A problem.
What’s a Run-On Sentence?
A run-on sentence should not be in your essay you should work very hard to get rid of
them use this slideshow to help you.

How can you fix these sentence fragments?
What is missing from each one?
The subject?
The predicate?
Do they express complete thoughts?
Sometimes a writer makes a fragment look like a
complete sentence.
The writer starts the fragment with a capital letter
and ends it with a period, but the fragment is still a
fragment – an incomplete sentence.
Because it does not express a complete thought.
The sentence fragment is, …
Be careful when beginning a sentence with a transition
word – and, but, because, while, since, and others.
Transition words tell the reader that you will be making a
comparison or giving an example which means your
sentence needs to have two parts in it.
The fragment above has a transition word (awesome) but
only one part (fragment).
That red thing is a SEMICOLON. It can be
used instead of a “, and”. Pretty cool!!!
