Barriers To E-Learning Job Training Presentation (no sound)Lisa Ronald
Learning at work as an employee is inherently different from being a student in an academic setting and, as such, is beset with different challenges. As trends in the adoption of e-learning for the delivery of job training increase, new challenges related to distance learning with technology have also emerged. Recognition that continued learning in the workplace, now via technological methods, is required for maintaining proficiency and achieving career goals means that understanding the challenges unique to learning at work is paramount.
This qualitative study explored barriers to successful online job learning. Interviews with thirty federal government employees from the Forest Service and National Park Service enrolled in an online wilderness planning course revealed that attrition frameworks typically used to describe barriers to persistence in academia and distance education only partially describe hindering factors relevant to workplace learning. Although these hindering factors can generally be categorized as workplace; personality trait, and preference; course design/structure; or technology barriers, such categorization oversimplifies the true nature of employees’ struggles to learn on the job.
This study's findings reveal three overarching systemic problems: 1) illusion of convenience, 2) absence of deeper learning, and 3) lack of an organizational culture of learning. These systemic problems demonstrate that complex interactions between various barriers create a cyclic system often preventing attainment of student-controlled, student-centered learning, two benefits of self-paced study. Other barrier interactions can foster employment of superficial, rather than deep, learning strategies possibly leaving employees ill-prepared to negotiate the situations for which they are supposedly being trained. Cultural elements of the structure and organization of work suggest that workplace learning is devalued, under-recognized and often unsupported, making the challenges to adaptation in an increasingly technological era even more significant.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Self guided learning QSAR INQUIRIES
1. MARKET IMAGE FOR QSAR inquiries,LLC
E-learning is the computer and network-enabled transfer of skills and knowledge.
E-learning applications and processes include Web-based learning, computer-
based learning, virtual education opportunities and digital collaboration. Content
is delivered via the Internet, intranet/extranet, audio or video tape, satellite TV,
and CD-ROM. It can be self-paced or instructor-led
QSAR Inquiries,LLC will provide instructors of chemistry, physics, biology and
other disciplines to upload their existing material, and make them web based
instructional , self –guided lessons.
Online training allows instructors to concentrate on clarifying specific concepts
one-on-one rather that delivering lecture to an audience. Online training allows
administrators to focus on delivering a broader range of educational products and
consistently high-quality educational experiences for students rather than the
burdens of scheduling and allocating resources.
Traditional classroommethodoligies maintain a teacher centered approach.
Studies involving the use of cooperative learning approaches, as well the use of
recent technology, (itunes university, iphone, android, ipad, goggle.docs,
blackboard 9.0, and moodle) show increase in the “student-centered”and
“technology enhanced” classroom.
2. Because of the iphone, and ipad(phython programming environment) technology
and high speed data transfer, the 21st century classroom will rely on these
technology.
Recently Apple apps such as “audible.com” (an audio reader)and Other internet
readers, like ‘google.docs”, it is convienient to place chemistry, physics and
biology science material in these internet web based platforms
The “audible” reader (audio reader) (see pic) is available on the iPhone. It would
be convienent to add learning material, to such a reader
•
The use of games such as xbox and Wii, may make the use of ‘classroom”
clickers” familiar to many college freshman. These game platforms are
extremely familiar to the 20 to 25 year old, so why not make the classroom a
familiar place to them.
Another extreme example is how “skype” can be used to communicate with
individuals who use sign language (hearing impaired) to communicate.
Assignments are now almost always placed in a students“moodle account”, or
“blackboard account”. There might be corresponding links to pdf files, or word
files. Even youtube videos, training videos are made and used in the chemistry
classroom. Students find it second nature to look for their assignments in
blackboard
Why not now further move this technology into classroom. Statistics are showing
more instructors forming “hybrid courses”. With the use of “computer on-
3. wheels” or “COW’s available to instructors, inclass formative assessments can
take place, as with the use of “clicker” technology
• Changes in college courses has been the seen to the massive growth or
eLearning. As a result, QSAR inquiries,LLC is a huge believer in elearning
and we believe that web based training offer : Flexibility,
Scalabiltiy,Reliabiltiy, and accountability.
• Flexibility: The ability to deliver training, to geographically disbursed
student population, at irregular intervals. The idea that all students
needing course material and training would and could be availiable for their
courses at the moment they were able to deliver it was not very forward
looking . . .but lost is the past. Time and distance and cost were always
going to be a factor when providing training.
• Scalability: Another advantage is that online programs could be broken
into smaller bites. They could be made more interactive, thus engaging the
participants. Having to understanding information in more managible
blocks , and combining those smaller questions with quizzes, questionaires
and workbooks, could enhance the student retention and implementation.
Making this online system more effective than a massive “One-Time”
lecture driven course where much of the information could be forgotten
prior to the student utilizing the information to perform the desired skill.
• Reliability: That web based training is consistent in delivery, presentation,
product sharing and tracking. Yet, it would remain dependable and
accountable
• Accountability: Online courses can provide accountability for students.
The time spent in the course can be immediately accounted for
•
• Web Based Training is more convenient for students, administrators, and
instructors.
• Web-based training uses the internet for delivery of training content and
allows students to access course materials, reference information, and
exams anywhere and anytime their schedule permits. The student uses her
own computer at home or at work. Students often correspond and share
4. ideas with other students taking the same course via e-mail and correspond
with instructor/mentors for clarification of concepts. Group discussions can
be mediated by the instructor and facilitated in real time via any of several
chat services
Web Based Training is much more affordable than traditional instructor-led
classroom training.
Classroom training is a very costly business venture particularly for IT training
courses. It requires a staff of highly paid instructors, fully equipped labs, and full-
time staff to co-ordinate scheduling of students, instructors, and lab facilities. No-
shows (students that don't show up for class) are very common and create
additional scheduling overhead and inefficient resource allocation. Printed course
materials (textbooks, lab manuals, etc.) are very expensive, often representing 10-
30% of the course cost. These costs must be passed along in the form of tuition or
taxes depending on whether the training organization is privately or publicly
funded.
What is the difference in cost between Web-based and traditional classroom
training? Generally, the more people interactive (student to student chats and
email, student to instructor chats and e-mail, whiteboard/application sharing) the
greater the cost. However even the highly interactive courses are generally only
25-40% of the cost of the same classroom course.
This is an example of the extreme ends of the spectrum, but it is accurate.
Elearning is more effective than traditional classroom training.
In particular, college students , and children can interact with new media, and
develop their skills, knowledge, perception
The E-learning and the field of Technology enhanced learning therefore applies to
the support of any learning activity through technology.
