• To get started go to: https://wordpress.com/

• We are working with WordPress.com. If you
want a self hosted website you will need to
use WordPress.org. Click here for an overview
of the difference between WordPress.com and
.org


Sign Up Process: You need to give your blog an Address & Name.
You can choose to have your site visible to all, crawled by search
engines or set to private.


Notes:
• You will have the opportunity to add upgrades
for a price. If you want the upgrades, I
suggest that you explore self hosting (see
previous slide).
• For the purpose of this class, we are using all
free options.

Adding Posts & Pages
• The process is the same for both.
• Give the post or page a title
• The next large box is where you add the text
• The section above the text box has options for styling.
• If you click the little camera icon that says Add Media
you can add an image into your page or post.
• The right hand side of the page is where you can save
your post or page as a draft, preview what you have
done or Publish.
