Intuition at Work Events Organisers
What is intuition? That gut feel Just knowing Instinct Feeling That little voice in your head That nagging thought This feels right I was just thinking about you
What is intuition? Albert Einstein: Scientific discovery comes from intuition followed by the proof
Why is intuition important? We focus so much on data, numbers, facts we don’t listen to ourselves By listening to our intuition we can make more informed decisions Better communication with others Our intuition has all the answers, we don’t ask the questions!
What facilitates intuition? Positive intent Open mind Belief Expectation Desire Trust Gratitude Common sense
How do you recognise your intuition? It is unique to each individual Think about something you love How do you feel? Think about something you really dislike How do you feel? Notice the feeling, what goes through your mind, any taste, smell, sensation
When have you ignored your intuition? What did you feel intuitively? What was the outcome? How did you feel afterwards? Would you handle it differently another time?
Right brain/left brain Right brain is creative, intuitive, inventive Left brain is logical, data orientated Extremes on either side are undesirable To develop your right brain…….. To develop your left brain…….
Ego blocks The conscious mind (ego) is a censor: Fear Habit Stress Our conscious mind feeds these blocks Tell your mind your intuition is in charge Tell it in advance
Removing ego blocks Positive affirmations – and mean it! Go with the flow Watch what you think and say – no certainly, definitely, absolutely Creative writing, visualisation, day dreaming, doodling, music, mind mapping, brainstorming Allow ideas to incubate Listen to yourself and your body
Exercise Write for a few moments – what is going through your mind, what do you feel, see, hear, taste, smell? Keep your pen on the paper and just keep writing!
Framing questions Will I have enough money? Will I be happy? Should I move house? Will I get a new client and earn good commission? Will I get married and have children?
Framing questions Write down 2 questions which are: Unambiguous Realistic Time bound Measurable
How can you develop your intuition? Curiosity Learn from making mistakes Develop your five senses Recognise how you feel with ambiguity Balance right brain/left brain Look after yourself Look at interconnectivity Keep a journal
Mind mapping Select a topic – specific question! Select a symbol to represent it Draw it in the centre of the page Write down associated key words Connect key words with the symbol and write the word on the connecting line Use colour to highlight priorities and associations What theme/s are identified?
Creativity Ask 100 questions in one sitting Write for 15 minutes every day Ask a question, let your mind wander Doodle Paint Go for a walk Relax Visualise your success
Practice intuition! Who is on the end of the phone? What time will the train arrive? What gender will the baby be? What will my friend choose from the menu? When will the traffic lights change to green? What will the mail contain today?
Visualisation What does this mean? How can you visualise? Why is visualisation important? There is no limit to your success!
Success! Visualisation Affirmation Action
