A Man For All Seasons By Robert Bolt
The book A Man for All Seasons, by Robert Bolt is a play written to teach us a few important
lessons about life. He wrote A Man for All Seasons in 1960, and the play was mounted on the
London stage that same year and in New York in 1961. The themes that Bolt uses in writing this
play are moral values, self, friendship, and corruption. Moral values are when a character respects
his own opinion about something. Self and friendship are the relationships built between characters
and how that affects the play. Overall, the most important theme of this play is corruption.
Corruption is dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in power, typically involving bribery.
Throughout the play, Bolt incorporates corruption in many ways and through many characters.
Some characters that Bolt expresses corruption in is Richard Rich, Matthew, and William Roper.
The main character in the play is Thomas More, an English lawyer, social philosopher, author,
statesman, and for a short period of time, Lord Chancellor of England. Thomas More is viewed
as saint like by the people that new him. More is given the responsibility to decide whether or
not King Henry VIII and his wife Catherine could get a divorce. King Henry was allowed to get
married to Catherine, even though she was his brother s wife, because the judge bent the rules for
him. King Henry is now asking for a divorce because he wants to birth a male child, which
Catherine can not give him. While this is happening, Richard Rich is Thomas

Ogden Nature Center Research Paper
The Ogden Nature Center is located off of Twelfth Street in Ogden, Utah. The main goal of the
nature center is to educate, people in the surrounding area, about the nature that exists in Weber
County. It is set on 152 acres in the middle of the city (Third Sun Productions). There are many
things people can do when they visit the center.
The staff has live exhibits that allows its visitors to get a little closer to nature where otherwise
they probably would not be able to. There is a 1.5 mile trail that can take visitors around the park
as well as a spotting tower that allows visitors to see animals in their natural habitat, such as the
many mule deer that call the nature center home (Third Sun Productions). The center and staff
would like the population of Utah to know more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It required us to carefully remove the invasive plant species that inhabits the Nature Center. There
are certain types of plants that are very harmful to the wildlife and the ecosystem at the center.
Most of these plants are not native to the Nature Center and come from places like Europe. They
has a potential to damage the habitat and poison the animals that live there and call it home. Many
of the invasive plants will repopulate no matter how much you try to clear them out because they
have seeds that spread, so it becomes a vicious cycle that the Nature Center faces every year.
The Nature Center has also been affected by the lack of water Utah has had in the past few
years. There is a pond on the premises called Avocet pond that has almost dried out. We were
assigned to help with the restoration of this pond, so that one day it will become as beautiful as the
rest of the park. As part of the restoration project we also removed many different species which
included Phragmites, Russian olive, and Russian thistle (Tumbleweed). These types of invasive
plants ruin the pond and the animals that live

The History Of Howard Hughes Aircraft Company
Howard Hughes was a successful Hollywood movie producer when he founded the Hughes
Aircraft Company in 1932. He personally tested cutting edge aircraft of his own design and in
1937 broke the transcontinental flight time record. In 1938, he flew around the world in a
record three days, 19 hours, and 14 minutes. Following the U.S. entrance into World War II in
1941, the U.S. government commissioned the Hughes Aircraft Company to build a large flying
boat capable of carrying men and materials over long distances. Because of wartime restrictions
on steel, Hughes decided to build his aircraft out of wood laminated with plastic and covered
with fabric, and they had a wingspan of 320 feet and was powered by eight giant propeller
engines. Development of the Spruce Goose cost a phenomenal $23 million and took so long that
the war had ended by the time of its completion in 1946. The aircraft had many detractors, and
Congress demanded that Hughes prove the plane airworthy. On November 2, 1947, Hughes
obliged, taking the prototype out into Long Beach Harbor, CA for an unannounced flight test.
Thousands of onlookers had come to watch the aircraft taxi on the water and were surprised when
Hughes lifted his wooden behemoth 70 feet above the water and flew for a mile before landing....

Nevertheless, Howard Hughes, who became increasingly eccentric and withdrawn after 1950,
refused to neglect what he saw as his greatest achievement in the aviation field. From 1947 until
his death in 1976, he kept the Spruce Goose prototype ready for flight in an enormous, climate
controlled hangar at a cost of $1 million per year. Today, the Spruce Goose is housed at the
Evergreen Aviation Museum in McMinnville,

Introversion In The Mid-17th Century
In the seventeen years that I ve been alive, I have relished spending my days in a very particular
manner. Alone. And that s not to say that spending time with my closest friends has never brought
me pleasure; our late nights at wrestling competitions, playing video games, just shooting the
breeze are some of my most enjoyable memories. It s just that there s something soothing about
solitary reading, quiet introspection, and exercising alone toward which I gravitate. According to
my mom it s because she didn t arrange enough playdates for me when I was a little kid. It may
just be that I was born predestined to have an inclination towards solitude, like some puritanical
hermit. But regardless of the reasons for my social preferences, what... Show more content on

Be it rappers, outspoken politicians, flamboyant actors, or any number of outgoing personas,
Americans admire individuals for their attention commanding qualities. To quote Susan Cain, a
former corporate lawyer, and Tedx acknowledged authority on introversion, shyness implies
submissiveness. And in a competitive culture that reveres alpha dogs, one downmanship is
probably the most damning trait of all. THAT is why I find it so important to separate the concept
of introversion from shyness: To dispel any notion of weakness, to deny any perception of social
disadvantage, and to debunk the idea that introverts are in any way incapable of being functional
members of society. After all, I m a living contradiction to that

Government Intervention In The Market System
Discuss the case for and against government intervention in an economy.
In most of the countries, the government has intervened in the market system. To some extent there
is a dire need of government intervention in the market system, although there is a debate over this
point among the economists. Many economists believe that the role of government intervention
improves the market system. The government can easily enforce the rules that can help in the
smooth functioning of the market system. On the other hand, there are economists who believe that
government interventions in a market system are the reason of inefficiency in the system.
There are some goods that underprovided and underconsumed. Such goods are cold merit goods.

Information failure occurs when people have inaccurate, incomplete, uncertain or misunderstood
data and so make potentially wrong choices. Government action can have a role in improving
information to help consumers and producers value the true cost and/or benefit of a good or
service. Examples might include: * Compulsory labeling on cigarette packages with health
warnings to reduce smoking * Improved nutritional information on foods to counter the risks of
growing obesity * Anti speeding television advertising to reduce road accidents and advertising
campaigns to raise awareness of the risks of drink driving * Advertising health screening
programmes / information campaigns on the dangers of addiction
Another advantage of government intervention is the national minimum wage. The national
minimum wage was introduced into the UK in 1999. It is an intervention in the labour market
designed to increase the pay of lower paid workers and thereby influence the distribution of income
in society. In October 2005, the value of the minimum wage for adults was ВЈ5.05 following a
series of small increases over recent years.
The main aims of the minimum wage 1. The equity justification: That every job should offer a fair
rate of pay commensurate with the skills and experience of an employee 2. Labour market
incentives: The NMW is designed to improve the incentives for people to start looking for work
thereby

Stem cells are at the center of a new field of science...
Stem cells are at the center of a new field of science called regenerative medicine. Stem cells are
unique cells that are unspecialized and have the ability to proliferate and develop into many
different cell types by forming more daughter cells, which become new stem cells or
differentiate to become specialized cells. They have the potential to treat diseases, such as
Parkinson s, diabetes and cancer. They may be used to rejuvenate organs, reducing the need for
organ transplants. The discovery of stem cells is a rapid progressing field in medicine and
research. Stem cells come from several origins in the body and are capable of surviving over long
periods. They are most commonly; adult stem cells, human embryonic stem cells and induced...

For induced pluripotent stem cells, viruses are currently used to introduce embryonic genes and
have been shown to cause cancers in mouse studies, which may be harmful for human. Embryonic
stem cells might trigger an immune response, whereby, the recipient s body attacks the stem cells
as foreign invaders, or fail to function typically. It is imperative for researches to clarify and tackle
ethical issues to ensure that the uses of stem cells are accepted by the community. It is important
that scientists pursue stem cell research while treasuring lives. Stem cell therapy advocates the
reparative response of diseased, dysfunctional or injured tissue using stem cells. Regenerative
medicine holds the promise of ways to repair cardiovascular damage and improved cancer
treatment. Stem cells are used to treat leukemia, some joint repairs and repair the liver. The adult
stem cells used to treat autism comes from the human umbilical cord tissue. The role of stem cell
therapies has brought the success level of scientists higher as they are soon to discover treatments
for more diseases. Research on stem cells continues to advance knowledge about how healthy cells
reinstate damaged cells in adult organisms. The potential for future medical use is promising
because stem cell research is a highly engrossing area of contemporary biology that is leading to a
changing landscape in healthcare. However, much work

Leon Trotsky Change
Change can be made at any point and can be made to anything. However, to initiate change an
action must take place. Such action has to have force strong enough for the change to be heard,
seen, and dealt with. Such an action is war. Leon Trotsky said war is the locomotive of history. He
was stating that war is a catalyst for change. Trotsky was a communist who helped to ignite the
Russian Revolution of 1917. Trotsky believed in Marxism, a belief that change had to be
revolutionary. [Leon Trotsky Biography] The idea of Marxism is present in his quote. He believes
that war is what impetus change. The ideas for change behind Trotsky s were ones of communism.

Michael Jordan Vs James
Has anyone ever asked you, who is better Michael Jordan or LeBron James? and you do not know
what to say because, in your eyes, they are of equal talent. The statistical evidence and statements
from players around the league will show who truly the better player is. The common argument
made between the two is that Michael Jordanhas six championship rings and LeBron James only
has two. Jordan never lost in a finals and James has lost four. Jordan never had to play in a game
seven. Those are all valid reason on why Michael Jordan is better than LeBron James but let s take

Jordan never was shy in making it known he wanted the ball when the game is on the line. Even
though LeBron has hit his fair share of game winners or go ahead baskets he has passed up
multiple shots at the end of the game to give a teammate that shot. Maybe he does not have the
same killer instinct or maybe he just does not have the confidence. Either way he shies away
from the ball when the game is on the line. Jordan played a more strategical game while James
was usually the bigger person in his matchups and just put his head down and went to the basket.
Jordan also has played an infamous game while being sick known as the flu game . This game
was a in the middle of the 1997 NBA Finals while the series was tied up at two games. (Zach
Harper) He went out and scored thirty five points helping his team to take a game lead on the

with a thigh cramp. He left the game early in the fourth quarter but then returned to hit a quick
basket to put the Heat with in two points and five minutes left to play. (Royce Young) After the
basket he immediately called to the bench for help to be carried off the court. The team then
crumbled and lost the game fifteen points. (Royce Young) This game set the tone for the series and

Effects Of Monster In Night By Elie Wiesel
How do monsters affect people? Monsters can affect people in many different ways. Monsters
can come in many different shapes, sizes and thoughts. Some monsters can be other people, but
some can be the thought of something awful happening or losing faith. In the book Night by Elie
Wiesel, him and his family are being targeted by the Nazis because they are Jewish. They are
taken to concentration camps and split apart from each other. In the book Pure by Julianna
Baggott, Pressia seems to have little hope that she will survive through her 16th birthday and
escape OSR. Later in the book, Pressia gets captured by OSR, but during the capture she meets her
half brother Partridge and they make it out alive. Many modern atrocities and genocides can... Show

The German soldiers also known as Nazi, raided towns were the Jews were living and started
deporting them to concentration camps. They were crammed into cattle cars and separated
from family. Elie says, What s more, if I felt anger at that moment it was not directed at the Kapo
but at my father. Why couldn t he have avoided Idek s wrath? That was what life in
concentration camp had made of me... (54). Basically, Elie is mad at his father because he had
to fight with Idek, knowing how powerful he was. This proves the topic sentence because Elie s
father feared what would happen if he did not stand up for himself. Elie says, I woke from my
apathy only when two men approached my father. I threw myself on his body. He wa cold. I
slapped him. I rubbed his hands, crying: Father! Father! Wake up. They re going to throw you
outside... (99). Thus, Elie feared what would happen if he was left alone and his father was
dead. It supports what is stated in my topic sentence because the fear was being too weak to
carry on and being killed by the Nazi soldiers. Elie overcame the monsters because no matter how
hard life got in the concentration camp he never stopped fighting. Elie was very successful
because he made it out alive, even when he had foot problems, he never let anything hold him
back. In the book Night, there is fear of what might happen, but in the end no one gave up until

Analysis Of The Goophered Grapevine By Charles Chesnutte
Charles Chesnutt s Writings for Social and Political Change Charles Chesnutt was a well known
African American author who was known for his short stories that conveyed racist African
American dialect and conveyed his wishes for equality and social and political change for African
Americans. The purpose of this paper is to delve into Chesnutt s short storyThe Goophered
Grapevine to define the way Chesnutt manipulated his audience and worked towards white
sympathy for the black community. Chesnutt knew that if he attempted his goal with his white
audience s knowledge, they would resist and he would therefore be unsuccessful. Therefore,
Chesnutt needed to disguise the motive of the story so he could affect his audience without their
knowledge of his manipulation. Chesnutt did so through the use of storytelling with three
characters that served to show the three sides of the racial divide. Through the use of storytelling,
Chesnutt used the three main characters in The Goophered Grapevine as a whole to represent and
show the different sides of the racial divide and manipulate his audience into sympathizing with the
black society in order for social and political change; Uncle Julius functioned as the storyteller as
well as the black society, John functioned as the white side of the community who resisted change,
and Annie functioned as the side of the white community that sympathized with the black
community and sought political and social change for the black community.

How to Overcome a Fear of Change Essay example
Thought processes and relationship dynamics are fundamental if change is to be successful.
(Lynco Assoc.) People fear change because it pushes them out of their comfort zone. One of the
greatest fears in the world is the fear of the unknown. Although fear can create a large amount of
energy in a person, you can choose to use that energy in a positive manner and take control of the
situation. Focus on your convictions; be confident in your abilities and be proud of the work that
you do. Do not allow insecurities to damage your focus. Only you can set your moral compass.

Encourage an open dialog with your workers about any concerns they may have about their
responsibilities and performance; respect their privacy and do not postpone giving praise; make
your employees feel they are part of the system by asking for suggestions or solutions. If you
apply these changes consistently, they will reap rewards in the way your workers perform and the
way they perceive you. People want to be treated honestly and fairly. Even if there is bad news
concerning the company, share that with your employees as soon as possible. Do not let them hear
it on the street. The proverbial grapevine is very efficient. through the media. The more your
employees know they can trust and respect you, the better a company you will have (Sykes. n.d.).
The intrinsic rewards of a project are often more important than the material rewards and
recognition. I think there is more value in trying to engage people than reward them (Sky. N.d.).
The word reward implies a hierarchy and you would not reward a superior. You would not reward
a friend. You reward those beneath you and thus a reward is a subtle reminder of their position.
If you really want to your staff to put out their best efforts, do not try to do so by buying their
enthusiasm.
I think it is a mark of a leader to encourage feedback from his reports. Make it an opportunity for
exchange of information and ideas and you may be surprised. You may have an employee who

From this position, you must complete your pitch and concentrate on firing your hips, swinging
down your arm, snapping your wrist then finally, throwing the pitch to your teammate.
Remember that there are three things that every good pitcher must possess: accuracy, speed and
movement. While others say it is important to focus on speed and movement, others will also
agree that accuracy should not be left behind. It is when you are able to strike as a pitcher and
deliver the ball wherever you want it to be.
When you are working with your speed and accuracy in fastpitch, there are a lot more things to
consider. These factors include the amount of snap you ll exert when you release the ball, your arm
speed and velocity and how well you are able to use your lower body. Likewise, you should also be
able to change speed and do it well.
Aside from trying these and other pitching drills, you must know how to drive with your legs and
hips to create powerful and positive movements. Accuracy drills will require you to hit certain
spots, regardless of the pitch you make. Moreover, having a good grip of the ball is another
important thing. Apparently, you can master these tips and techniques with constant practice and

domain names, which were registered outside of US, have encountered various implications for
multiple reasons. Firstly, although these websites are registered in a country other than the US,
they are subjected to US law despite the fact that the registrar might be living in a country with

It is clear that the online gaming industry is legal under international law and in the case of these
documents it is also clear that the rule of law was not allowed to slow down a rush to try to win
the war of public opinion. This quotation explains the US internet jurisdiction precisely.
Bodog.com did not accept any US bettors and had restricted access to US citizens and the US
has no connections with this website. Online gaming is legal in many international countries
and this clearly shows the unnecessary abuse of power by the US. If this case had been judged
prior to this change in approach, Ayre would have been found not guilty and Bodog.com would
still be up and running. Moreover, not only can the US seize a website, but it can also make the
registrar of the website stand trial in the US, if the authorities of the registrar s country decide not
to act. This occurred with Richard O Dwyer, a twenty three year old United Kingdom (UK)
resident, created tvshack.net, a website which hosted links to pirated material, but did not host the

Headlines Sylvia Plath
Esther has seen or done many things that represent her and show how she has affected those
around her. Although there are many other examples, the headlines Joan mentions in chapter 16
are a prime example of how Esther has affected people even those who are strangers. The
headlines symbolize Esther s exposure to the world and her impact on them. Plath developed
the headlines by using Joan to be the person to show them to Esther and explain to her how she
had heard of her while she was gone. Esther thinks that she is very secluded from the rest of the
world and she only sees the pain and darkness in her story. But what she does not see is that she
is very exposed to the world and that other people see a sensual story of a young woman who
struggles to be herself. After Esther reads the headlines she finally realizes this. She realizes that
she inspires others and that maybe she can inspire herself too. Maybe to even better herself and
finally break free from society. Although Plath does not gradually develop the headlines throughout
the story, she still manages to make it a meaningful and important symbol.... Show more content on

funded these early expeditions. Over time, as it became clear that global exploration was
extremely profitable, European states took on a primary role. The next phase of exploration
involved voyages taken in the name of a particular empire and monarch (e.g., France or Spain).
The Iberian empires of Spain and Portugal were some of the earliest states to embark on new
voyages of exploration. In addition to seeking luxury goods, the Spanish empire was driven by its
quest for American silver. The age of European exploration and discovery represented a new period

The Consequences Of Bonnie And Clyde
Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow were two of the most notorious criminals of the 1930 s. Known
for robbery, murder and kidnapping the two spent most of their criminal career hiding and running
from law enforcement. They encountered many different people on the run, some of which became
accomplice s others became victims. The movie Bonnie and Clydeis a basic interpretation of the
events that led up to the gruesome killings of the couple.
It started January 5th, 1930 when Bonnie and Clyde first met at a mutual friend s house
(Browder). At the time of their fateful meeting, Bonnie was already married to Roy Thornton,
who was at the time serving a five year sentence in prison (Strickland). They grew close in a
short period of time and soon later Clyde was arrested on charges of burglary and went to jail. A
short time later, by smuggling Clyde a gun in his jail cell, Bonnie helped him escape. However,
it was not long after that he was arrested again, he went back to jail and was sentenced to two
years. However, he only remained there for several months until he was released on general
parole because of his mothers pleading with the governor (Guinn). Ironically just before he was to
be released, a fellow convict in the same facility was asked by Clyde to chop of two of his toes in
order to escape the difficult work detail. (Mcgasko). By 1932, Bonnie and Clyde were together
again and began their crime spree not long after. Clyde, Bonnie, and a few others started to rob small

What Is My Favorite Vacation Place Essay
Tawas
Sometimes getting away from your home for a vacation is much needed for the mind and soul.
For me, my favorite vacation place is the beautiful tourist city of Tawas, Michigan. My first
exciting visit to Tawas was when I was ten years old. Since then, it has been an annual family
trip. My favorite place in the city of Tawas is my Aunt Debbie and Uncle Danny s cabin that
overlooks Lake Huron. They kindly allow us to stay there each summer. The creaking floors and
squeaky swing on the lakefront gives it special qualities to show the years of love families have
experienced there. I have many treasured memories at this special location. It bring smells, feelings,
thoughts, and emotions that are just what I need to refresh my mind and soul. Over the years, Tawas
has become my favorite summer location because of the beautiful sites of the lake, the soothing
sounds of the water, the old cabin, and the fun memories.
My favorite memory at Tawas is the long jet ski ride to a small island just off the tip of the bay. It
has a very old small white lighthouse and a sandy beach. Other treasured memories in Tawas
include nightly fires where my family sits around in lawn chairs and makes S mores with ... Show

I have quickly grown attached to the traditional old brown log cabin in the past eight years. I like
the traditional build of old logs, a stone fireplace, and two big windows overlooking the lake. As
I enter the cabin I can hear the creaking of the old original hardwood floor. It catches my eye with
the scratches and dents that give it character. My nose is tickled by the sweet smell of an old
musty cabin and campfire. I can feel the unique stress that the wooden walls have experienced over
the years. My mom says, If these walls could speak image what the stories they could

What Is John Bowlby Attachment Theory
Attachment theory. In 1958, John Bowlby proposed the idea of attachment theory (McLeod, 2009).
This theory identifies the infant s need to seek closeness and proximity with the caregiver when he
/she feels scared or threatened. The caregiver provides safety and security. The caregiver and infant
s relationship form four possible attachment styles: secure, avoidant, ambivalent/anxious, and
disorganized (McLeod, 2009). Secure attachment occurs when the caregiver meets the child s needs.
The child feels safe and secure. In contrast, avoidant attachment occurs when the caregiver is
emotionally avoidant, insensitive, and unaware of the child s needs. In this case, the child learns to
care for himself/herself. Avoidant attachment children become independent

The Need of Changing in Organizations
Organizations age, and grow seeking specific goals, while the organization constructs and
reconstructs a number of these organizations develop negative habits, and processes adapting to
changing circumstances. History and today s society has recognized that change is necessary to
meet the ever changing needs of the individuals and the environment. Today changes are
necessary to retain a competitive lead, or factors based on the economy. Change has never been
an easy process as resistance is always present, with impediments existing at all levels from the
organization as a whole down to individual staff members. The responsibility lies with the senior
managers to recognize the source and build a plan to remedy the resistance before it... Show more

Some individuals resist change for multiple reasons, and to add complexity, the stated reason hides
a more real personal reason. Initially the individuals experience denial, then realize that they cannot
ignore the change(s), and other feelings surface; such as anger, apprehension, frustration, and the
feeling of defenselessness. Individuals will either negatively accept the change with complacency
or resignation, or accept the change positively with enthusiasm for the new change(s). If any
individual is caught in a stage, leaders must offer reinforcement, and permitting the individual
space as the stage is worked through, and listen with empathy ( Resistance to change , n.d.).. The
proposed organizational change may influence the work habits developed by individuals and bad
habits are hard to break , but the bad habits have to be broken for the advancement of the
organization. The organizational change will bring individuals a feeling of insecurity and can
reveal itself in increased employee turnover and absenteeism and individuals may take an extreme
measure to avert changes from occurring (Akin, Dunford, Palmer, 2006). Then there are groups
within organizations may resist change, as groups tend to develop shared behaviors, and change
may possibly alter the group cultural dynamics disrupting

What I Learned in the Course of Spiritual Life and Growth
I have learned to live my life through trial and error; I believe mistakes should be accepted
without regret. I didn t always think in this manner, I originally was a perfectionist. I strived to
be the best at everything I did and it stunted my growth in life for quite some time. After I
understood the value of my life, I realized the key was to live genuinely; to live for a purpose
that was not only important to myself, but to others as well. I was not taught morality, I had to
learn it the hard way. The course, Spiritual Life and Growth, has taught me morality to some
extent. On the first week of attending Spiritual Life and Growth, I decided to take a break from
my commission based job for a few years; I understood the consequences if I did not sell I did
not earn. I began to cleanse myself, by answering the questions, Who am I? What do I love? I
was able to truly tap into myself: spiritually, and I understood I was forced to find a new career
path, because of the love I had for myself, and let go of my prior job. My career, of the past ten
years, has been extremely stressful, and is likely responsible for my high blood pressure
condition presently. I realized, I would lose business, and my current competitors would likely
collect commission checks on business I was supposed to earn. However, I made my schooling a
priority, and I accepted Autumn with open arms. In Let Your Life Speak: Listening For The Voice
Of Vocation , Parker J. Palmer (2000) stated Autumn

Examples Of The Kidnapping Of Charles Lindbergh Jr.
The Kidnapping of Charles Lindbergh Jr.
What man is so cold hearted to murder a baby just to try to acquire some money? Charles
Lindbergh Jr. was kidnapped in attempts to get some ransom money from his wealthy father, the
famous pilot Charles Lindbergh. The murder of the child almost seemed to be an accident and that
it was a slip up in the plan to kidnap the child. The man that all evidence points to and that was
convicted was Bruno Richard Hauptmann, but a man named John Knoll might have been the
mastermind behind the kidnapping and murder Charles Lindbergh Jr. The 20 month old baby,
Charles Lindbergh Jr., was murdered on the day of March 1, 1932. He had just been put to sleep
by his nurse, who was the last person to see the youngest child alive, when he was taken from his
crib in the nursery on the second floor ( Lindbergh Kidnapping ). His body was accidentally found
on May 12, 1932, half buried in the woods, 45 feet from a highway. The body s location was only
four and a half miles away from the Lindbergh estate. When Lindbergh Jr. s body was found, his
head was smashed, his skull had a hole in it, and was missing body members. The coroner s
examination placed the time of death about two months prior, placing the time of death in March,
the same time he was kidnapped ( Lindbergh Kidnapping ). After completing the report, it is
obvious that a deeper look into the unsolved murder is the next step. Nothing will be overlooked;
no information let slip between the cracks.

In the book animal farm the pigs end up acting like humans at the end, which was one of the

Throughout my years as a scholar I never quite enjoyed the process of summer work, especially
the summer reading aspect of it. There are multiple reasons on why I perhaps dread the work.
For one, I like to enjoy my summer without thoughts of school (though this was nearly
impossible being a rising senior), and I go through the process of forgetting school, by ignoring
my summer work up till the night before the first day of classes. However, this year I made an

Explaining the Three Stages in The Hero s Journey Essay
During the course of this World Literature class, several stories have been covered that accurately
describe Joseph Campbell s mono myth, or basic pattern found in narratives from every corner of
the world. The Hero s Journey in it s entirety has seventeen stages or steps, but if boiled down can
be described in three; the departure, the initiation, and the return (Monomyth Cycle). Each stage has
several steps, but the cycle describes the herostarting in his initial state, encountering something to
change him, and this his return as a changed person. To further explain this concept, there are a few
stories covered in this class that can be used. Beowulfis an epic poem telling the story of Beowulf, a
legendary Geatish hero who later... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, he removes any sort of advantage man might have over monster as he removes his gear
and weapons, fighting the monster truly mono a mono, hand to hand. So while Beowulf so far
h as followed the mono myth on it s major points (the three described earlier), in the finer details
he has deviated from the set path (Beowulf Study Guide). Beowulf s victory over Grendel should
be considered as crossing of the first threshold . Prior to his victory, Beowulf had only triumphed
over man. This victory over monster provides him with more (personal) glory, and causes a bit
of a dip into the next major step of the Hero s Journey, the initiation. Beowulf is interesting in
that he combines two distinct events into the initiation stage of the hero. The appointment as
king is the obvious choice for pinpointing the exact point of the story in which the hero
undergoes the greatest change, but really it is the entire time from after Grendel s death to when
Beowulf actually becomes king. His core character changes, a maturation from warrior to leader
possible only because of his trial and ability to overcome hardship and challenge. The seeds of a
true leader are planted however, and the reader begins to see the change from his focus on himself
and his glory, to that of his people. His focus will begin to switch to that of others, not just himself.
This however will take time to take root and really change his character. For the time

My Passion For Music
From day to day, I live trying to figure out my purpose of being in this world. No child is born a
mistake irrespective of the circumstances. I was born with a talent, although, yet to be discovered.
A talent is a symbol of who a person really is. When I was younger, my dad put me through music
school hoping that I would learn to play the pianobecause he wished he did when he was my age. I
was not a big fan of playing the piano so I struggled most of the time. My fingers were so stiff and
my instructor would request that I moisturize and massage them to make them more flexible.
However, the underlying issue was my lack of interest and not my un cooperating fingers.
For some, Music is a way to express how they feel. People see through a person with the sound of
music. Since I really had no interest in the piano, I decided to take a look at other instruments.
My passion for music was decreasing as I could not find an instrument that my hands found
pleasure in. A friend of mine said I should try the violin. She described it as a classical instrument
that soothes the soul. The first few weeks I learned how to play the violin, I started to get a hang of
it but as I played I would always dance. It was weird to my classmates but dancing with the sounds
the violin made me so happy.
One s interest typically leads one to one s talent eventually, one step at a time. This is evident from
a popular quote Talent can t be taught, but it can be awakened by Wallace Stegner.

1. In order to determine if I should use a template or custom build a site, I would evaluate the

The Taranaki War Was A War
The Taranaki war was a war that began in March 17 1860 and ended a year later, between the

that began in Waitara, Taranaki, and eventually spread out through the neighbouring areas of

Why Is Dr.Watson Important to Sherlock Holmes Essay
The classic mystery novel, Sherlock Holmes, features a murder mystery detective Sherlock Holmes,
and his army doctor colleague Dr. John Watson. The story revolves around the main character,
Sherlock Holmes, and his unique method to solving crimes. The story is mainly all about Sherlock
and his abilities, which then rises the question about the importance of the character of Dr.Watson,
both to the chaarcter of Sherlock Holmes, and towards the readers.
The first reason why Dr.Watson might be important to the character of Sherlock is because he
makes Sherlock more human . If you have ever seen a Sherlock movie, or TV show, the first thing
you would notice about Sherlock is his gigantic ego and shellfish attitude towards other people. He

That is where Dr.Watson also plays a part in. Dr.Watson does the boring work for Sherlock.
Dr.Watson would be guarding the door, or watching over the security cameras, meanwhile,
Sherlock would be out doing the dangerous stuff such as breaking into a secret laboratory or
going out in the woods at midnight. One example would be in the Sherlock BBC TV Show
episode The Hound of Baskerville , when Sherlock asked Dr.Watson to watch over the house and
the family, while Sherlock goes to investigate.
Dr.Watson does not only serve as a purpose towards Sherlock, but also towards the readers or
audiences. Many may not notice this, but in the Sherlock BBC TV Show, Dr.Watson takes notes
of the cases and posts them on his blog. So therefore, the Sherlock stories were written by
Dr.Watson. Without Dr.Watson s notes or blog, there would not be a Sherlock Holmes story to be
told.
Last but not least, Dr.Watson would be an important character towards the audience/readers,
because Dr.Watson will explain in everyday english, what Sherlock is saying. Sherlock often talks
to himself, and when he does figure a mystery out, he would just walk out the door and starts
speaking is accelerated gibberish. An example would be in the Sherlock book by Sir Arthur Conan
Doyle, the one titled The Boscombe Valley Mystery , out of the blue, Sherlock had already solved
the case. Inspector Lestrade and Dr.Watson were all very puzzled, and i think the readers must be

Johnny Demp Research Paper
Johnny Depp in Society
Nonconformity has made its mark on the world. Though it is not like everyone would think. It
has captured attention all over the world. Either how a person dresses or acts. This can vary in
many different ways. Johnny Depp is just one example of taking a strange role in society. From
being a musician to becoming a well known actor. Johnny Depp has a place of nonconformity by
the way he dresses, acts and participates in events in today s society.
Johnny Depp had a very rough childhood. He had to deal with the separation of his mother and
father during his high school days. Johnny didn t take this very lightly. Though through all of his
pain and anger he helped take care of his mother. Who was even more heartbroken than Johnny
was. During this time in his life he hung out with the wrong crowd. Once he was embarrassed by

he is related to nonconformity to society. Because he thinks that everyone should be themselves.
That they shouldn t hide who they are because that is what society finds as unacceptable. Because
that is what is unacceptable. Another thing that Johnny says that is different from everyone else is,
Me, I m dishonest, and you can always trust a dishonest man to be dishonest. Honestly, it s the
honest ones you have to watch out for. This is different, because usually it is the dishonest people
that need to be watched, and cannot be trusted. But Johnny Depp thinks about these things in a
different light. This is found odd in the society. Not many people would accept this because it goes

Analysis Of Miracles By C. S. Lewis
With Strong Evidences: Miracle Can Be Asserted
There have been claims of occurrences of events that are beyond human comprehension in humans
history. Many regard these out of this world experiences as miracle. Although the accounts of these
events varies with places and people, the reports make people consider the possibility of miracle
happening to them even at the absence of factual evidences to support many of these events. C.S.
Lewis, author of Miracles supports this idea that miracles can be taken seriously without firm
evidence to support them, due to the fact that miracle can t be witnessed naturally, we can t prove
that there are no proofs of miracles occurring, and that advancement in science isn t focusing on
proving the existence of an entity outside of nature. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unless there exists, in addition to Nature, something else which we may call the supernatural,
there can be no miracles (5), therefore we can assume that miracle can t occur without the
consideration of something else existing outside nature. According to Lewis, super naturalists
claim that an entity with God s attributes exists outside nature (42), and also reveals that God
created nature (7). Since God created nature and He exist outside of natural, proof of miracle
cannot be found within nature, and Lewis describes the occurrence of miracle as they come on
great occasions: they are found at the great ganglions not of political or social history, but of that
spiritual history which cannot be fully known by men (273). Miracle are rare events, and it takes
the highly spiritual to witness

Is Beowulf The Ideal Hero Essay
Beowulf is an Old English poem in which a hero gains fame and riches through defeating
monsters.Beowulf the hero, is form a clan known as the geats. In the poem he is said to be one of
the bravest and strongest men on earth. Beowulf begins his journey by slaying a monster known as
Grendel, that has been terrorizing the Danes. Once Grendel is killed he boasts about his brute
strength and earns kinship from King Hrothgar. Beowulfthen proceeded to fight in two more
battles with the third one ending in a deadly defeat for Beowulf. So why is Beowulf considered the
perfect heroby his society?
Part of it had to do with the fact that in Beowulf s time period and society, they had certain
actions, traits, and values that Anglo Saxons deemed heroic. There are a couple distinct traits that
make up the Anglo Saxon hero. The first one is Loyalty. Anglo Saxons were immensely loyal. In
the poem the author writes, Beowulf arose, with his men around him, ordering a few to remain
with their weapons (47 ). This quote signifies that Beowulf had men that were loyal to him. They
considered Beowulf worthy enough to follow his orders. The next trait would be strength. A hero is
always related to strength whether it be mental or physical. In this case Beowulf had tremendous
physical strength. The poem shows Beowulf s brute strength in a quote that states, Grasped at a
strong hearted wakeful sleeper and was instantly seized himself, claws Bent back as Beowulf
leaned up on one arm. That shepherd

  • 2. A Man For All Seasons By Robert Bolt The book A Man for All Seasons, by Robert Bolt is a play written to teach us a few important lessons about life. He wrote A Man for All Seasons in 1960, and the play was mounted on the London stage that same year and in New York in 1961. The themes that Bolt uses in writing this play are moral values, self, friendship, and corruption. Moral values are when a character respects his own opinion about something. Self and friendship are the relationships built between characters and how that affects the play. The main character in the play is Thomas More, an English lawyer, social philosopher, author, statesman, and for a short period of time, Lord Chancellor of England. Thomas More is viewed as saint like by the people that new him. More is given the responsibility to decide whether or not King Henry VIII and his wife Catherine could get a divorce. King Henry was allowed to get married to Catherine, even though she was his brother s wife, because the judge bent the rules for him. King Henry is now asking for a divorce because he wants to birth a male child, which Catherine can not give him. While this is happening, Richard Rich is Thomas ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There is a 1.5 mile trail that can take visitors around the park as well as a spotting tower that allows visitors to see animals in their natural habitat, such as the many mule deer that call the nature center home (Third Sun Productions). Many of the invasive plants will repopulate no matter how much you try to clear them out because they have seeds that spread, so it becomes a vicious cycle that the Nature Center faces every year. The Nature Center has also been affected by the lack of water Utah has had in the past few years. There is a pond on the premises called Avocet pond that has almost dried out. We were assigned to help with the restoration of this pond, so that one day it will become as beautiful as the rest of the park. He personally tested cutting edge aircraft of his own design and in 1937 broke the transcontinental flight time record. In 1938, he flew around the world in a record three days, 19 hours, and 14 minutes. Following the U.S. entrance into World War II in 1941, the U.S. government commissioned the Hughes Aircraft Company to build a large flying boat capable of carrying men and materials over long distances. Because of wartime restrictions on steel, Hughes decided to build his aircraft out of wood laminated with plastic and covered with fabric, and they had a wingspan of 320 feet and was powered by eight giant propeller engines. Development of the Spruce Goose cost a phenomenal $23 million and took so long that the war had ended by the time of its completion in 1946. The aircraft had many detractors, and Congress demanded that Hughes prove the plane airworthy. On November 2, 1947, Hughes obliged, taking the prototype out into Long Beach Harbor, CA for an unannounced flight test. Thousands of onlookers had come to watch the aircraft taxi on the water and were surprised when Hughes lifted his wooden behemoth 70 feet above the water and flew for a mile before landing.... And that s not to say that spending time with my closest friends has never brought me pleasure; our late nights at wrestling competitions, playing video games, just shooting the breeze are some of my most enjoyable memories. It s just that there s something soothing about solitary reading, quiet introspection, and exercising alone toward which I gravitate. According to my mom it s because she didn t arrange enough playdates for me when I was a little kid. It may just be that I was born predestined to have an inclination towards solitude, like some puritanical hermit. But regardless of the reasons for my social preferences, what... To quote Susan Cain, a former corporate lawyer, and Tedx acknowledged authority on introversion, shyness implies submissiveness. And in a competitive culture that reveres alpha dogs, one downmanship is probably the most damning trait of all. THAT is why I find it so important to separate the concept of introversion from shyness: To dispel any notion of weakness, to deny any perception of social disadvantage, and to debunk the idea that introverts are in any way incapable of being functional members of society. In most of the countries, the government has intervened in the market system. To some extent there is a dire need of government intervention in the market system, although there is a debate over this point among the economists. Many economists believe that the role of government intervention improves the market system. The government can easily enforce the rules that can help in the smooth functioning of the market system. On the other hand, there are economists who believe that government interventions in a market system are the reason of inefficiency in the system. Information failure occurs when people have inaccurate, incomplete, uncertain or misunderstood data and so make potentially wrong choices. Government action can have a role in improving information to help consumers and producers value the true cost and/or benefit of a good or service. • 11. Effects Of Monster In Night By Elie Wiesel How do monsters affect people? Monsters can affect people in many different ways. Monsters can come in many different shapes, sizes and thoughts. Some monsters can be other people, but some can be the thought of something awful happening or losing faith. In the book Night by Elie Wiesel, him and his family are being targeted by the Nazis because they are Jewish. They are taken to concentration camps and split apart from each other. In the book Pure by Julianna Baggott, Pressia seems to have little hope that she will survive through her 16th birthday and escape OSR. Later in the book, Pressia gets captured by OSR, but during the capture she meets her half brother Partridge and they make it out alive. Many modern atrocities and genocides can... They were crammed into cattle cars and separated from family. Elie says, What s more, if I felt anger at that moment it was not directed at the Kapo but at my father. Why couldn t he have avoided Idek s wrath? That was what life in concentration camp had made of me... (54). Basically, Elie is mad at his father because he had to fight with Idek, knowing how powerful he was. This proves the topic sentence because Elie s father feared what would happen if he did not stand up for himself. Elie says, I woke from my apathy only when two men approached my father. I threw myself on his body. He wa cold. I slapped him. I rubbed his hands, crying: Father! Father! Wake up. They re going to throw you outside... (99). Thus, Elie feared what would happen if he was left alone and his father was dead. It supports what is stated in my topic sentence because the fear was being too weak to carry on and being killed by the Nazi soldiers. Elie overcame the monsters because no matter how hard life got in the concentration camp he never stopped fighting. Elie was very successful because he made it out alive, even when he had foot problems, he never let anything hold him back. In the book Night, there is fear of what might happen, but in the end no one gave up until they were too sick to carry ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analysis Of The Goophered Grapevine By Charles Chesnutte Charles Chesnutt s Writings for Social and Political Change Charles Chesnutt was a well known African American author who was known for his short stories that conveyed racist African American dialect and conveyed his wishes for equality and social and political change for African Americans. The purpose of this paper is to delve into Chesnutt s short storyThe Goophered Grapevine to define the way Chesnutt manipulated his audience and worked towards white sympathy for the black community. Chesnutt knew that if he attempted his goal with his white audience s knowledge, they would resist and he would therefore be unsuccessful. Therefore, Chesnutt needed to disguise the motive of the story so he could affect his audience without their knowledge of his manipulation. Chesnutt did so through the use of storytelling with three characters that served to show the three sides of the racial divide. Through the use of storytelling, Chesnutt used the three main characters in The Goophered Grapevine as a whole to represent and show the different sides of the racial divide and manipulate his audience into sympathizing with the black society in order for social and political change; Uncle Julius functioned as the storyteller as well as the black society, John functioned as the white side of the community who resisted change, and Annie functioned as the side of the white community that sympathized with the black community and sought political and social change for the black community. ... On July 7th 2011, Verisign issued a statement declaring that all .com, .net, .org and many other domain names would become under United States (US) jurisdiction. Websites containing these domain names, which were registered outside of US, have encountered various implications for multiple reasons. Firstly, although these websites are registered in a country other than the US, they are subjected to US law despite the fact that the registrar might be living in a country with differentiating laws. The Bodog.com case is a clear example of this. Secondly, the US now has authority to actually seize a website and hold the website s registrar accountable if their website is deemed to be illegal under US laws. Online gaming is legal in many international countries and this clearly shows the unnecessary abuse of power by the US. If this case had been judged prior to this change in approach, Ayre would have been found not guilty and Bodog.com would still be up and running. The caregiver and infant s relationship form four possible attachment styles: secure, avoidant, ambivalent/anxious, and disorganized (McLeod, 2009). Secure attachment occurs when the caregiver meets the child s needs. The child feels safe and secure. Charles Lindbergh Jr. was kidnapped in attempts to get some ransom money from his wealthy father, the famous pilot Charles Lindbergh. The murder of the child almost seemed to be an accident and that it was a slip up in the plan to kidnap the child. Each stage has several steps, but the cycle describes the herostarting in his initial state, encountering something to change him, and this his return as a changed person. Beowulf s victory over Grendel should be considered as crossing of the first threshold . Prior to his victory, Beowulf had only triumphed over man. This victory over monster provides him with more (personal) glory, and causes a bit of a dip into the next major step of the Hero s Journey, the initiation. However, the underlying issue was my lack of interest and not my un cooperating fingers. For some, Music is a way to express how they feel. People see through a person with the sound of music. Since I really had no interest in the piano, I decided to take a look at other instruments. My passion for music was decreasing as I could not find an instrument that my hands found pleasure in. A friend of mine said I should try the violin. She described it as a classical instrument that soothes the soul. The first few weeks I learned how to play the violin, I started to get a hang of it but as I played I would always dance. It was weird to my classmates but dancing with the sounds the violin made me so happy. One s interest typically leads one to one s talent eventually, one step at a time. The story is mainly all about Sherlock and his abilities, which then rises the question about the importance of the character of Dr.Watson, both to the chaarcter of Sherlock Holmes, and towards the readers. Dr.Watson would be guarding the door, or watching over the security cameras, meanwhile, Sherlock would be out doing the dangerous stuff such as breaking into a secret laboratory or going out in the woods at midnight. One example would be in the Sherlock BBC TV Show episode The Hound of Baskerville , when Sherlock asked Dr.Watson to watch over the house and the family, while Sherlock goes to investigate. Dr.Watson does not only serve as a purpose towards Sherlock, but also towards the readers or audiences. Many may not notice this, but in the Sherlock BBC TV Show, Dr.Watson takes notes of the cases and posts them on his blog. So therefore, the Sherlock stories were written by Dr.Watson. Without Dr.Watson s notes or blog, there would not be a Sherlock Holmes story to be told. Sherlock often talks to himself, and when he does figure a mystery out, he would just walk out the door and starts speaking is accelerated gibberish. In the poem he is said to be one of the bravest and strongest men on earth. Beowulf begins his journey by slaying a monster known as Grendel, that has been terrorizing the Danes. Once Grendel is killed he boasts about his brute strength and earns kinship from King Hrothgar. Beowulfthen proceeded to fight in two more battles with the third one ending in a deadly defeat for Beowulf. So why is Beowulf considered the perfect heroby his society? Part of it had to do with the fact that in Beowulf s time period and society, they had certain actions, traits, and values that Anglo Saxons deemed heroic. There are a couple distinct traits that make up the Anglo Saxon hero. The first one is Loyalty. Anglo Saxons were immensely loyal. In the poem the author writes, Beowulf arose, with his men around him, ordering a few to remain with their weapons (47 ). This quote signifies that Beowulf had men that were loyal to him.
