Autobiography
My name is Jesse Medina, I was born on November 5th, 1991, in the city of El Monte, California.
My mom is Angelica Mesta, and my dad, Jesse Jose Medina. I'm the middle child of my two sisters,
Alina and Enyse. My family moved to Riverside 20 years ago. I grew up in the Sunnyslope area of
riverside where I went to elementary school. During these years of grades 1–6, I learned to enjoy
some aspects of school like lunchtime, and recess. For most of time though, it was a struggle for me
to keep up with homework, and even had a couple of scares that I wouldn 't pass to the next grade.

A special feeling of gratitude to my parents, who gave me the tools and values necessary to be

Till this day, employees that worked at the plant believed they did the best they could with what they
had to work with. Furthermore, there was no trust between management and employees.
We believe that improving the health and communication of an organization is a priority. Moreover,
it is important to put employee needs first as well as sharing information regularly. Companies such

As my senior year of high school started I was often excited about prom, a night of pure fun that's

The Capstone has to do with volunteering and serving others. The seniors try to do something that
may be something they want their job to be in the future or what they want to major in in college. I

Every JROTC class is subjected different forms of curriculums compared to other classes in the
school.
Each class is divided into four year groups: first years, second years, third years, and fourth years.
Each year group is taught different aspects of leadership education and aerospace science. Through
the four years, cadets are taught how to be a leader.
Once a cadet reaches his or her fourth year, he or she will be given the opportunity to become a
flight commander. As a flight commander, cadets are expected to take control of the class in the

Hypothesis 1: Hiring managers are hiring Caucasians for Senior Level Executive positions over
minority applicants.
In America, cultural sounding names are prevalent. People attribute certain cultural names with
racial groups. For example, Lakisha Johnson and Jamal Wilson may be seen as names of African
Americans While Emily Adams and Connor Backham, may be seen as Caucasian names. Marianne
Bertrans and Sendhill Mullainathan conducted a study on race in the labor market by sending
fictitious resumes to help–wanted ads in Boston and Chicago newspapers. To manipulate perceived
race, resumes were randomly assigned African–American or White–sounding names before being
sent to jobs around the Boston and Chicago area. White names received 50 percent more callback
for interviews compared to the African–American names. They also found the racial gap to be
uniform across occupation, industry and employer size. In fact, Bertans and Mullainathan found
evidence that inferred social class from the names.
This study was particular interesting because it presented research as to how employers are using
prejudice attitudes when extending interviews. This study aids to our research because it shows how
hiring managers are denying cultural sounding names even before an interview. Despite their

For Claudia Cifolelli's Senior Project, she provided service for the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in
Kenya, Africa. This organization provides a safe haven for injured and orphaned elephants that have
been victims of the illegal ivory poaching throughout Kenya. In order to help raise money to fund
this organization, Claudia organized a silent auction containing art pieces related to wildlife made by
students and alumni from Natomas Charter School and other local artists. The money she made went

My Best Friend
I hear footsteps coming closer from the white newly polished hall across the room. My hands are
shaking, I'm sweating from my forehead down. I'm as nervous as I could and will ever be. Is school
finally over, or is it a teacher coming to give us more work? Even worse is the principal coming?
Hopefully, if I'm lucky it's just a student coming back from the filthy, smelly, gross bathroom. Oh,
thank god it's just Ellie, my best friend. We've been besties since preschool. She has blonde hair,
brown eyes, and always wears her long, luxurious hair in a high, sleek ponytail. To think about it,
we're kind of like a power couple. Blonde and brunette. I also have long hair just not as long as
Ellie's. I have brown hair, blue eyes, and I always wear cute dresses. At least I think they're cute.
Ellie says I need a style change. My name's Valerie but you can call me V. All my friends call me
that.
RING! RING! RING! RING!
That's the loud,annoying,pounding bell. Usually I'd be disgusted to hear that bell because it would
mean I had to go to another class.(I'm still getting used to that even though we started this senior
year a couple of weeks ago.) Today it's different though. It sounds like music in my ears because
today, at this time, that blessing of a bell means school is over. Well, at least the day is. And do you
know what that means? Time to create some pranks because it's senior prank day!

Senior Year
The summer before senior year is when many people attempt to reevaluate their lives, and change
anything about themselves that does not satisfy them. One of the greatest motivators for change, is
knowing that you should be better. Not just that you wish to be different, but knowing you have
fallen short of your own potential. When I observed myself going into senior year, I knew that I had
fallen short of my potential–I was not being my best self–and I set out to change that. Running has
never been my thing. I was always the girl lagging behind when the class ran laps in gym; always
the one with the slowest mile time. I loathed running more than anything–yet I envied those who
could run with ease. At the beginning of this summer,
