tailed t tests along with the critical t value and cut
off p value. Figure 1. The mean shoot length (cm) for the control and each concentration of the full
medium complement is illustrated, along with standard deviation error bars. A sample size of 20
for each experimental treatment was used to calculate the mean.

51. Thyroid Surgery Research Paper
Thyroid surgery is a broad term covering any type of operation on the thyroid gland. This is an
organ shaped like a butterfly which sits at the front of your neck, producing hormones that maintain
your metabolism. Almost all thyroid surgery involves some type of thyroid removal, also called a
thyroidectomy. There are two main types of thyroidremoval: a total thyroidectomy and a
hemithyroidectomy. In a total thyroidectomy, your whole thyroid gland is removed, whereas in a
hemithyroidectomy only about one half of it is removed.
Thyroid surgery is done by endocrine surgeons. These are surgeons who have specialised in
operating on organs which produce hormones such as the thyroid, parathyroid, pancreas and
adrenal glands. This means that the doctor carrying out the thyroid surgery will have years of
experience in thyroid removal and be able to minimise any risks. They are able to discuss what
type of surgery is best for you and what your unique concerns are. While your surgeon will discuss
risks in detail before gaining your consent for the surgery here are three of the most important
complications of thyroid surgery, especially thyroid removal.
Hypothyroidism ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This means that you don t have enough healthy thyroid tissue remaining to make thyroid hormone
or thyroxine. If this occurs you may need to take a small pill containing artificial thyroxine to keep
your metabolism working at an appropriate rate. Some people are hyperthyroid prior to thyroid
removal, meaning they are producing too much thyroxine. Whether your thyroxine levels were
normal or high prior to the surgery they ll be carefully monitored afterwards. Hypothyroidism is
expected after a total thyroidectomy but uncommon after a hemithyroidectomy or other thyroid
