Industries, businesses and business models are being radically changed as a consequence of all the technological developments sweeping the world. I am writing a series of papers that cover the implications of all of this for how boards go about doing their work. The first paper is a general overview of these developments.

Honest Reviews of Tim Han LMA Course Program.pptxtimhan337
Personal development courses are widely available today, with each one promising life-changing outcomes. Tim Han’s Life Mastery Achievers (LMA) Course has drawn a lot of interest. In addition to offering my frank assessment of Success Insider’s LMA Course, this piece examines the course’s effects via a variety of Tim Han LMA course reviews and Success Insider comments.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Seismics and the City 2013 - Forum 2 Designing and Building the Future - session notes
1. Forum 2: Designing and Building the Future
The below notes are a summary from the panel session and brainstorming discussions…. Panel
participants were asked to summarise the key themes that were issues in their spheres and to
identify any areas of support and help they need.
Daryl Maguire, Principal Architect, Warren & Mahoney
There is still politics & red tape.
Big infrastructure is now ready to respond but needs to speed up, but at the same time to get it
right.
Russell Poole, Engineer, Pheonix Consulting
We have an environment of conservative engineers who are operating in a way that looks like they
need to covers their bums at the moment.
Limitation of 7 storeys is not great.
It is good if you’ve had seismic experience as an engineer, but there is not a lot of skill in NZ or
Australia so we need to bring them offshore.
Engineering slowness is a good thing, but there is not enough resource – we need another 500
people in the workplace.
We need to use the older people in the workforce to help plug this gap.
Margo Perpick, Partner, Wyn Williams Lawyers
Government buy up of land is going to be very expensive – how can we do this differently?
David MacDonald, Executive Member, Property Council New Zealand's South Island Branch
Capital follows certainty & profit.
There is strong tenant demand and we need competent well-funded developers - but there are not
many.
Not all developers are feeling engaged and many are feeling distinctly unloved.
Raf Manji, Social and Business Entrepreneur
How can we continue to engage people more in the process & provide feedback to those in the
process.
2. Young people need involving more.
Fundraising opportunities using crowd sourcing.
Feedback Session
The below is a summary from the feedback discussion sessions had by plenary participants. We split
into groups to focus the discussions.
Business Community
Export focus for business – need a culture change.
Young professionals & how to retain in Christchurch.
Collaboration is key, such as the biker night/community at Smash Palace.
Residential Re-Build in 4 Aves
We need a strategy overall for renewal and urban regeneration
Affordability is key
Mixed use space
Better design is required
Social Infrastructure
Integration of social entrepreneurship – we just need to do it
It would be good to have a high profile person to lead this
The Government loves things that work
Mix of ages is what works well in terms of working together and getting feedback
Commercial Re-Build
Better understanding of different parties perspectives………both economic & social.
Green frame - Property owners & Government need to work on moving acquisition forward.
3. Central city will take time to regenerate, with suburban rent rates locking tenants in over long
periods….
Land developers /property owners need to collaborate & communicate more.
