When it comes to the security of a state, more traditional perspectives place security
of the state above the security of its people. A direct opposition would be a less
traditional perspective that the state should protect its most valuable asset, the people.
Before comparing human security topics and traditional securitytopics, both must be

causes mass tension. In the most basic of definitions, human security is keeping the

The History of prisons goes through many eras. Many of these eras have a major
impact on today s prison system. The different was that the system worked and didn
t work really showed what was possibly and what should not be tried again. Each era
tried to do something new are recreate something that had already been done by
making changes to the way that they treated the inmates all the way to how they were
housed and how much contact they had with one another. The different eras gave the
present day prison system many great things to think about. Such as large capacity
housing so you can properly use all the space in the prison and hold it to capacity.
There is also the parole system that gives inmates a chance to work get out early and
spend the rest of their sentence on the outside. These many great traits that the prison

filled with explosives collided with a Norwegian ship (SS Imo). A fire started on
the Norwegian ship, and after 20 minutes the fire became uncontrollable, soon
spreading to Mont Blanc, igniting the explosives and causing a very large
explosion. The blast killed approximately 2000 people, injuring about 9000, and
leaving over 25000 people with no shelter. The explosion took place on December
6th in the Narrows, a strait connecting the upper Halifax Harbour to Bedford Basin.
The blast s effect was mostly in the Richmond district, but it affected other spots
like Dartmouth and the Tufts Cove area. The blast even shattered windows in
