Shooting An Elephant George Orwell Essay
Crafting an essay on George Orwell's "Shooting an Elephant" can be a challenging endeavor.
The complexity lies not only in understanding the nuanced themes and literary devices employed
by Orwell but also in the intricate exploration of colonialism, power dynamics, and moral
dilemmas presented in the essay.
To start, one must delve into Orwell's personal experiences as a colonial officer in Burma,
deciphering the layers of his internal conflict as he grapples with the expectations of his role and
his moral compass. Unraveling the symbolism behind the elephant and dissecting the allegorical
elements adds another layer of intricacy to the analysis.
Furthermore, the essay demands a keen ability to navigate Orwell's narrative style, which
seamlessly blends personal anecdotes with broader societal reflections. Balancing a critical
examination of the text while drawing connections to historical contexts and Orwell's broader
body of work requires a thorough understanding of literary analysis techniques.
The task is not only to summarize but to illuminate the underlying messages and provocations
woven into Orwell's prose. Formulating a thesis that captures the essence of the essay and
substantiating it with well-reasoned arguments adds to the intellectual challenge.
In essence, crafting an essay on "Shooting an Elephant" requires not just the ability to articulate
ideas coherently but also a deep engagement with Orwell's thought-provoking narrative. It
demands a thoughtful exploration of the complex themes and a skillful weaving of literary
analysis to convey the depth of Orwell's reflections.

The time of the Cuban Revolution involved a great deal of turmoil for Cuba as well
as other countries around the world. In 1945, shortly after the end of World War II,
the Cold War was taking off between the United States and the Soviet Union.1 Cuba
was in the middle of its own war, the revolution, when they caught up in the
international politics of the Cold War. The interaction between international and
domestic politics played a major role in the outcome of the revolution. The result of
the revolution left Fidel Castroin charge of Cuba. The Platt Amendment states that the

Castro s speech, History Will Absolve Me, he discusses different kinds of policies
that he would like to enforce on Cuba and make the Cuban society believers of his

of Cuba. Even though, the actual Revolution was successful he failed to abide by
his promises to the people regarding a successful economic reform in Cuba. The
actions taken by Castro in his trial and his History Will Absolve Me speech really
showed his view on the anti Batista movement. It helped the people of Cuba to

Political Scenario in India
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
India is heading for the 2014 General Election, which will decide which party is
going to get the clear majority in the Parliament. As a part of preparation for the big
political battle, all the parties seem to be ready with their campaigning strategy and
issues.
The recently rally by Congress in New Delhi and JD(U) in Patna are the best set
example that parties have already geared up for the battle 2014. There are many
issues like corruption, inflation, subsidies on LPG, and hike in Petrol prices which
could put voters in puzzles to decide their right candidates to send to the Parliament.
The year 2012 was full high voltage political activities, since the beginning of the
year the Jan Lokpal Bill has been in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The national government has the power to dismiss state governments under specific
constitutional clauses or in case no majority party or coalition is able to form a
government. The central government can also impose direct federal rule known as
president s rule (or central rule). Locally, the Panchayati Raj system has several
administrative functions and authorities.
For most of the years since independence, the federal government has been guided by
the Indian National Congress (INC). The two largest political parties have been the
INC and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Although the two parties have dominated
Indian politics, regional parties also exist. From 1950 to 1990, barring two brief
periods, the INC enjoyed a parliamentary majority. The INC was out of power
between 1977 and 1980, when the Janata Party won the election due to public
discontent with the corruption (promulgation of Emergency with stringent forces) of
Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. In 1989, a Janata Dal led National Front coalition, in
alliance with the Left Front coalition, won the elections but managed to stay in power
for only two years.

Personal Statement Of David Lachapelle
All of my life I have had a passion for music and fashion, and have always searched
for ways to drench myself in domains that reflect a competitive and fast paced
industry. My interest in art, photography, and celebrity music videos, has often led
me to the name David LaChapelle. But until I pursued a photographycourse last year I
never knew the depth of who he was.
American born David LaChapelle, is an outstanding contemporary photographer,
music video director, film director and artist. His work is often seen as strange and
delightful, yet profoundly odd. Huge numbers of his photos are digitally upgraded
and frequently contain nudity. He has an intriguing comical inclination about him,

Balancing School With Work And Life Essay
Balancing School with Work and LifeBalancing work, school and life is a juggle that
many of us find ourselves dealing with. It can be very challenging unless you find a
way to make it work for you and your family. It s not easy but in the end it will pay
off and you will be very happy that you have completed your degree. I have tried
many times to go back to schoolto get my degree. But I couldn t settle on any
particular major. First it was accounting and then criminal justice with a minor in
astronomy. Then I took a break, went back to school, and started a new area of
study as a paralegal. But then I had a lot of things go wrong in my life and just too
much happening so I took time off again. When I decided to go back I tried... Show

Right know I barely have any days off because they are split and I work two nights
overnight. And the days I do have off are when I get off work at 6am. On the days
I work overnight I find myself coming home, letting my dogs out, getting the
horses feed, and then going in and studying for an hour or so. I only get a few
hours of sleep before I have to get back up to get some of my household chores
done and going to karate class. On the other days, I try and get an hour of study
time in and then relax. On weekends I usually work in the mornings and then come
home to let my animals out, spend some time with them and then get some study
time in. After studying for a bit, I try and get some household stuff done, helping
my parents out with stuff around their place, working outside. My horse likes to
cause trouble and escape so I am forever fixing fence line and dealing with him.
Trying to balance school, work, and life in general is hard, but it is rewarding. I
have to commit myself to getting things done and not put them off. I know I have a
lot on my plate but I know that if I work hard and continue to pace myself I can do
it. I just have to make the time to do it and decide what is more important to
Developing Wireless Communications to Space Essay
A big potential problem in the future is developing a wireless communications
network in outer space. In this paper we will discuss the problems presented with this
and the potential solutions to these problems using existing and some futuristic
technology. We have broke this into two main parts, one being earth to satellite to
planet and back, and the other being planetary ground transmission to and from
astronauts to rovers to space stations.
The solution has already started being implemented and will continue rapidly into the
near future. It is called the Interplanetary Internet. As of now it is an array of floating
nodes or satellites scattered around in space that can communicate with each other. In
the future a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the earth we are only separated from one another by fractions of a second. From
earth to mars the average transmission time is 30 45 minutes. That would feel like
light years trying to download tracks to your iPod.
In order to make this work a massive system of satellites needs to be implemented.
These satellites will serve as net gateways with the purpose of conveying data
packets. Each piece of equipment will have its own IPN address, or .mars domain
name. They will serve as nodes, operating on a packet switched network.
Some major possible problems include lag, weak signal, and reduced bandwidth.
The solution to all of these lies in a new IPN protocol being developed. This
protocol, along with high precision equipment, will help to eliminated all of these.
The protocol has changed in two major ways from our own TCP/IP protocol. This
first is a packet delivery scheme that won t clog the system by resending missing
packets. IPN instead keeps track of arriving packets and then requesting missing
ones at the end of delivery. The second is the packet headers will use only one tenth
as much bandwidth as TCP/IP. Back on earth there will be gateways to translate.
Another big problem with the Interplanetary Internet is speed. Using our current
technology the top speed for sending data from a satellite orbiting mars to earth is
250 kbps. Down on mars, in a dusty unknown atmosphere with not much power, this
is more like 10 kbps. The solution
The Impact Chris McCandless Made on the Lives of Others
Who influenced the other party more? Chris or the people he met along his
journey? Without any money, or material objects Chris was able to leave a lasting
impact on the people he met on his journey to Alaska. In Into The Wild by Jon
Krakauer, Chris McCandless is able to leave a greater influence on the people he
met along his journey to Alaska rather than the impact they made on him. On Chris s
journey to Alaska, he met a gentleman by the name of Ronald Franz, and is able to
leave a lasting impression on him that Ron is not able to reciprocate to Chris. In the
book, author Jon Krakauerstates McCandless made an indelible impression on a
number of people during the course of his hegira, most of whom spent only a few days

He s out there somewhere, and I d want someone to look after him like I tried to
look after Alex (Krakauer 45). Jan s actions showed that she was trying to be a
motherly figure to Chris. But Chris s response showed that he did not want to be
like a son to Jan. so Jan s feelings towards Chris were a lot stronger than Chris s
feelings towards Jan. This quote also shows that Chris brought back memories of
Jan s son. Chris reminds Jan of her son, while Jan does not remind Chris of his
mother. For these reasons, Chris is able to have an effect on Jan far greater than
the affect Jan is able to have on Chris. Although not as substantial as the impact left
on the Burres s or Ron Franz, Chris is still able to leave a great impact on Tracy. As
Jan describes her she was this sweet little thing... the daughter of a couple of
tramps who parked their rig four vehicles down (Krakauer 44). Jan then goes on to
explain that Tracy fell hopelessly in love with Alex. Jan says she fell in love with
McCandless during his week long visit...and poor Tracy developed a hopeless
crush on Alex. The whole time he was in Niland, she hung around making goo goo
eyes at him, bugging me to convince him to go on walks with her. Alex was nice to
her, but she was too young for him. He couldn t take her seriously. Probably left her
broken hearted for a whole week at least (Krakauer 44). Here,

These two groups have more ability to educate consumers about new products and
their benefits. In my opinion it is very important because the consumers get very
confused as CGC provides so many different products that actually have different
benefits. As the products get upgraded people who work with them should be also
upgraded to be able to communicate the message as clear as possible.
4.Investing heavily on promotion and advertising campaigns
Keep spending money on advertising. CGC should try to stick and develop on

attention to the company but might also attract more people to the sport itself. The
company looks big enough to hold its own tournaments that would also bring more
people.

By practicing volume discount policies CGC might encourage buyer to order
products in large volumes
6.The company should focus on using its previous models more efficiently
Old models take a large percentage of companys inventory what creates unnecessary
costs. CGC should move these models to new markets that recently adopted Golf as a
sport.

The ward has not implemented the named nurse concept in accordance with the
patient s charter, which states, patients should have a qualified named nurse who
will be responsible for their nursing care (DOH, 1991). However, it did take
advantage of the team nursing concept, as Waters (1985) suggests in many health
care settings team nursing is practiced , and each shift organised with a nurse in
charge of a 4 bed bay, and on admission, this nurse was responsible for carrying out
the initial assessment, with care plans updated on a 24 hour basis. APPRAISAL
OF THE NURSING/HEALTH MODEL A nursing model is a concept, or an idea,
often described as being like building blocks. Newton (1991) describes nursing
models as being a mental picture of nursing . They originated in the US in the
1960s with an aim of describing what nurses do, and today there are many of them
for nurses to follow. They are made up of 4 concepts, which consist of, the patient,
their health, their environment and nursing care. The role of models in nursing
practice is to give direction or guidance (Akinsanya, Cox, Crouch and Fletcher
1994), or to form a basis for nurses to base their practice. If a team of nurses can
agree on a particular model, then the advantages can lead to: 1. Consistency and
continuity of care and care patterns and treatments; 2. Create less conflict within the
nursing team; 3. Make sense of the care given to

a deserted island. Connell writes vividly using different forms of figurative language.
The story engages the reader to feel the emotions that Rainsford experiences and uses
dialogue to advance the plot. The characters are well made however, not much
background is given to the reason why they are certain ways. Connell s tone used in
this story is fueled by adrenaline and stoic personalities. The encompassing theme of
Rainsford s experience in the jungle is with General Zaroff, the antagonist, is the

music helps the audience connect different pieces of evidence in the story together.
Chicago is set in the rise of jazz culture. To create the atmosphere of jazz, the
directors had all background music be a type of a jazz piece. If the directors were to

within in each musical number are character plots and numerous other topics. The
directors filmed Chicago with the intention of creating a new depth to the movie.

A Summary On The Film The Night
Over the colossal castle, the spherical star above leaned cautiously. The noose
eclipsed the sunlight; relentless guards grabbed their attention of every creature
which had clinking chains glued to their soiled feet. Led by enslaving chains; the mist
blew through the ashen compound. As dejected hostages babbled helplessly, faint
whimpers deafened the abominable scene. Masking beats of drums pursued every
hesitant shuffle.
Anxiously, the morose hostages scuffled onwards; they limped in desperation onto
the wooden deck. The inmates blistered, wounded soles struggled. Wrapping it
around the peasant s bony neck, scraping away at the remaining skin, the ruffian
beast grabbed the noose. Mercilessly, he grasped the corroded lever and heaved it. ...

The atmosphere created a faded glow that crept behind them. Their vacant eyes had
such a vivid blue in life that made the others afraid to see what they looked like after
death. Their luminous and gleam of their eyes would soon cease and never return.
The hostage s last image in their minds would be pale, dreary corpses which are
discarded.
A clammed breeze lifted the cinders from the gallows, shrouding the atmosphere in a
copper haze. The silver coin reflected with its qualities of molten riches; weathered
by its eternal existence, it sat in the diminutive palm of his hand. The relic glistened
in the sun. With apprehensive energy, his eyes coruscated as a celestial voice broke
out of him; the ruthless executioner yanked the defenceless child onto the wooden
barrel, putting a noose around head as it swallowed it whole. As he sang, he reflected
on his mortal life; knowing it would vanish briskly. The adolescence, timid boy s soul
poured past the rotten, blanched ground which flawed into the emotions of the aghast
crowd. Just then, death was roused. Dubiously, the vigorous executioner marched
behind him, wondering what raised his feeble audacity.
Surrounding him, there was an aura of ashen charcoal; a state of abasement that he
couldn t see himself through. It was a world of obscurity; the glossy glint he had
revealed. His melancholy, colourless eyes spoke of his depraved anguish.

management (2nd ed.). San Diego, CA: Bridgepoint Education, Inc.
Discussion 2
1) What kind of companies should employ the simple structure organizational
configuration?
Simple structure configurations are starter companies. They hire top level managers
to ensure the company serves its mission in the most effective way. Employees who
work for these types of companies only answer to one manager which is typically
the owner. These businesses mostly have a small crew that work there. These types
of organizations work their way up the divisional structure. An example of this type
of business would be a pet grooming. The owner is usually always present and there
are no managers.
2) What kind of companies should use the machine bureaucracy form of structure?
Bureaucracy structures are mass producing factories that work on a set routine
schedule and require strict rules which are implemented by several managers. These
types of companies are a stable work environment and employees do the same thing
every day. Any company that requires a uniform standard to operate and produces
mass quantities of a product will use this type of structure. An example of this type of
company would be Snap On.
3) What kinds of organization should feature a professional bureaucracy form of
structure?
A professional bureaucracy may be used when a company relies on highly skilled

In every culture there are extremists. The same goes for white people. Not every
African American is a bad person, not every Arab is a terrorist. I think if people
got to know what these people actually stood for and the type of people they are,
then racism would be ridden from our country. But until then, we will never be a
good society. For me personally, when my friend moved to Iowa from Vietnam back
in 3rd grade, I wasn t terrified, I didn t question the things he stood for or any of that.
Honestly, I thought it was cool that he didn t know much English. I wanted to learn
about the Vietnamese language and all the things they do over there that were

or racism with him.
Analysis Of The Last Night That She Lived
The poem by Emily Dickinson entitled the The Last Night That She Lived is about
the death of a family member. The death was rather expected as it seems. The
reason we know this is because the whole family was already gathered in order to
be there when she passed. Dickinson was labeled as a dark and morbid writer in her
time. In the poem The Last Night That She Lived, we get to experience the sadness,
grief, and even spirituality of Dickinson s feelings when dealing with her experiences
of death.
We are immediately made aware at the beginning of the poem that there is nothing
out of place about this day except that they lost a family member. Dickinson was
letting it be known that while the rest of the world continued as usual, they sat there
in a room watching one of their suffering family members take her last breath. Death
makes life different somehow. As Dickinson states, this to Us Made Nature Different
(lines 3,4), she tells us that when her family member died it changed them. This
poem shows the raw emotion of sadness and the effect of grief overtaken her in just 6
short stanzas.
In this poem Dickinson makes the reader aware that death is an everyday event but
can change the lives of the ones that are the closest to that person. When death
becomes a reality the family seems to realize that the smaller things are very
important, We noticed the smaller things Things overlooked before/ By this great
light upon our Minds Italicized as twere (lines 5,6,7,8). The things that everyday
people do not slow down to see, become significant when the realization comes that
there is someone that will not get to enjoy those same small things.
Dickinson talks about the house were the family member lays dying in like it is
unfair that people will continue to live in it. She shows a brief sign of being angry
that people will continue to dwell in the same place that her loved one has passed
away in. As we went out and in/ Between Her final Room/ And Rooms where
Those to be alive/ Tomorrow were, a Blame (lines 9,10,11,12) It makes the house
seem more like a simple passage way only used for entering and exits. It takes the
idea of it actually being someone s home away from the poem. The reader starts to see

Superman Returns
Hot off the heels of two successful X Men films, Bryan Singer was given the Brass
Ring , when Warner Brothers offered him the directors chair to reintroduce
Superman to modern movie audiences. At the time it seemed like the right choice.
Singers X Men films where loved by critics and movie goers alike. The films were
reminiscent in Richard Donners approach by remaining faithful to the source and
using practical effects rather than the cold or lifeless CGI approach which was
becoming the norm.
It looked like Superman would finally be done right and reclaim the crown as the
world greatest superhero. Although Singers 2006 film Superman Returns did decent
numbers, even beating Batman Begins opening weekend, the film was seen as a
failure in relaunching

Tinker V Moines Case Study
The 1969 Tinker v. Des Moines court case attested the First Amendment privileges of
understudies in school. The Court held that a school region abused the students
freedom of speech rights when it singled out a type of typical discourse black
armbands worn in dissent of the Vietnam War for denial, without demonstrating the
armbands would bring about significant disturbance in class.
In 1965, Des Moines, Iowa occupants, John F. Tinker (15 years of age), his siblings
Mary Beth Tinker (13 years of age), Hope Tinker (11 years of age), and Paul Tinker
(8 years of age), alongside their companion Christopher Eckhardt (16 years of age)
chose to wear black armbands to their schools (secondary school for John and
Christopher, middle school for Mary Beth, grade school for Hope and Paul) in
dissent of the Vietnam War and supporting the Christmas Truce called for by Senator
Robert F. Kennedy. The principals of the Des Moines School District educated of the
arrangement and met on December 14 to make a policy that expressed that school
students wearing an armband would be making a request to remove it immediately.
Disregarding the request would result in suspension and permitted to come back to
class subsequent to consenting to agree to the new policy. The members chose to

Jaquan Waller Character Analysis
Young and talented football player, Jaquan Waller, known as the star running back
for the Greenville Rose High School football team, ended his skyrocketing career
unexpectedly. In 2008, Jaquan left the field just completing any ordinary carry and
tackle play, when he suddenly collapsed on the sidelines. Jaquan died the next
morning leaving his family, team members, and coaches in mourn. Two days prior to
his tragic death, he took a massive hit at practice and experienced a mild concussion.
Like many other victims to this syndrome, Jaquan unknowingly endured a entire
game with a brain injury. Dr. James R. Andrews states, Every year, more than three
and a half million children under the age of fourteen require medical treatment for
injuries incurred while participating in team or individual sports, and this number is
on the rise...Yet, despite these statistics, sports injuries are largely preventable,
especially children and adolescents. As these statistics start to grow, more and more
parents are contemplating whether or not to let their kids play dangerous sports. But...

Robert Cantu discusses the lessons that can t be learned in sports like tennis or
golf. He writes, In football, a lineman can execute a crackerjack block that clears
the way for the runner to burst through the hole. The runner trips on his feet and

Pressure is also a crucial learning aspect in sports. Most athletes love the pressure a

challenge set in front of them. The responses that these athletes give under pressure is
amazing and gives them the self motivation they need to
Quality Time Redefined Essay
Beeps, blips and pings are now the everyday sounds that we live with, thanks to
our push button gizmos and fast paced lifestyle. Nowadays, an evening in the

It is obviously undeniable that technology has its benefits; no one is arguing against
that. Technology helps us connect with people we would have otherwise ever
connected with, it makes obtaining information easily accessible. However, too
much use of technology takes away from socializing with people face to face. It s
like we are almost losing touch with the real world, instead of face to face
communication, people can be in the same room conversing through text. I believe in
order to emphasize the family unit it is important to establish guidelines, and spend
time with your children. You can certainly have fun enjoying the wonders of

Ice Hockey Is The Highest Level For Men s Hockey
Ice hockey is a contact team sport played on ice, usually in a rink, in which two
teams of skaters use their sticks to shoot a vulcanized rubber puck into their
opponent s net to score points. Ice hockey teams usually consist of four lines of
three forwards, three pairs of defencemen, and two goaltenders. Normally, each
team has five players who skate up and down the ice trying to take the puck and
score a goal against the opposing team. Teams normally have a goaltender as their
sixth on ice player, whose job is to prevent the puck from entering the goal.

The contemporary sport of ice hockey was developed in Canada, most notably in
Winsor, where the first hockey game was played on March 3, 1875. Some
characteristics of that game, such as the length of the ice rink and the use of a
puck, have been retained to this day. Amateur ice hockey leagues began in the
1880s, and professional ice hockey originated around 1900. The Stanley Cup,
emblematic of ice hockey club supremacy, was first awarded in 1893 to recognize
the Canadian amateur champion and later became the championship trophy of the
NHL. In the early 1900s, the Canadian rules were adopted by the Ligue
Internationale de Hockey sur Glace, the precursor of the IIHF and the sport was
played for the first time in the Olympics in the Olympic Games of 1920.
In international competitions, the national teams of six countries (The Big Six )

only six medals were not awarded to one of those countries. In the annual Ice

The Reasons for Student Plagiarism and Ways to Avoid It
PThe reasons for student plagiarism and ways to avoid it
This is an essay examine that the reasons for students plagiarism and how can avoid it

cause of the phenomenon of students plagiarism. In the second place, this essay
investigates the influence of teaching to decrease the incidence of plagiarism. In this
age of change, the human race is progressing rapidly on various fronts. Yet at the
same time, many problems have arisen, a serious one of which is the plagiarism. An
increasing amount of students get into the internet to search the information and just

As a student, if the cost of getting caught is too high, he or she is not willing to
plagiarize. Secondly, the teachers in university should teach students that how to
complete their assessments, essays and reports with citation in the correct way.
Otherwise, the incidence of unintentional plagiarism wills increase. Furthermore, the
professor teaches students skills to recognize how to paraphrase information properly
by way of example (Snow, 2006). Most importantly, the most effective is way to set
up a system for check up on students sources, such as Turn It In, which is one of the
most popular checking systems. It will encourage student to check their own work
whether plagiarism or not before their submission. And besides, students will try
either consciously or unconsciously to avoid any plagiarism. Particularly, the purport
of this system is guarantee for avoid intentional plagiarism in maximum extent.
Students would not dare to copy while they were asking to Turnitin.

When starting this assignment I had no clue exactly what my ecological footprint
was, I never really paid attention to what and ecological footprint was until this
assignment. In order for me to figure out what my ecological footprint is I chose to
take two quizzes in order to see if my answers all matched up. After taking both
tests my results were all different but all stated that the way I am going about life in
our habit is not so eco friendly as I thought I was and I definitely need to make some
changes. My first ecological footprintquiz that I took was through Global Footprint
Network. The quiz was simulated and it questioned how I go about things on a
daily bases. Once all the questions were answered it gave me the diagnostic of my
ecological footprint and I discovered I am about the complete opposite of
ecofriendly. At the end of the quiz after receiving my diagnostic the website gave me

4.35 earths. After taking both quizzes I began to question the accuracy of both
quizzes but then I realized that the second quiz asked me more questions of me

How Did The First World War Change The World
According to a study done by USA TODAY in 1999, World War I was ranked
eighth in the top one hundred news stories of the twentieth century. The First
World War was and still is one of the most historical wars to go down in history,
changing the world forever. It was the first time there was a global conflict and
with the introduction of new technology, millions of soldiers and civilians lost
their lives. The Great War would haunt and alter the world for decades, becoming a
catalyst to so many historical events to come after it. The four year long war did
not end with the signing of the treaty of Versailles, it sent the world into shambles
and lived on by affecting the world socially, politically, economically,
psychologically and culturally. In the poems A War Film by Teresa Hooley, Dulce
Et Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen, Education by Pauline Barrington, They by

The poem Education by Pauline Barrington speaks of a change in the culture and

Pygmy Sloth Research Paper
During my travels, I took a trip to Costa Rica to enjoy the beaches, the views, the
surfing, as well as to see my favorite animals, sloths. I found myself exploring the
Sloth Sanctuary of Costa Rica whose mission is to place focus on the rescue,
rehabilitation, release and research of sloths and conserving the Costa Rican
rainforest. Many of the sloths in the sanctuary were recovering from wounds due to
human interference. While sloths have evolved over 64 million years making them
perfectly designed for a quiet life in the rainforest, humans are encroaching on sloth
homes much faster than our lazy friends can adapt. Unfortunately, due to the increase
in habitat destruction over recent years sloths are at a higher risk for extinction.

As more tourist being visiting Panama and the surrounding islands, the pygmy
sloths are at an increase risk of endangerment. Due to the fact that this species of
sloth can only be found on the Isla Escudo de Verguas it is imperative that the
government of Panama recognizes the endangerment of the pygmy sloth and places
more security on the island. The fate of the pygmy sloth depends largely on whether
or not additional steps are taken to protect Escudo de Veraguas. The island s current
protection status leaves open the possibility of future development and is vague as
to who may develop it. Declaring the island a wildlife refuge or national park would
protect not only the pygmy sloths, but also the other unique species found on the
island.
A similar conservation legislation has been successfully enacted in the past by the
government of Panama to protect vulnerable island ecosystems. For example, Isla
Iguana has been given the status of wildlife refuge, which protects the island s
flora and fauna while also allowing tourism and local use under the supervision of
park rangers (Voirin, 2015). A similar status as a protected national park, with park
rangers and a ranger station, for Isla Escudo de Veraguas would not only protect the
native wildlife, but could also regulate the island s usage by the local indigenous
visitors and
Tim Burton Essay
From the creepy ghoul filled streets of Halloween Town to the candy crowded
rooms of Willie Wonka s chocolate factory, Tim Burton is a master of suspense and
directing. His use of cinematic techniques created incredible worlds beyond
imagination. People from all over find themselves pulled into the originality of his
stories and the depth of his characters. His ingenious use of sound, lighting, and
shots and framing create diverse and colorful masterpieces. First off, sound makes
up a large part of film making, especially a Tim Burton film. For example, in The

causes a sense of suspense since it usually takes place in the dark streets of

The beginning of James and the Giant Peach is depressing because of the rickety
old dark house and the lighting is very low key making everything gray and dreary.
The only bright object is the one peach on the tree. Tim Burton s uses lighting to
create different moods to a scene and it s evident in all his movies. Lastly, shots
and framing are crucial to Tim Burton s films. In the mansion of Edward
Scissorhands, Peg is shown at al long shot making her appear vulnerable. Also,
Edward is shown at a long shot which then zooms to make him appear more
threatening. Tim Burton uses close ups to spook the audience when Jack comes
out of the coffin in The Nightmare Before Christmas. Big Fish gives us another
example of how the director uses shots and framing to convey a subtle message. In
the movie Edward is seen talking to a giant with the scene being shot and framed at
a low angle making him appear vulnerable in comparison to the giant. The same
effect can be appreciated when the main character is shot from a high angle as is the
case of Willie in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. In this scene Willie is being
yelled at by his Dad for eating too much candy. The scene is shot from a high angle
making Willie look insignificant. Shots and Framing are vitals in Tim Burton s
movies because they set the point of view and perspective that allow the viewers to
see the characters in the same

1.How did you follow the steps of the Creative Process to complete this project?
Step 1: Inspiring
I followed the steps of the Creative Process to complete this project. I was inspired by

collage to be related to traveling, and so when I saw the post I was instantly
inspired. The artist created the art work because she wished to go to Japan one day

always wanted to see Madame Tussaud s Wax Museum in Londonand the Sherlock

collage; London.

For example, in my collage you can see a cartoon version of bug ben and a printed
out London stamp. The stamp is bigger than the clock on Big Ben. In real life,
stamps are much smaller than Big Ben. Another place I used proportion is with
Prince William and Kate and the London Eye. In my collage you can see that Kate
and William are about the same size as the London Eye next to them. In real life,
they are nowhere close to being the same size of the London Eye. Therefore I used
proportion in my collage.
6.Are you happy with your collage? Why or why not?
Yes, I am very happy with my collage. While making it, I was reminded of all the
memories I made when I had travelled to London in the past such as standing so
close to Buckingham Palace, taking a ride on the London Eye, hear Big Ben
chime and climbing the statues in Trafalgar Square. Now whenever I look at my
collage, it brings back these memories. I am also very happy with the size of my
collage, it isn t too big, but it isn t too small.
7.What would you change about your collage if you had to alter it or make

the Ku Klux Klan, while his mother was in support forward progress politics; Jones
would come to side with the latter. As a child, Jones studied Joseph Stalin, Karl
Marx, Mahatma Gandhi, and Adolf Hitler (Reiterman, 1982). He would pick out
the strength of each person and this is where he gained his knowledge that led him
to be in support of socialism. Jones was obsessed with religion as a child and
would often perform funerals for deceased animals; one of these animals came
from when he stabbed a cat to death. Jones showed many signs of intelligence; one
being when he graduated from high school early with honors (Jones, 2002). Jim

By 2012 Nike had a revenue in excess of $24.1 billion and employed over 44,00

it the most valuable brand among sports businesses. The global retail sports apparel
industry has been growing rapidly and is expected to continue that growth trend as it
reaches approximately $125 billion in 2017. The increase in demand for sports
apparel and promising demographic conditions throughout Asia are expected to boost
the market over the forecast period. Some of the factors that drive the growth in the
industry are increasing individual sport and athletic participation,
The Comedy of Hamlet
The Comedy of Hamlet
Shakespearean plays are often known for their outstanding entertainment and classic
comic conflict. In his masterwork, Hamlet, Shakespeare uses these aspects to serve
his thematic purpose. He has used comedy throughout many of his historic plays, but
in this play, comedy is the drawing point that makes it fun and entertaining, yet clear
and intuitive. Generally, his tragedies are not seen as comical, but in reality, they are
full of humor. However, these comic elements don t simply serve to relieve tension;
they have much significance to the play itself. The characters of Hamlet, Polonius,
Osric, and the Gravediggers, prove to be very influential characters, and throughout
the play, they are the individuals that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Osric s role during the play was to enlighten the intensity in the room and use
humor to create a positive atmosphere. As courtier to the king, Osric was not
necessarily one of the most influential characters, but he did play an important role
as a servant and braggart soldier (Draudt, 2002). His character allowed a more
powerful character (Hamlet), to not only make fun of [his] diction, but also
deliberately baffle and confuse [him] and thus expose [his] slow wits (Draudt,
2002). Throughout Act V, Osric isn t usually the one to offer the humor, but the
humor is revolved around him. This type of comedy reflects the meaning of his
social class, and as Hamlet ridicules him, it only weakens his reputation.
Nonetheless, Hamlet uses this humor to poke fun at Osric and is therefore viewed
as comedy. The importance of this action is to show the ignorance of Osric s
character and how easily he can be manipulated by his fellow men and because it
highlights his function in society and his class rank.
In addition to being mocked, Osric also serves as [a] foil to the hero (Hamlet),
contrasting with [his] genuine wit... [and] honesty (Draudt, 2002). As a foil, Osric is
the complete opposite of Hamlet, and that can be seen by the way Hamlet treats
Osric. This reveals to the audience the differences

Anaylsis of the Studies in Galaions by Tom Wacaster Essay...
The book, Studies in Galatians, by Tom Wacaster was an excellent study and very
well put together. I felt he did a great job gathering others together to elaborate on
some of the main points from this book. From the beginning, the author let you
know, in the introduction a specific direction he was aiming toward even though the
introduction seem to be a bit long. However, after I looked at it upon completion of
reading, I appreciated it more than when I read it the first time. When you take
second look, it made me understand the reading better. Moreover, the flow of the book
was well organized, with the outlineof the whole book coming after the introduction,
and the remainder of the book broken down verse by verse, which brings the... Show

Nevertheless, the first chapter ends with a surprise to me when Wacaster places
endnotes very precisely seemingly as a way to not forget anyone along the way.
Next, as we graduate to Chapter Two, I m guilty of looking for those quotes by
men. The book has almost become predictable, yet bearable. I don t know if it was
by design, but those quotes or writings Wacaster would interject in this book were a
breath of fresh air. They seem to go outside the box unlike the writer. I have to give
him a lot of credit for assembling a great team and making this book very interesting.
In addition, I noticed Wacaster would take a time out and take notice of some very
important facts about what was just written, which was also very helpful in
making this book better to understand. This was done in outline form to make more
sense of what was just read and lets me know as a reader of his material that he
sincerely wants readers to understand what they are reading. Perhaps, it could be to
that he was honing a very elite skilled that he picked up from the Brown Trail School
of Preaching known as sermon outlines. However, something else that stuck out with
me from Chapter Two is The Riddle of Having Been Crucified With Christ. This
riddle uncharacteristically has four points similarly to a sermon outline, which I can
truly say was very well thought out and put together. I intend on including the four
point riddle in my future
Relations Between Iran And Iran
This paper explores long strained relations between Iran and United States that
began decades ago. The paper also examines the events that led to this decades of
disagreement between Washington and Tehran. Allies to enemies, that is what
happen after series of events such as the CIA backed coup in 1953 to the hostage
crises at the U.S Embassy in Tehran. The U.S and many of its allies criticized Irans
nuclear program which they believed that Iran was using it to develop nuclear
weapons. Iran on the other hand denied this accusations and stated that their nuclear
program was only for civilian use only. After long talks and crippling sanctions
against Iran, finally there was a historic agreement between Iran and six world
powers that would stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and would lift the
sanctions imposed on Iran.
Keywords: Foreign relations, executive agreement, interest groups, theocracy,
multilateralism
The Nuclear Deal
Iran and the United States were once a powerful ally. During the Cold War, the United
States supported, and some cases rallied allied countries, including Iran as a
fortification against the Soviet Union. In certain cases, the United States was
supporting unpopular and suppressive regimes. The Shah of Iran and his suppressive
regime was one of those governments. The Shah regime was overthrown in 1979 and
was ultimately replaced by another regime, but this this regime and its leadership
were anti American. The new regime was a

Puma Concolor Essay
The stability of Felidae Puma Concolor can only be ensured with the enforcement of
legislation targeted to transform highways and human residences; the fractioning of
puma territory in California is detrimental to the species. The Felidae Puma Concolor
is known by many names cougar, puma, mountain lion, the cat is often mistaken for a
bobcat.
Hypothesis: The highways which cut through the great forest and mountain ranges of
California are a large contributor to the population of California s Mountain Lions
due to the division of natural environmental habitats. Human communities also play a
role in Mountain Lion population stunts because human neighborhoods are ever
expanding.
An approximate number of 100 200 California Pumas are killed a year. This

Puma leaves the territory of the mother to find their own for food purposes. The
young Pumas do not do well in locating home range territories near by because
older male lions preoccupy them, thus the young adult puma is sent to edges of

Mountain Lion near a town or city leads to panic and over reaction ending with the

Argumentative Essay On Drinking Milk
You always hear your mom or dad say, Drink your milk, so you can get stronger!
but is milk really making you strong, or is it actually hurting you? Scientists say,
Dairy consumption can play a role in asthma, Parkinson s disease, and highly
elevated blood pressure. Dairy is highly inflammatory, causing issues like bloating,
gas, constipation, diarrhea, and acne. When you drink milk, you are actually
consuming far more than just milk. American dairy farmers have long been
injecting cows with a genetically engineered bovine growth hormone called rBGH
to increase milk production(MindBodyGreen), So what are you really putting in
your body that according to your parents makes you Big and Strong ? In this
paper, I tell you the truth about the three most common dairy products that just
might leave you speechless. Dairy consumption can lead to fatal diseases. The
average amount of serving you pay per gallon is 25 cents. Why are you paying that
if it s so unhealthy? Over the years, scientist and nutritionist have created lactose
free, dairy free, and soy free milk. A popular brand that we often consume is Silk. It
s free of all of soy, lactose, and dairy. Milk isn t unhealthy, in fact milk is very
healthy, but the dairy in the milk isn t. As this text stated, Milk Intake and Risk of
Mortality and Fractures in Women and Men, researchers following more than
100,000 men and women in Sweden for about 20 years found significantly higher
rates of bone and hip fractures,
The Benefits Of Potato Farms
Yukon Gold, Idaho Russet, Yams, Fingerling, Reds, and Sweet. These are some of
the potato varieties most often found in stores. There are thousands more varieties,
but a large majority aren t commonly known, especially to most Oregonians.
Potatoes are all over, but potato farms are scarce in Oregon. Oregon farmers should
strive to expand and increase the variety of potatoes grown in Oregon to locally
produce a healthier, more cost efficient potato. Having potatoes grown in Oregon
would make the product healthier from lack of GMO s. The potatoes would be
grown here, so they wouldn t need to be shipped very far. This would reduce the
amount of chemicals put into the potatoes meant to preserve the physical
appearance. By reducing the chemicals, this would be making the potato much
healthier for consumers. In Making a Visual Argument: Apples to Oranges, it
compares the different distances food in Canada had to travel, when producing
local and transporting from a distant farm. The distance food traveled from a local
farm in Colborne to a farm in Toronto, in miles, was nearly 20 times less б·ѕthan
transporting from a farm in Orange County (Ironside 646 7). By producing food in
Orange County, then transporting it to Canada, the large amount of chemicals
needed to preserve the freshness, would be decreasing the healthiness of the potato
and increasing the price for consumers.

The Invasion Of Japan Into China
The Japanese and Chinese have always had disputes with one another, and one of the
biggest reasons for the Chinese and Japanese hating each other is the Invasion of
Japan into China. It began with Japan invading and occupying Manchuria causing the
hatred between the two countries to grow immensely.
According to the New World encyclopedia, what made matter worse, was that China
was at war with itself, the war was between the Chinese Nationalist Party and the
Chinese Communist Party. Sun Yat sen dies in 1925, soon after, commander in chief
Chiang Kai Shek of the National Army set out on an expedition to the North. This
expedition was an effort to exterminate the commanders of the war and as well as
feudalism. However, when a year passes, in 1926, the Nationalist Party had divided
into left and right factions where communism had begun to grow from the inside out.
After many disputes, on April 7, 1927, Chiang and other nationalist had decided to
hold a meeting where they had decided the communist were being socially and
economically disruptive. They would then join together in order to suppress them
and keep the national revolution ongoing. Hence on April 12, Nationalist leader
Chiang commenced an expulsion of the communist in the Shanghai area, leading to
the execution and arrest of hundreds of communist members. This became known as
the Shanghai Massacre , enraged, the communist would attempt to conquer cities
such as Changsha, Guangzhou, Nanchang, and Shantou. After many
Essay on Critique Of death Of The Author
Critique of quot;Death of the Author quot;
The title to the story quot; The Death of an Author, quot; by Roland Barthes,
suggests this story may be a fictional novel about the story of an author s death.
Perhaps one might pick it up, and skim the foreword in hopes that beneath the cover
of this book there would be a mystery, a story of detectives, eye witnesses, clues, and
a puzzle for the reader to solve. Before I read this story, the title quot; The Death of an
Author quot; brought to my imagination the biography of a writer slowly drinking
himself to death trying to finish the story of his life, but the author would be stuck
and depressed because his life is not a story as it is boring and repetitive. ... Show

I came to this conclusion after reading
quot; The Death of an Author quot; for the fourth or fifth time. I began to wonder
why does this man write this way? What caused him to have so much distrust toward
the critics? Those are the thoughts he was trying to persuade us not to think.
Barthes wanted the author of the story to be no more than a name printed on the
top or front of a book. Throughout the story quot;The Death of an Author, quot;
Barthes refers to the author as a scriptor in stating quot;Succeeding the Author, the
scriptor no longer bears within him passions, humors, feelings, impressions but
rather this immense dictionary from which he draws a writing that can know no
halt. quot; Barthes announces that a scriptor is superior to an author but they are
the same. Now if a scriptor is superior to an author this passage drags on and on,
never circulating around a single point. A scriptor does not try to make art of the
two hundred and fifty five symbols placed in front of him. A scriptor arranges the
symbols in an order that once decoded can be read back and can convey whatever
message the scriptor recorded. Barthes reveals his knowledge of this in writing,
quot;Once the author is removed, the claim to decipher a text becomes quite futile.
To give a text an Author is to impose a limit on that text, to furnish it with a final
signified, to close the writing. quot;

Shooting An Elephant George Orwell Essay.pdf

  • 1. Shooting An Elephant George Orwell Essay Crafting an essay on George Orwell's "Shooting an Elephant" can be a challenging endeavor. The complexity lies not only in understanding the nuanced themes and literary devices employed by Orwell but also in the intricate exploration of colonialism, power dynamics, and moral dilemmas presented in the essay. To start, one must delve into Orwell's personal experiences as a colonial officer in Burma, deciphering the layers of his internal conflict as he grapples with the expectations of his role and his moral compass. Unraveling the symbolism behind the elephant and dissecting the allegorical elements adds another layer of intricacy to the analysis. Furthermore, the essay demands a keen ability to navigate Orwell's narrative style, which seamlessly blends personal anecdotes with broader societal reflections. Balancing a critical examination of the text while drawing connections to historical contexts and Orwell's broader body of work requires a thorough understanding of literary analysis techniques. The task is not only to summarize but to illuminate the underlying messages and provocations woven into Orwell's prose. Formulating a thesis that captures the essence of the essay and substantiating it with well-reasoned arguments adds to the intellectual challenge. In essence, crafting an essay on "Shooting an Elephant" requires not just the ability to articulate ideas coherently but also a deep engagement with Orwell's thought-provoking narrative. In this paper we will discuss the problems presented with this and the potential solutions to these problems using existing and some futuristic technology. We have broke this into two main parts, one being earth to satellite to planet and back, and the other being planetary ground transmission to and from astronauts to rovers to space stations. The solution has already started being implemented and will continue rapidly into the near future. It is called the Interplanetary Internet. On the earth we are only separated from one another by fractions of a second. From earth to mars the average transmission time is 30 45 minutes. That would feel like light years trying to download tracks to your iPod. In order to make this work a massive system of satellites needs to be implemented. These satellites will serve as net gateways with the purpose of conveying data packets. Each piece of equipment will have its own IPN address, or .mars domain name. They will serve as nodes, operating on a packet switched network. Some major possible problems include lag, weak signal, and reduced bandwidth. The solution to all of these lies in a new IPN protocol being developed. This protocol, along with high precision equipment, will help to eliminated all of these. The protocol has changed in two major ways from our own TCP/IP protocol. This first is a packet delivery scheme that won t clog the system by resending missing packets. IPN instead keeps track of arriving packets and then requesting missing ones at the end of delivery. The second is the packet headers will use only one tenth as much bandwidth as TCP/IP. Back on earth there will be gateways to translate. Another big problem with the Interplanetary Internet is speed. Using our current technology the top speed for sending data from a satellite orbiting mars to earth is 250 kbps. Down on mars, in a dusty unknown atmosphere with not much power, this is more like 10 kbps. The solution

APPRAISAL OF THE NURSING/HEALTH MODEL A nursing model is a concept, or an idea, often described as being like building blocks. Newton (1991) describes nursing models as being a mental picture of nursing . They originated in the US in the 1960s with an aim of describing what nurses do, and today there are many of them for nurses to follow. They are made up of 4 concepts, which consist of, the patient, their health, their environment and nursing care. The role of models in nursing practice is to give direction or guidance (Akinsanya, Cox, Crouch and Fletcher 1994), or to form a basis for nurses to base their practice. If a team of nurses can agree on a particular model, then the advantages can lead to: 1. Consistency and continuity of care and care patterns and treatments; 2. • 18. Analysis Of The Last Night That She Lived The poem by Emily Dickinson entitled the The Last Night That She Lived is about the death of a family member. The death was rather expected as it seems. The reason we know this is because the whole family was already gathered in order to be there when she passed. Dickinson was labeled as a dark and morbid writer in her time. In the poem The Last Night That She Lived, we get to experience the sadness, grief, and even spirituality of Dickinson s feelings when dealing with her experiences of death. We are immediately made aware at the beginning of the poem that there is nothing out of place about this day except that they lost a family member. Dickinson was letting it be known that while the rest of the world continued as usual, they sat there in a room watching one of their suffering family members take her last breath. Death makes life different somehow. As Dickinson states, this to Us Made Nature Different (lines 3,4), she tells us that when her family member died it changed them. This poem shows the raw emotion of sadness and the effect of grief overtaken her in just 6 short stanzas. In this poem Dickinson makes the reader aware that death is an everyday event but can change the lives of the ones that are the closest to that person. When death becomes a reality the family seems to realize that the smaller things are very important, We noticed the smaller things Things overlooked before/ By this great light upon our Minds Italicized as twere (lines 5,6,7,8). The things that everyday people do not slow down to see, become significant when the realization comes that there is someone that will not get to enjoy those same small things. Dickinson talks about the house were the family member lays dying in like it is unfair that people will continue to live in it. She shows a brief sign of being angry that people will continue to dwell in the same place that her loved one has passed away in. As we went out and in/ Between Her final Room/ And Rooms where Those to be alive/ Tomorrow were, a Blame (lines 9,10,11,12) It makes the house seem more like a simple passage way only used for entering and exits. It takes the idea of it actually being someone s home away from the poem. The reader starts to see

  • 41. Anaylsis of the Studies in Galaions by Tom Wacaster Essay... The book, Studies in Galatians, by Tom Wacaster was an excellent study and very well put together. I felt he did a great job gathering others together to elaborate on some of the main points from this book. From the beginning, the author let you know, in the introduction a specific direction he was aiming toward even though the introduction seem to be a bit long. However, after I looked at it upon completion of reading, I appreciated it more than when I read it the first time. When you take second look, it made me understand the reading better. Moreover, the flow of the book was well organized, with the outlineof the whole book coming after the introduction, and the remainder of the book broken down verse by verse, which brings the... Next, as we graduate to Chapter Two, I m guilty of looking for those quotes by men. The book has almost become predictable, yet bearable. I don t know if it was by design, but those quotes or writings Wacaster would interject in this book were a breath of fresh air. They seem to go outside the box unlike the writer. I have to give him a lot of credit for assembling a great team and making this book very interesting. In addition, I noticed Wacaster would take a time out and take notice of some very important facts about what was just written, which was also very helpful in making this book better to understand. This was done in outline form to make more sense of what was just read and lets me know as a reader of his material that he sincerely wants readers to understand what they are reading. Perhaps, it could be to that he was honing a very elite skilled that he picked up from the Brown Trail School of Preaching known as sermon outlines. However, something else that stuck out with me from Chapter Two is The Riddle of Having Been Crucified With Christ. This riddle uncharacteristically has four points similarly to a sermon outline, which I can truly say was very well thought out and put together. I intend on including the four point riddle in my future

There are thousands more varieties, but a large majority aren t commonly known, especially to most Oregonians. Potatoes are all over, but potato farms are scarce in Oregon. Oregon farmers should strive to expand and increase the variety of potatoes grown in Oregon to locally produce a healthier, more cost efficient potato. Having potatoes grown in Oregon would make the product healthier from lack of GMO s. The potatoes would be grown here, so they wouldn t need to be shipped very far. This would reduce the amount of chemicals put into the potatoes meant to preserve the physical appearance. By reducing the chemicals, this would be making the potato much healthier for consumers. In Making a Visual Argument: Apples to Oranges, it compares the different distances food in Canada had to travel, when producing local and transporting from a distant farm. The distance food traveled from a local farm in Colborne to a farm in Toronto, in miles, was nearly 20 times less б·ѕthan transporting from a farm in Orange County (Ironside 646 7). By producing food in Orange County, then transporting it to Canada, the large amount of chemicals needed to preserve the freshness, would be decreasing the healthiness of the potato and increasing the price for consumers. The Invasion Of Japan Into China The Japanese and Chinese have always had disputes with one another, and one of the biggest reasons for the Chinese and Japanese hating each other is the Invasion of Japan into China. It began with Japan invading and occupying Manchuria causing the hatred between the two countries to grow immensely. • 48. Essay on Critique Of death Of The Author Critique of quot;Death of the Author quot; The title to the story quot; The Death of an Author, quot; by Roland Barthes, suggests this story may be a fictional novel about the story of an author s death. Perhaps one might pick it up, and skim the foreword in hopes that beneath the cover of this book there would be a mystery, a story of detectives, eye witnesses, clues, and a puzzle for the reader to solve. Before I read this story, the title quot; The Death of an Author quot; brought to my imagination the biography of a writer slowly drinking himself to death trying to finish the story of his life, but the author would be stuck and depressed because his life is not a story as it is boring and repetitive. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I came to this conclusion after reading quot; The Death of an Author quot; for the fourth or fifth time. I began to wonder why does this man write this way? What caused him to have so much distrust toward the critics? Those are the thoughts he was trying to persuade us not to think. Barthes wanted the author of the story to be no more than a name printed on the top or front of a book. Throughout the story quot; The Death of an Author, quot; Barthes refers to the author as a scriptor in stating quot;Succeeding the Author, the scriptor no longer bears within him passions, humors, feelings, impressions but rather this immense dictionary from which he draws a writing that can know no halt. quot; Barthes announces that a scriptor is superior to an author but they are the same. Now if a scriptor is superior to an author this passage drags on and on, never circulating around a single point. A scriptor does not try to make art of the two hundred and fifty five symbols placed in front of him. A scriptor arranges the symbols in an order that once decoded can be read back and can convey whatever message the scriptor recorded. Barthes reveals his knowledge of this in writing, quot;Once the author is removed, the claim to decipher a text becomes quite futile. To give a text an Author is to impose a limit on that text, to furnish it with a final signified, to close the writing. quot; I
