Key Management Scheme for Secure Group Communication in WSN with Multiple Gr...csandit
Security is one of the inherent challenges in the area of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). At
present, majority of the security protocols involve massive iterations and complex steps of
encryptions thereby giving rise to degradation of quality of service. Many WSN applications are
based on secure group communication. In this paper, we have proposed a scheme for secure
group key management with simultaneous multiple groups. The scheme uses a key-based
approach for managing the groups and we show that membership change events can be
handled with less storage, communication and computation cost. The scheme also offers
authentication to the messages communicated within and among the groups.

he Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have spread its roots in almost every application. Owing to their scattered nature of sensor nodes, they are more prone to attacks. There are certain applications e.g. military, where sensor data‟s confidentiality requirement during transmission is essential. Cryptography has a vital role for achieving security in WSNs.WSN has resource constraints like memory size, processing speed and energy consumption which bounds the applicability of existing cryptographic algorithms for WSN. Any good security algorithms has higher energy consumption by the nodes, so it‟s a need to choose most energy-efficient cryptographic encryption algorithms for WSNs. This paper surveys different asymmetric algorithms such as RSA, Diffie-Hellman, DSA, ECC, hybrid and DNA cryptography. These algorithms are compared based on their key size, strength, weakness, attacks and possible countermeasures in the form of table.

The document compares and analyzes different encryption techniques. It summarizes the Data Encryption Standard (DES), Triple DES (3DES), and Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). DES uses a 56-bit key and 64-bit block size, while 3DES extends DES to 168 bits for improved security. AES was developed later to replace DES and uses 128, 192, or 256 bit keys and block sizes. The document concludes that AES is more secure than DES and 3DES based on its longer key lengths and that it is the symmetric encryption algorithm of choice for future applications.

The document proposes a mechanism for establishing trust-based secure routes for data communication between mobile nodes in a mobile ad hoc network (MANET). It aims to dynamically increase the trust level between nodes from low to high using proxy nodes. When nodes need to securely communicate, they will generate dynamic secret session keys either directly or through proxy nodes using message digest and Diffie-Hellman protocols. The mechanism is implemented on reactive routing protocols and finds routes through trusted intermediate nodes that share secret keys. This may result in non-optimal routes but guarantees security. It also describes how a new node can join and how trusted nodes can act as proxies to help other nodes establish shared keys.

Securing cluster based adhoc network through balanced clustering with distrib...eSAT Journals
Abstract In this paper, we address key management in cluster-based mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). We present a fully-distributed ID-based multiple secrets key management scheme (IMKM). This scheme is implemented via a combination of ID-based multiple secrets and threshold cryptography. Ensuring secure communication in an ad hoc network is extremely challenging because of the dynamic nature of the network and the lack of centralized management. Our proposed analysis includes the effect of packet generation model, random deployment of sensors, dynamic cluster head assignment, data compression, and energy consumption model at the sensors. a new protocol called Equalized Cluster Head Election Routing Protocol (ECHERP), which pursues energy conservation through balanced clustering, is proposed. Performance evaluation of ECHERP is carried out through simulation tests. We also present a novel key predistribution scheme that uses deployment knowledge to divide deployment regions into overlapping clusters, each of which has its own distinct key space. Through careful construction of these clusters, network resilience is improved, we focus on the management of encryption keys in large-scale clustered WSNs. We propose a novel distributed key management scheme based on Exclusion Basis Systems (EBS); a combinatorial formulation of the group key management problem. Initially, clusters are formed in the network and the cluster heads are selected based on the energy cost, coverage and processing capacity. The sink assigns cluster key to every cluster and an EBS key set to every cluster head. The EBS key set contains the pairwise keys for intra-cluster and inter-cluster communication. During data transmission towards the sink, the data is made to pass through two phases of encryption thus ensuring security in the network. Our results include performance evaluation in terms of security metrics in clustered WSN and a detailed analysis of resource utilization. Time Performance Analysis of RSA and Elgamal Public Key Cryptosystemsijtsrd
Computer and network security system are needed to protect data during their transmissions and to guarantee that data are authentic. Cryptography is useful not only for proving data to be secure but also for ensuring that data have not altered. So, it is needed to implement the public key cryptosystem in computer and network security system. In cryptography, symmetric key cryptosystems are faster than public key asymmetric cryptosystems. But public key cryptosystems are more secure than symmetric key cryptosystems and widely used in computer and network security system. This describes the comparison of RSA Rivest, Shame, Adelman public key cryptosystem and ElGamal public key cryptosystem. RSA public key cryptosystem is faster than ElGamal in encryption and decryption. This paper also describes the encryption decryption time comparison of RSA and ElGamal. This document discusses secure data deduplication techniques in cloud storage. It proposes using convergent encryption to encrypt duplicate data only once while allowing deduplication. Managing the large number of encryption keys is a challenge. The document proposes Dekey, which distributes encryption key shares across multiple servers rather than having users manage keys directly. It also proposes using user behavior profiling and decoy files/information. Profiling a user's normal access patterns can help detect abnormal access, while decoys confuse attackers by providing bogus information if unauthorized access is detected. The combination of these techniques aims to provide strong security against insider and outsider attackers in deduplicated cloud storage systems.

Mobile Ad hoc Network is a collection of wireless mobile nodes forming a network without
using any existing infrastructure. MANET is a collection of mobile nodes along with wireless
transmitter and receiver that with each other via a bi-directional links either directly or indirectly. A
new intrusion detection system named communicates Enhanced Adaptive Acknowledgment
(EAACK) specially designed for MANETs. It is based on the digital signature algorithm (DSA). To
enhance the security in the mobile adhoc networks, we introduce a new approach called Hybrid
cryptography algorithm that provides integrity, confidentiality and authentication. This hybrid
cryptography algorithm is based on two cryptography algorithms such as RSA and AES. Encryption is
achieved by using, RSA algorithm for authentication and symmetric algorithm for the integrity. By
using the symmetric and asymmetric cryptographic algorithm, we can achieve better security and
integrity than the EAACK
IRJET- Data Transmission using RSA AlgorithmIRJET Journal
This document discusses using a combination of symmetric and asymmetric encryption algorithms to securely transmit data over a network. Specifically, it proposes a system where data packets are first encrypted with the symmetric AES algorithm. The AES secret key is then encrypted with the public key of the asymmetric RSA algorithm. At the receiving end, the private RSA key and a one-time password are used to decrypt the AES key and allow decryption of the data packets. This approach leverages the strengths of both AES for fast encryption and RSA for strong authentication to provide secure data transmission.

This document provides a literature review of modern variants of the RSA cryptosystem. It discusses several variants proposed in other research papers that aim to address weaknesses in the original RSA algorithm, such as improving security against fault-based attacks. The document analyzes the merits and drawbacks of each variant, such as increased computation time or improved security levels. It concludes that RSA remains very popular for encryption and decryption due to its strong security with large key sizes, and more research is still needed to develop variants with even stronger security.
A Review on Key-Aggregate Cryptosystem for Climbable Knowledge Sharing in Clo...Editor IJCATR
The Data sharing is an important functionality in cloud storage. In this article, we show how to securely, efficiently, and
flexibly share data with others in cloud storage. We describe new public-key cryptosystems which produce constant-size ciphertexts
such that efficient delegation of decryption rights for any set of ciphertexts are possible. The novelty is that one can aggregate any set
of secret keys and make them as compact as a single key, but encompassing the power of all the keys being aggregated. In other
words, the secret key holder can release a constant-size aggregate key for flexible choices of ciphertext set in cloud storage, but the
other encrypted files outside the set remain confidential. This compact aggregate key can be conveniently sent to others or be stored in
a smart card with very limited secure storage. We provide formal security analysis of our schemes in the standard model. We also
describe other application of our schemes. In particular, our schemes give the first public-key patient controlled encryption for flexible
hierarchy, which was yet to be known.
IMPROVING TLS SECURITY BY QUANTUM CRYPTOGRAPHYIJNSA Journal
Quantum Cryptography or Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) solves the key distribution problem by allowing the exchange of a cryptographic key between two remote parties with absolute security, guaranteed by the laws of quantum physics. Extensive studies have been undertaken on QKD since it was noted that quantum computers could break public key cryptosystems based on number theory. Actually, the progress of research in this field allows the implementation of QKD outside of laboratories. Efforts are made to exploit this technology in the existing communication networks and to improve the performance and reliability of the implemented technologies. Some research is in progress for the integration of QKD with the protocols in different layers of OSI model. The examples of such research effort are the integration of QKD in point-to-point protocol (PPP) OSI layer 2 and the integration of QKD with IPSEC at OSI layer-3. All these works are moving towards the utilization of QKD technology for enhancing the security of modern computing applications on the internet. In this paper, we present a
novel extension of the TLS protocol based on QKD. We introduce a scheme for integrating Quantum Cryptography in this protocol. Our approach improves the security of the process of authentication and data encryption. Also, we describe an example to illustrate the feasibility of our scheme’s implementation.

Secure key exchange and encryption mechanism for group communication in wirel...graphhoc
This document proposes a key exchange and encryption mechanism for securing communication in ad hoc wireless networks. It involves organizing nodes in a spanning tree topology, where each node only exchanges keys with authenticated neighbors to avoid expensive global rekeying. The mechanism uses the MAC address as an additional "message specific key" to encrypt data before forwarding. It summarizes related work on ad hoc network security and key management. Simulation results using NS2 show the spanning tree construction and packet transfer between nodes. The approach aims to improve security through dual encryption with neighborhood and message specific keys.
The document describes a pairwise key establishment scheme for ad hoc networks. It proposes using cellular automata rules to dynamically establish shared keys between two nodes. Each node sends either a cellular automata rule or the initialization parameters to the other node. The receiving node then uses the rule and parameters along with cellular automata computations to independently derive the shared key. This allows keys to be established dynamically without transmitting the actual keys or requiring an online server. The scheme aims to provide secure communication through pairwise key establishment while being computationally efficient and not relying on predistributed keys.

Effectual Routine for Trilateral Authentication in Ad-hoc Networks using Mult...IOSR Journals
This document proposes a protocol for trilateral authentication in ad-hoc networks using multicast conventions. It introduces a central authority that manages key authentication and certification to increase security and reliability. Nodes are grouped into clusters, each with a cluster head. For similar clusters, authentication uses time asymmetry based on TESLA. For cross-cluster traffic, it uses secret information asymmetry where the source sends packets to cluster heads, which relay to members. Evaluation shows the central authority uses less memory than previous methods and the protocol has higher efficiency.
In Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), the wireless connections are prone to different type
of attacks. Therefore, security of the data that transfer over the wireless network is a measure
concern in WSN. Due to the limitation of nodes’ energy, efficient energy utilization is also an
important factor. Hence to provide security along with efficient energy utilization of sensor
nodes, Secure and Energy Efficient Hierarchical and Dynamic Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem
(HiDE) scheme is proposed. It includes a hierarchical cluster-based architecture consisting of a
several Area Clusters and a Backbone Network. To provide security Elliptic Curve Cryptography
(ECC) is used. For energy efficient data transmission, Low Energy Adaptive Clustering
Hierarchy (LEACH) is used to select the Cluster Head dynamically. Each Cluster Head collects
the data from their own cluster and transmit to the Destination through the Gateway (GW) in the
Backbone Network. However, limited by the coverage of Gateway, Source Gateway may not be
directly linked with the Destination Gateway in a single hop, so needs to hop through other
Gateways to reach the Destination. Data encryption using Elliptic Curve Cryptography provides
high security with small key size than the existing RSA. Key management includes key
computation, key exchanges, data encryption and decryption. Cluster-based cryptographic
mechanism provides efficient energy utilization of sensor nodes along with security and lower
message overhead. Thus, Hierarchical and Dynamic Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem can protect the
confidentiality of sensitive data with low computation complexity, and also keep the
performance of the network in Wireless Sensor Network.

This document proposes a key distribution mechanism for secure communication in ad-hoc networks. It combines identity-based and threshold cryptography to efficiently distribute keys while respecting the constraints of ad-hoc networks. At network formation, participating nodes will generate a master public key for an identity-based cryptosystem in a distributed manner, while sharing the master secret key using threshold cryptography. This allows all network members to use their identity as their public key and obtain the corresponding secret key by interacting with a threshold of nodes.

DSSS with ISAKMP Key Management Protocol to Secure Physical Layer for Mobile ...IJNSA Journal
The wireless and dynamic nature of mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) leaves them more vulnerable to security attacks than their wired counterparts. The nodes act both as routers and as communication end points. This makes the physical layer more prone to security attacks. The MANET physical layer is challenging to DoS attack and also some passive attacks. The physical layer protocol in MANETs is responsible for bit-level transmission between network nodes. The proposed model combines spread spectrum technology Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) with key management technique ISAKMP to defend against signal jamming denial-of-service attacks in physical layer of MANET.DSSS with ISAKMP is found to be a good security solution even with its known security problems. The simulation is done using network simulator qualnet 5.0 for different number of mobile nodes. The proposed model has shown improved results in terms of Average throughput, Average end to end delay, Average packet delivery ratio, and Average jitter.

IRJET- Privacy Preserving Cloud Storage based on a Three Layer Security M...IRJET Journal
This document proposes a three-layer security model for privacy-preserving cloud storage. The model uses encryption techniques like AES and Triple DES to encrypt user data before storing it in the cloud. The encrypted data is then divided into blocks that are distributed across different cloud, fog, and local storage locations. This prevents data leakage even if some blocks are lost or accessed. Computational intelligence paradigms help optimize the distribution of data blocks for efficiency and security. The model aims to provide stronger privacy protection compared to traditional cloud storage security methods.
The document describes a proposed secure distributed storage system that integrates a threshold proxy re-encryption scheme with a decentralized erasure code. This allows for secure and robust storage and retrieval of data in the cloud while also enabling a user to securely forward data to another user without retrieving it first. The system fully integrates encryption, encoding, and secure data forwarding capabilities. It is intended for applications where secret data transmission is required, such as in military or hospital settings.
Analyzing and Securing Data Transmission in Wireless Sensor Networks through ...ijtsrd
Wireless Sensor Networks are gaining popularity in various fields and areas. But these nodes are vulnerable as they are open networks and easily accessible. The major challenge is to have a secure data transmission between the nodes. To establish a secure transmission, we require a security scheme like a cryptographic algorithm, but this also requires a secure key distribution between nodes. The WSN’s have constraints like limited area, power and memory which restrict all the categories of cryptographic algorithm. Depending upon the criteria’s and constraints, cryptographic algorithm like Elliptic Curve Cryptography ECC is best suitable for WSN’s environment. ECC has a smaller key size, high security and less computation time which makes the node an efficient crypto system. In order to protect the security of data, we propose a novel secure transmission strategy based on Cryptography. In this design, we acquire sensitive information securely so as to make use of the advantage of encryption. Our approach deal with the weakness of limitation in sensor node resources and the security threats, it is suitable for stream data in sensor nodes. The simulation experiments also demonstrate that this approach is effective in transmitting sensitive data covertly with the characteristics of lower energy consumptions and invisibility. This paper describes the implementation of ECC cryptosystem for WSN for secure key and data transmission between the nodes. Robust Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) are necessary for early threat detection and mitigation because
of the interconnection of these networks, which makes them vulnerable to a variety of cyberattacks. To
solve this issue, this paper develops a hybrid Deep Learning (DL) model specifically designed for intrusion

train and test our model. The results of our experiments show that our CNN-LSTM method is much better
at finding smart grid intrusions than other deep learning algorithms used for classification. In addition,
our proposed approach improves accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score, achieving a high detection
