Change Your Mind, Change Your Life is an interactive workshop for graduating students in the Vancouver Board of Trade Leaders of Tomorrow Program, December, 2012
The presentation will introduce you to the different ways teachers can help learners to be better prepared for life in the 21st century. There are many ideas which teachers are already using every day such as Global Awareness and Cross Curricular Skills, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, Communication and Collaboration. The author of the presentation reflects on how we can develop such skills while teaching English to our students.
Just like letter writing and report writing, notice writing is also a skill that you should learn and practise as they are writing forms that would be an integral form of communication throughout your academic and professional life. The first question that might pop up in your mind when you see the term would be – what is notice writing or how to write a notice.
This article will help students understand everything they need to know about notice writing. Let’s read the entire article to find out how to write a notice, the format of a notice, and the tips and techniques to be followed to write an informative notice. Check out the sample notices for a clearer idea of the same.

Intuition: What is it and why is it important? Intuition is that inner knowing which can help us access answers to questions, we all rely so much on data and facts that in this busy world, many of us have lost this ability. When was the last time you had a gut feel about something, then ignored it? What happened then? I have put together a modular series of presentations on Intuition for the workplace, which I call Intuition at Work. The file I am sharing gives you an overview of the principles and I have other modules which I adapt depending on the nature of the business. Any feedback or queries would be most welcome!
Think Like an Agilist - Agile Sydney 2014Jason Yip
Culture is not just visible artefacts and behaviour, value statements, and culture books. The foundation of culture is our underlying mental processes, beliefs, and assumptions.
Think Like an Agilist is an exercise using difficult scenarios, and think-aloud protocol, to expose and allow us to examine and practice adjusting our assumptions (aka culture).

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
